    Air

I love Air, but along with Spinball Whizzer it attracts some of the longest queues in the park, on my last trip I queued 80 minutes for the ride. I'm starting to wonder how low the capacity would actually be without the (amazing) dual loading stations...
  2. I must admit that I've never actually played Extraordinary Golf, I think it should be free to Annual Pass holders as an added benefit. I'll certainly play it in the near future though as it looks really good! By the looks of things the Rita, Duel, Nemesis and Oblivion holes are all amazing!

    Oblivion

Oblivion cannot actually get stuck on the holding brake, as the train never actually stops it just moves VERY Slowly, however it can get stuck on the brakes just before the drop. Oblivion has never been the most reliable of rides, but fortunately Alton Towers always sort the problem out quickly. And, based on reliability during Scarefest 2008, reliability has actually improved this season!

    Alton's MTDP

Who else thinks Spinball Whizzer should replace Jungle Coaster at LEGOLAND. Unbelievably, I actually think Spinball has a higher capacity!
  7. I hope I'm in time...Am I right in thinking mine is the only one from Chessington?

    Fastrack

Is the ultimate fastrack a wristband or a ticket. (In other words, would you be able to swap in within your group)?

Those logos are made by TT, they're not official ride logos. Thanks anyway though!

    The Flume

The sponsorship doesn't run out until the end of next year, if I remember correctly. So there's no news yet.
  13. You should get it for a single photo as well. Even if you don't, there's no harm in asking the person selling them.

Thanks! Anybody have logos for Ripsaw or The Blade, I'm not sure Blade even has one. But Ripsaw definitely does...

  17. To be honest when I used to wear glasses I took them on all the rides at Alton (including Oblivion) and they didn't fall off. The speed pins them to your face.
  18. We were talking about the Alton Towers ride photo price increases, and we somehow ended up here. Anyway, even if you guys say there aren't discounts at Thorpe I can absolutely promise and guarantee to you that an annual pass gets you a discount at Alton Towers.

  20. I got a discount this year for my Colossus photo. And annual pass holders should get £5 off a photo pass, not £2.

'Your Alton Towers Media' was also for Wallpapers, Photos, Screensavers, Ride Logos and any other media. Congratulations on getting it deleted.
  22. I did... I got 20% off a Colossus on-ride photo.
  23. Yes, annual pass holders receive a 20% discount.

Does anybody have the Air logo?
  25. I went on SAW yesterday. In my opinion it's Thorpe's 2nd best ride, behing Colossus. I headed for it first and got away with just a 60 minute queue for it. The indoor section of the queue is excellent, the video which comes on is very atmospheric even if standard. There are also loud bangs and lights flashing.Once in the station the ride broke down, but was fixed quickly and without too much bother. I was on the 2nd train, back row which meant I missed most of the effects but got a longer talk at the start. The drop at the start is surprisingly forceful and very fun. The swinging blades added an awful lot to the experience. The twist was also good. I got soaked by the body on the floor. The outdoor section isn't so good. The "Game Over" just before the lift is a nice effect and the drop is quite fun. I was disappointed by how far away the blades actually are from you going down the drop and the inversions weren't much to shout about. But there was none of the roughness I have heard about in recent reports, although the ride did keep braking down and at one point the queue stretched back to Colossus. SAW and Colossus had 99 minutes queues all day and I think the park almost hit capacity.
