  1. Can no longer make this sadly. A shame as I was really looking forward to the day. Have a good day and one day I shall finally make a meet! Guess I should never say 100% :/
  2. I don't think it's just based on looking at that map, as the website that shows green belt land covers Thorpe as well. Must be more to it.
  3. London Fried eggs or scrambled eggs?
  4. A worker told me they have been trying to run two most peak days but are sometimes having to take a train off due to issues during the day
  5. Good idea. Was great to see Pleasure Beach jet washing the train today as well as fixing a window seal that cracked in Streak's station. Even saw a cleaner wiping the outside of a bin! I know you like Blackpool pleasure Beach so thought I'd say something in comparison to Chessington just for you
  6. Ended up going to the park on Thursday as Wednesday was insane with winds of 45 to 50mpb, although only the Big One was affected on the Wed, as was the Blackpool Tower down the road. Arrived at the park to be told The Big One would be closed due to high winds (23mph westerly) . About an hour into opening the ride began testing and about 2pm opened. The park itself was nice and quiet and staff very friendly and efficient. Didn't feel operations were poor at all, although only Big one and Avalanche were on two trains. Rest on one (two of four on nash) Overall a very good day and park stayed open until planned time of 7pm Infusion X2 (wasn't rough at the front, but gave a battering in the middle) Avalanche x3 Big dipper x2 Grand National x2 Big One x3 Derby Racer x2 Avatar airbender x2 Streak x2 Blue Flyer x1 Wallace and Gromit x1 Impossible x1 River Caves x2 Revolution x2 Sky force x 1 (20 spins) Wild Mouse x2 Dodgems x1 Ice Blast x 1 Flying Machine x1 Valhalla x1 Did have a few pics but can't seem to add any in this topic.
  7. So the forecast for Wednesday is now 50mph gusts, typical. Looks like Thursday will be a better option and that's the only other day I can do.
  8. I think they have are simply allergic to the word "top" what with the state of Samurai too!
  9. Ahh sorry don't know then, I am using a PC and download works for me. Can anyone using a PC let me know if it works?
  10. Attached. I believe this also still plays in the sea life centre at Chessington Nemesis Inferno - Loading 2007.mp3
  11. When did you go? I visited on the 23rd March and last Friday and the nemesis Inferno theme plays around the whole area (very loud at the entrance to queue) except for the one speaker in the cattle pen area. Surely it hasn't reverted back to the I'm a celeb music again when this was only just changed. The station was also playing dispatch music as well on both visits but with a new announcement over it that is just a mumble and cannot really be heard. I even uploaded a short clip of it playing at the entrance in my post a few posts back.
  12. Goes to show how it can be so different on a day to day basis. They were probably the best team in the park on Friday, even with a short queue mostly dispatching as the other train hit the start of the final set of brakes outside the station.
  13. I wouldn't say that. I came off bone dry on the two rides I had on Friday.
  14. They should just do what Adventure Island do and say something along the lines of closing between 6pm and 8pm, and then decide based on the numbers and weather.
  15. Thanks. I am off to the park Wednesday and it's forecast to be 20mph and westerly which I've heard is the direction that affects it the most.
  16. Does anybody know what maximum wind speed the big one tends to operate in?
  17. I 100% agree with you there. Ah exiting the park to the end of day theme used to be so atmospheric.
  18. Fair enough, just wasn't in use on both my rides and everytime I walked past. Strange how they only used it for a short period, doesn't seem to be much consistency.
  19. April fools jokes only apply until midday!
  20. Nope sorry, had a stream of people behind me. Have a look if you can next time you're at the park the shutter may well be open like today.
  21. May have been mentioned before, but today a shutter to DBGT was open directly opposite the x queueline fire exit, and there was what appeared to be a very thick grey metal track like structure? Any ideas?
  22. I hated the Detonator soundtrack last week (and still do) but annoyingly I started humming it after listening to it for 20 minutes in the queue!! X music extremely low in ride area, but louder in queue. WWTP radio has now been set to play in the Amity beach area and Depth Charge queue, with chart music now just at dome, bridge and entrance (playing alongside the Thorpe Video music - can't call it entrance music as it is only part of it! that plays).
  23. The Inferno fasttrack point has always been in operation for me (except on March school trips - off peak days). Oddly enough for the first time on a peak visit today the merge point wasn't being used. What was great about today was very minimal fasttrack sold and used, made queues move quicker, although there was an excessive number of people using RAP. Only the fast track unit near Depth Charge was open. Inferno two trains, Swarm 2 trains, Colossus obviously just the one train, X on 2 trains, making the queue painfully slow, Saw on 6, Stealth reduced to one half way through the day after an issue. Operations as such not bad today , just Inferno being very slow at loading and dispatching, I was in brake run for almost 2 minutes. Park generally not too busy with longest physical queue being Colossus at just over 40 minutes. Swarm was about a four train wait after 4:30. Saw was 5 minutes after 5:15pm.
  24. It was open the first few weeks. Must be waiting for a part if no work taking place.
  25. It's been like that virtually every peak day this season so far. The place is certainly getting the visitors these days despite having more regular issues.
