  1. There were similar issues across the park yesterday aka monday. Falls was evac'd and closed early/mid afternoon.. Only reopening not long before park close ... Vampire had numourous issues including a long shutdown involving security and a adult urinating in the station. Operations across the park were dire to say the least not an ounce of urgency to keep rides/ queues moving EG dragons fury was advertised as 50 minutes queue wasnt too long... But in perspective the queue was 1.5 hours from the 20min sign. All 6 cars were pretty much stacked for most of the time in the breaks... And then sending empty cars as the merge point staff member was to busy talking and forgot to let guests up. Another example vampire full queue when we finally got on after 1.5 hours the online side was ready to dispatch and we had been placed in the front row(I prefer vamp at the back). The staff member was sat chatting about her night out to the operator even after the second train was back. Overall the park was dire today countless rides evac'd and closed for long periods
  2. Nope its not 1 but I am very OCD with certain things
  3. There are so many different variables on rumba its hard to compare 2 rides even if you stay on. What I do know rumba hasnt run with all 4 pumps operational for some time.
  4. 1) I cant stand any unread sections of the forum so I probably come on here atleast 6-10 times per day. 2) I'm an operations manager for a large company, and have to travel 2 hours each day 3) I was part of Thrills East at thorpe park in 2007
  5. Yes by process of elimination 1 was the lie :-)
  6. No its not number 2 either
  7. Sorry johnny :-( should read more of the thread :-(. But no its not number 3
  8. There are so many different reasons for boats stopping there high or low water levels in the splash pool, a boat has missed a sensor so like a coaster it thinks the next block is occupied. Whilst it could be the same issue its possible that its a differerent problem
  9. 1. I was fired from Thorpe park for authorising Detonator to start with a child sat in the bag box. 2. I was about 9 and I threw a tantrum at home that prevented my family to drive from london to Eastbourne to visit my grandad. He died a week later and my parents didnt tell me for a week, this meant I prevented my dad seeing his dad for the last time. 3. My most enjoyable job ever was at Thorpe park, I met some amazing people but I hurt people I never should have hurt.
  10. Another reason you might see yellow bands in the main queue could be group size, with anxiety and other people being in a larger group e.g 5 or more people some people may struggle more than they may let on to in silence, simply because they dont want to break into 2 groups ect. Other reasons include not wanting to ride on the back row for example: if a yellow band holder wants to specifically ride on the front they are forced to hide the band and queue. Again I think it depends queue to queue in relation to queue legnth, path width and if like the saw queue you can feel trapped at times. In terms of day to day operations queuing at the exit can be a big deal as so many people make comments at rides exits about it being exit only ect In summary every band is issued for different reasons as such each individual person with a band maybe affected differently in terms of there physical and mental limitations, no one member of staff customer or otherwise can truely know who is capable of what , some people abuse the system but most dont,
  11. I'm sure the walkers contract went to pringles aswell so several contracts have changed
  12. Could just be they decided not to renew the licence, I believe drusillas paid around £70,000-80,000 for the initial licence, as I was at college doing leisure sudies and we did a Q+A with the park as part of coursework. They have since opened a hello kitty area aswell.
  13. Its a different licence contract the opposite side of the country and pre dates the drayton area.... It depends if they were exclusive contracts ect
  14. At the end of the day its free publicity for Thorpe park so even with the 'mess up' it will be seen as a sucess in terms of reach. It could well have been planned to give the park more media coverage
  15. Oh I do love Blackpool :-) will try and get it off work
  16. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b073bs0y/midlands-today-17032016 You might find this interesting to watch
  17. Tbh take every single ride at Thorpe look at staff when rides opened vs now.... X lost its indoor queue due to staff cuts. Loosing staff directly lead to limits on the number of people in the building. Stealth opened with 10 or more staff , I havent seen 4 people loading in a long time. It currently on 2 trains runs with 6-7 staff Colossus arguably the biggest coaster at thorpe suffers with bad throughputs due to design issues that plague it in terms of when you can dispatch trains and the restraint issues, but thorpe now rarely have 5 staff on Colossus 4 loading and operator. The list goes on ....whilst even popular rides have massive cuts imagine the impact on the not so big ones
  18. Pretty sure coster Mania is pretty a dodge name when you think the term 'mania' could be seen as linked to the mania hub websites ect
