If they were to put a ride there, it would have to be some sort of smallish flat. There would be no room for anything larger than Detonator for example, (in terms of ground space is takes up including queue line). I suppose they could do something similar to Duel or Tomb Blaster (with a similar flat track to Miss Hippo's Fungle Safari), but then again, there probably isn't enough room for a project of that scale.
  2. It varies. Some days it opens on opening time, and others it may open at 11am or 1pm.
  3. Ok. I presume they were using the makeshift queueline then. But were they running the ride to full capacity?
  4. To be honest, I think 3 hours + is a little extravagent, I would think probably maximum of 2 hours during the day. Thorpe Park are expecting a lot of visitors, therefore will hopefully run the ride to full capacity, resulting in reduced queuing times.
  5. It doesn't say anywhere that the rides are closed. All the rides are in operation today. And as for your trip on tuesday, I would estimate the queue for SAW being anywhere between 30mins and 120+mins throughout the day.

    I'm a soul man. .
  7. I am so against fastrack. You pay enough to get in the park, so why should you pay more to beat the queues? I think it's ridiculous and I would like to see fastrack abolished personally. Like you say, equality is what we need.
  8. I am yet to read the article, but this sounds quite unbelievable. It might be true, but I'm sure that Thorpe Park and whoever else is concerned would have looked at all aspects of submitted a planning application, if there was even the slightest doubt that there might be a fault. Someone would have picked this up months before the site was even cleared. And March 31st.... One day prior to 1st April. April Fools!
  9. I think it is the same speed, but it might have seemed faster on the old fish because of all of the plants and theming. I know it sounds silly, but if you ride round and round close to the vegetation, it seemsslightly more thrilling and exciting. I know it used to run at 19mph. I presume it's the same now, I don't know.
  10. It can't be a case of whether it's sunny or not. When I rode on a dark-ish morning during FN 2008, the mist effects were in full operation.
  11. To be honest, I don't think it's a full sponsership for the ride. Like James said, it might just be something for Head Rush. Also tbh, I think sponserships just ruin the atmosphere and theming of a ride. Such as Tidal Wave with Original Source. Thank God it's gone!

    SAW - The Films

Saw II is definately the best for storyline. If mindless violence is your thing, III or IV is the best. .

To be honest, I've never noticed a major difference between sitting on the inside and on the edge.
  14. Yes. It's to the left of depth charge if you are facing it, and just in front and to the right of tidal wave. (If you are facing towards tidal wave).
  15. I noticed that everyone in the queueline who has ridden SAW: The Ride before seems to be looking up at the rifle, so it's easily noticed.
  16. £12. But they are not yet in operation, and it is difficult to say whether they will be by the time you visit.
  17. I'm really hoping the actors will do a good job, and I'm sure they will. If they get it right, it will add so much to the queueing experience.
  18. Excluding CCR, TP have had 6 days (including today), of full ride "up-time". And my statistics refer to the Main Season, as I mentioned earlier, which includes 19 open days. Not including Thrill Chill. 6/19 = 32%. But yes, in reality the "up-time" is probably much less.
  19. This data is referring to the information provided by www.thorpepark.com. I have not been to the park every day and recorded this information myself. And this does not account for breakdowns that are unexpected and occur during the day. It only refers to rides that are registered unavailable at the beginning of each day.
  20. I was bored while doing my maths homework, so I have calculated some stats about TP's ride availability so far this year:As a percentage of the park open time for the main season so far in 2009, 32% of the open time has had all rides available. 10% of the open time has had 1 ride unavailable. 21% of the open time has had 2 rides unavailable. 21% of the open time has had 3 rides unavailable. 11% of the open time has had 4 rides unavailable. 5% of the open time has had 5 rides unavailable. So basically, 32% of the open time has had all rides available. :PAnd 68% of the open time has had one or more rides unavailable.

Also, the intensity of the experience can depend on the combined weight of all five passengers in the row. If the weight is more, the experience is likely to be more intense, because the pods are able to tip freely, so would therefore tip more violently during the ride.
  22. I completely agree. Ok, it has scary elements. But is it really the scariest ride in the world? I don't think so.
