Went yesterday, wasn't too busy, SAW had a 40 minute queue for most of the day (and if you don't believe me I have the yellow exit pass to prove it!)Got on quite a lot and was a pretty good day. Weather was lovely, so much for rain!We managed:SAW - 7Stealth - 2Rush - 2Detty - 2Samurai - 1Colossus - 1Inferno - 1Loggers - 1Rumba - 1CCR - 1Teacups - 1Banana ride - 1SAW is bloody amazing without the MCBR trimming anymore, and with 8 cars, obviously less queueing and quicker operation. Onride DVDs are still temperamental, but the photos seem better, so it seems they've finally adjusted the camera to a better angle ;)Rush is now in sync a lot better! Interesting story about how it was done! However swing A (console side) is now quite slow, not very forceful at all. Swing B kicks ass now :PColossus was vile. Sorry but that's the first word that comes to mind! We were at the very back and I suspect it was train 1 cos that's the noisy, vibrating, rougher one. It sounded and felt horrid the whole way round. We weren't going to sit there but there was 2 spaces and as usual all the other guests in the queue were being dappy and not responding, so we thought we'd give the staff a hand. Speaking of the queue...it was 5 minutes! Poor Colossus, no one loves it anymore!Samurai is clearly showing it's age. It's painfully slow and that's not a complaint or anything negative, just an observation. It's actually a shame to see it go so slow, it makes me wonder how much longer it's going to last. Poor thing!Storm In A Teacup was crrrrazy! That was one hell of a teacup we sat in! And we went on just after eating Burger King lol. Just proves that nothing could ever make me sick!Mr Monkey's Big Juicy Banana was fun! Staff were good, Chris was great on Banana! However the staff member in the XNWO bag room towards the end of the day was quite bad, I should have told GS, because when we got there to hand my stuff in he just said "wait there" abruptly, and left the bag room unattended which you should NEVER do. He came back (presumably after going to talk to the greeter), and I can't remember word for word what he said but something like "it's closed so come back later, yeah?"Reliability was pretty good as well! The only shutdowns were Logger's which got evacced, XNWO was down for a long time, then when we went to ride it later it was closed which I just mentioned. Inferno had a sick shutdown when we were queuing, and then SAW closed at the end of the day.Overall a good day!

Yeah we went on yesterday we had to shout monkey!

I want some Dr Peppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer! And I don't have any :DGrr!Bored...so bored I told someone I was pregnant just to see their reaction! :oBut I'm not...well I shouldn't be anyway!
-
Yep Chris is awesome! Ben do you mean Pooh Bear? Woop!(it's a friendly nickname among the staff, just so you know, I'm not being mean )

Going back to the incidents thing...someone died from a heart attack on Rush I believe, but off-site, not at the park.I think (but I may be wrong) that they had a heart condition and ignored the restrictions, trying to be clever...just goes to show doesn't it...But yeah that part might not be correct but I'm certain that's the case.Boy that's confusing
-
I have such a bad cold and a crappy head...bleeurggh.
-
It's when they come up to you and try to force the basketball or whatever into your hand that's rude as well. Invasion of personal space!!! That would be like the bag room attendant grabbing people and their bags and forcing the wristband onto their wrist IMO.I know they are trying to make money and stuff, but when they stand in your way and try to force you it takes the P a bit!

Ok that's what I meant

:blink:It was Marc's idea, I couldn't have given a s**t.But that's not me being horrible either. I mean I thought I may as well stay with everyone til the end of the day cos at the time we joined the queue, Rob wouldn't have finished work and I'm not going to stand around in the car park like a **** on my own I'm not that much of a fangirl anymore since working at Thorpe. Before I worked there yeah I would have overjoyed to be on the last ride. Yes I was a complete loser back in those days. But not now.So there
-
I wouldn't say they "removed it" as such :DI went yesterday with Marc. Got on a lot because I'm "magic" haha. Did Stealth about 6 times (where Marc commented on Rob's nice legs ) and SAW 4 times. Colossus and Rush twice. Quantum was poo because Rob sat me next to my worst enemies ¬_¬The worst point of the day (apart from Quantum) was me forgetting I'd put my bag in the left hand side of the bag cupboard on Colossus, and I thought it had been stolen! The highlight was throwing someone's sock into the lake and hearing it plop I am easily amused! And we were on the very last ride of the day on SAW!
-
Oh god, the fun I had with that PA "Vortex is an intense ride. Vortex is an intense ride. Vortex is an inside ride. Vortex is an intense ride!"Then "Hold on tight. Hold on tight. Hold on tight. Hold on tight."I is easily amused :POccassionally the ride wouldn't start, so the floor lower music would start but the floor wouldn't move, and it was really confusing the first time it happened to me!

I wasn't gonna write a trip report, but I'm bored so I am now! :PWent on Wednesday, only got there at like 3 cos it was a last minute decision. Did all of the main rides except Bubbles. Managed 3 on Fury, and 2 on Vampire and Rattle. I forgot how fun Fury is :PThe Sea Dragons op seemed to be having fun...And we finished the day at the zoo, saw some lions trying to mate, but the lioness wanted out and had a strop Stupid noisy kids kept scaring the tigers and leopards, the leopards were right up close to the window at one point but the stupid brats scared them off! No sign of the parents either...grr! I was on the verge of telling them off!But overall was a fun day hehe.

Tut tut, assuming he's talking about you! You're not the only staff member that interacts with girls in flourescent tutus guests y'know
-
But while you're watching, another operator could take over and change the setting
-
Is the Colossus theme on the audio page the proper one with the trumpets in the fast bit? I have the one without the trumpets, but I want the one with the trumpets hehe.
-
Random post but hey...Blackpool Pleasure Beach is being used in an advert on TV at the moment! It's a Specsavers ad, an old couple end up on Infusion and it says the should have gone to Specsavers thing. Lol.

They are crossbows and arrows!
-
I think they are meant to be crossbows and arrows, look at the pictures on sawtheride.com in blueprints for torture, bottom right hand picture, also the arrows do move but slowly.
-
Did you get top swing that time? That could be why it seemed higher. As for the speed, there is no settings for the ride, the only thing that affects the speed is temperature, but it's normally: when it's cold or first thing in the morning, the motors and stuff are still "warming up" so it takes longer to get going, therefore giving a longer ride. You can see from watching how slow it is, it's painful to watch sometimes! But I don't think a hot day would speed it up...and it hasn't been hort recently anyway so I'm confused as well :)I swear rides have minds of their own

It finishes saying "Good luck tomb blasters, we need you back in one piece"

Yay animals! :DBABY MEERKATS!!! I saw some little capybaras too, not sure how young they are, but the meerkats were tiny! And one of the adults ran up to the window and started running up and down, think it might have recognised my coat and thought I was about to feed it or something. I was like "Sorryyy, I work on the rides!"Next time I'm at work, I'm visiting the tigers, see if they have any cubs! That's a bonus of working at Chessie, you can look at the animals on break, and look at the cute l'il babies. You don't see SAW or Vortex producing furry little babies do you hehe imagine that!
-
Spot on!Plus Chessie has the zoo! Yesterday when I went on break, I went to visit the meerkats THEY HAVE BABIES!! I love animals, so think it's great I can go and look at them where I work, I imagine it could be quite relaxing and a relief on a busy day, or if you're not having a good day. I've already noticed a huge difference between working there and at Thorpe. I'm finding it a lot easier to talk to guests, because most of them are families having a fun day out, and not teenagers causing trouble. And they have been to every ride and ridden it, instead of being told it's closed :PThere are some great members of staff at Thorpe, I'm just commenting on the difference between working at the two parks.
-
Haven't got much time so just a quick post lol. Managed to get on SAW today, after the bad luck at the weekend! Was absolutely brilliant, we were only at the park for a few hours unfortunately but I'll be returning tomorrow woop! The first drop was very forceful! Theming was fantastic!
-
Was at the park for a few hours today and got a picture of Slammer at the top. It was going up and down all day apparently. Only got it from the start of Colossus bridge as we were in a rush hehe.

That's a good point actually. They found out that the long cycle on Zodiac didn't actually make much difference to the throughputs, and that's about 5-10 seconds or so longer than the short cycle, as a rough estimate. Ask Rob, he'll know :)And having the extra two swings on Rush is probably about the same amount of extra time. But hey, maybe there's other reasons behind it, who knows.I'm not gonna explain why I love Rush cos it'll take too long one of the things is the weightlessness, especially if you have the bar quite loose!
