Just got back from a week's holiday yesterday, could anyone sum up what the ride availability was like last week? Thanks.

That's some nice footage there. I know this is slightly off topic, but I do love that video as a whole. I love the way the rides are filmed, and there are some interesting camera angles and shots in there.

Yes, I was going to say, What is the Bear Hunt?

Thorpe Park has now had 12 consequetive days of full ride availability. Like Mark said, this should be more, but then again, for Thorpe Park that's pretty good .

I love this theme; the thumping bassline really adds to the volcanic atmosphere. Whereas a theme like that of Colossus for example, it great the first few times, but after that, you really start to get sick of it.
  6. Fair enough. I suppose because AT is so much bigger, it might have worked for Pre-bookers and Hotel residents.
  7. To be honest, every day is going to be pretty similar, but if I were you, I would go on a tuesday, wednesday or thursday. Even though it is easter, days during the week seem to be slightly less busy. Also, if you book online before you go, you can become eligible for Early Ride on selected rides. This would be a great way to get on as many rides as possible before the gates open for the "on-the-gate" ticket purchasers. This offer can apply to Rita, Oblivion and Duel to name a few. Check out the website for more details. But yes, I would strongly recommend a Wednesday if possible.
  8. I don't know if it is still there, because I havn't been in ages, but there used to be a KFC near Congo River Rapids.
  9. Good move. You can't go wrong with Alton Towers. Best park by far imo.
  10. Do you mean the smell when you walk in to the inside queuing area, the sort of fresh chloriney magical water smell? Lol.

The sponsership contract has officially ended, although there are still various clues around the ride that would suggest otherwise. If you look on the bridge railings, the Original Source sign has been removed, and the Original Source logo has been removed from the splash zone.
  12. Agreed. I can't believe how much the Imperial Leather theming ruined the whole experience.

    Yes.

It does annoy me how before the public found out the news, the majority seemed to despise her. But when the news was revealed, it was as though everyone was so kind and sympathetic towards her. Many people believe that it's sad that she has gone, which is fair enough, but then again, thousands of people die every day in the world, so why should she get so much attention?

Thanks Tim. It is working fine now that I have switched to Safari. I was on Internet Explorer before, so thanks for the help!

I do like the current launch countdown announcement, that has been played since 2007? The only thing is that on my last ride on Rush, I had to listen out, because the announcement was more of a background sound. I would much prefer it if they increased the volume of this announcement, so that it catches everyones attention before the ride starts. It would also improve the ride overall in my opinion.

I agree. Although, the only sponsership I did actually like was Ribena for Rumba Rapids. I think the idea of currents and the various parts of theming that were added did add to the ride experience. Also, it was suited very well to the Calypso theme in my opinion. Back on topic now .
  18. I can't relate to the "jolt" at the the bottom of the main drop. I have sat on the front and back rows, and in the middle and on the outside, and havn't noticed it once.
  19. Paul replied to MikeC's topic in The Future
Now now, there's no need for that. Tim was making a fair point. You knew what he meant.

Can anyone help me out? I have a problem when posting anywhere on the forums. I type a reply, but when I click submit, it shows in the topic page as a post, but with no text in it. I have tried many different things, but the only way that I have found that works is to post that way, click "Edit Post", and re-type it. Then it works, (hence what I have done on this post). Has anyone had the same problem, or knows how to fix it?Thanks.

It's a good ride, don't get me wrong. But compared to Rush? No competition imo.

I think people who havn't experienced Storm in a Teacup underestimate the ride quite a lot as "another teacup ride". But Storm is something different .

If they were to put a ride there, it would have to be some sort of smallish flat. There would be no room for anything larger than Detonator for example, (in terms of ground space is takes up including queue line). I suppose they could do something similar to Duel or Tomb Blaster (with a similar flat track to Miss Hippo's Fungle Safari), but then again, there probably isn't enough room for a project of that scale.
  24. That was lucky .

It varies. Some days it opens on opening time, and others it may open at 11am or 1pm.
