Look as though I got my wish - Thorpe now have Swarm bears! Similar to the Oblivion bears really.
-
There's a Saw one as well. I don't know how much they are this season, but they've been £7 the past couple of seasons. They probably cost between £5-£7 though. There's also a Vampire one at Chessington and a Nemesis one at Alton.

I apologise on behalf of myself and all others taking exams at the moment for focusing more on revision and our future than ensuring this forum isn't quiet. I really and truly am sorry. Anyways, not like there's anything really important or exciting to discuss at the moment, is there?

To all those worrying about the closeness of the fire... I assume that would mean the zero-g roll, which is more or less above the engine. Thus, no worrys about getting burnt. Should look very nice from onride if that's the case!

Well, it could be worse at least. I remember on my first visit to AT and Skyride was down practically all day. It didn't spoil my day one bit, and if it had been open, all it probably would've meant would have been maybe an extra ride, and not as much enjoying walking round the park. I much prefer this idea to closing the park an hour early or not opening actual rides; the lesser of the evils if you will...

ME LIKE! :D Might have to pop down to the park this weekend then..
-
I really enjoy it to be honest.. Yeah, there might be better things out there, but I'm more than happy with what we've got with that piece there.

Failrace. Somewhat disturbing..

So you're pretty much justifying the charges made by Merlin parks because it's more expensive elsewhere? Taking the example of Thorpe, paying any sort of money to park a car between two logs on a bit of gravel is quite frankly silly. To be honest, pretty much all car parking charges are ridiculous, but we should be thankful that at the moment it's not any higher...

Wow, that X-Flight POV makes it look really fast - much faster than the other wingrider POVs I'd say. And good news about Verbolten - even if it is a bit of a Th13teen rip off with the theming idea and some of the sequencing, it is the new ride of 2012 I'd most want to ride outside of the European..

Great work guys - thanks for that Mr9 and every else!

The funny thing is, no one complained when Thorpe got the exact same type of coaster as Gardaland, and no one's complaining that Heide Park are possibly get that same type as well. No one complained when Heide Park opened a scare maze themed around one of their major coasters, just like Thorpe did. The only difference - if this ride is the same as Sub Terra - is that they would have opened in the same year. If Alton don't like, then in honesty, they should just suck it up and deal with it. It could be much worse after all - an extremely similar ride could be opening in this country, in a foreign park much more popular to British audiences or Sub Terra could be a completely flop hated by everyone.. EDIT: Just as a point to raise to Sidders' point below me. I think it was mentioned on the TT10 event over the weekend that Sub Terra has received mixed reactions, as opposed to it just being based on fan reaction. Though, to be honest, I don't actually know - or care - as I've avoided anything relating to Sub Terra since it opened in an attempt to avoid spoilers.. XD

Well, the MTDP did mention an arena refurb; don't think it mentioned any sort of extension though. Think there's been something mentioned to council about having the arena show films / hold concerts as well, though not sure about that. Perhaps they are just working through a slight refurb of it; maybe getting a new fencing outline or something? Hopefully that open air stage thing by Stealth will still go ahead - would mean less of those ugly temporary stages being dotted around the park..

May bank holiday tends to be really quiet, especially compared to the other bank holidays. Also, don't hate on Techno X - it is amazing! Glad you had a nice day though scarycoasterboy!

All together now; 'n'awwww...'

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/249725/Jenny-Thompson-Ride-was-better-than-Wayne-Rooney/ According to this Daily Star article ( ), The Swarm is 'a better ride' than Wayne Rooney, according to a prostitute... Said article also says riding roller coasters can reduce stress and make people sexually aroused and even have orgasms... So come on, own up, who's had a coastergasam?

When you word it like that, it is a big increase. However, I was more simply that £1 is a 'small amount' of money.. It was £3 at the end of last year - they bumped it up from £2 to before Fright Nights. But yeah, that does mean it has doubled in price in under a year.
-
It was £3 at the beginning of the season, so this little increase is rather recent.
-
Just a random question really, but does anyone have a copy / file of the instrumental version of the You Me at Six song? Much prefer it to the actual song.. Ta

Ben and Jerry's Core Dough-ble Whammy ice cream is simply amazing. Plus, half price in Tesco at the mo = epic win.

Layout looks quite good I think tbh. However, those trains are pretty poor. Look forward to seeing some video and reading some reviews soon.

Marc's post, which was written in 2006, in the context of the conversation back then, was saying about when the replacement - which, as you say, came in 2006 - originally opened. I believe that particular Enterprise opened at Drayton Manor in 2002, but was then brought over to Thorpe in 2006 due to the older one being knackered pretty much(?) This has probably been mentioned before in this thread, but can't be bothered to trawl through that. So, in context, Marc was right...

That would be news to me.. Maybe it was to do with the Easter event and they were prepping for that? Speaking of the arena, isn't that due a small refurb according to the MTDP? In a few years, wouldn't be surprised if Slammer, X and Surge make way; opens up the space quite nicely for a major coaster or something. And it's quite possible that Ranger County won't even last a few years, might not even make it to 2013/4...

Wow, I'm pretty shocked to find another Jubilee kind on here..! I almost feel like I should vaguely remember you, what with it being such a small school.. I left a couple of years ago now, and let's just say, I never really got on with Mr Balch (or short n shiny as many of us liked to call him.. XD). I don't disagree he's helped the school, but personally, I disagreed with some of his views on how to run a school and what he prioritized (plus many other bad experiences with him which I shall not go into...). I looked at the letter sent to students from Ofsted, which they've put on the school website, and well, I have to say I was shocked at how well it reflected my views! Achievement in maths is not good enough, exam results aren't up to scratch (and, in many cases, do not reflect students' capabilities, which is partially down to the school). Many lessons are also poorly planned and can be too slow for people. Of course, this is all from a couple of years ago now, but with the teaching changes I know of, I am really not surprised. I hate to act in a way of 'I told you so', but when talking to people in my year, and even some teachers, we did feel that after we went, and with the teachers that were going, the school would begin to slump down a bit, so the report has come as no surprise to me really. As for Kibble (hehe), he doesn't seem too bad, though I've heard he is pretty firm. And scarycoasterboy, check your PM..

For X, unfortunately, the end is slowly but surely drawing ever closer. By bet would be it leaving by 2016/17, perhaps even sooner. The thing is, I'd love a 'Club X' sorta feel - flashing lights, rave music and so forth. The coaster itself is not that good in honesty, but it's what they do with it. Having it in the dark was the first novelty, but a better novelty is to have this whole club night / techno / rave feel to it. Not being too fast or too intense means it's the perfect ride to have a laugh on with a group of people, so make the most of it and have that feel to it. However, having a short lifespan left, are Thorpe going to think it is worthwhile spending money on all this, which won't come cheap to do it properly, and putting the effort into doing it? Probably not, which is the shame. However, a few more flashing lights - would could be used for plenty of things, not just X - wouldn't go a miss, and should be pretty basic to do.
