I went in April mind you but they did not have video cameras for the backwards rows at the point, could have changed, they didn't have cameras for the backrow seats back then either which dissapointed us, I honestly can't complain about the queue being a mess because the staff member allowed us to push in and have a go at the backwards rows or perhaps it was my charm

I did hear something similair only with the ghastly notion of a dueling launched coaster of hot wheels IP
-
? That comment makes no sense?

That's never been my moto and it won't be starting now

I find apocalypse terrifying and detonator couldn't hold a candle it's just a filler, run of the mill traveling carnival ride for me
-
Detonator better than apocalypse?!!!!!! BLASPHEMOUS!!!!!!!!
-
I find detonator just to be a pathetic ride for the park to have now, it was only ever intended as "part time" ride, something to fill the void after the fire and is long overdue being replaced, I find it incredibly lackluster and want/need a replacement that surpasses it and this is similar to the suggestion idea I had in another topic, so I really like the idea, plus rides all have to be replaced at some point and it's a boring ride.

Thorpe Park really should invest in a ride like falcons fury, it would give them the edge against other theme parks in something most UK parks (bar Drayton Manor) seems to possess, roller coaster after roller coaster is great but we do need other rides (not like the durge that is storm surge)
-
I must admit I was very against all this backwards rows argument untill I actually tried it, it gives the ride a different feeling/ a different edge that I shocked myself in actually enjoying
-
my question finally got answered, thanks for reminding, I'm excited to here they are changing the look of the map and possibly reverting to themed area's in time for fright nights
-
This is also a concern of mine, it's all well and good them adding in a few family rides here and there to make the park suitable for families as well but I hope they don't do a chessie complete u-turn from the thrill market to the family market, look what that did for them...

Dark Green B&M you say?

2014: Rumba Rapids recieves a Temple Run sponsorship and retheme, renamed to Temple Run River Rapids Slogan: "Temple Run comes to Thorpe Park, you can't escape a soaking" The entrance is rethemed around the brick stone buildings used in the game and features temple run singage and adverts for a thorpe park version of the game. The queue line has coins painted on the ground, the station building has been rethemed to the idol head, the boats now feature seatbelts. There are monkey/monster figurines with small water jets coming out of there mouths, a head chopper effect from a broken bottom wall, a rusty spinning blade on the corner hill, fake fire leaning out above the ride from the sides, the building has reverted back to a cavern and inside is a broken mine cart with gold spilling out and a monkey/monster manequin, exiting the cavern ginger man figure on a zipwire above the riders, terrocotta sticking out either sides of the path for a bump, in the front viewing area there is a rotating spike cylinder, water cannons have been added, the bridge acts a head chopper effect, the shower photo moment has been replaced with a waterfall like in the game. 2015: Ulterior District A large modern white facility building is housed on the new island The building has a large logo of P.A.R. above the front entrance The building houses, a shop and photo outlet, restaurant, toilets, roller coaster and a flat ride There is a large reception area which houses restaurant shop and toilets and TV which advertise P.A.R. and it's paranormal rangers activities and a reception desk as the entrance to the ride Deamon- The queue line is through dark corridors where a body drops down from above, turning a corner an encased demonic spirit is displayed, large printed spooky photo's are on the wall, turning the next corner a ranger mannequin blasts air from his ghost vacuum The station centers around a map guiding the facilities train and a central computer which displays different paranormal scenario's such as moving objects, sounds, ouji board and possession. Boarding the trains the room goes pitch black and alarm lights go of and alarm sounds, "system breach all cells unlocked", and the central computer displays a demonic spirit who gives the pre ride warning, "Your about to go through the ride of your, death, please keep your arms and legs inside the cars for your own safety, we make no promises on your fate only it will be, excruciating" The ride drops out of the station passing cells with blood and mannequins and remains and projected spirits launching at the riders, a possessed floating mannequin is illuminated above riders, the ride then travels through a skeleton walled catacombs, through a street tunnel with a murderer's ghost lurking, passing a scene of spirits experimenting and torturing the rangers and the ride performs over banked turns, s-bends, heart line roll, cork screw, helix's, air time hills, bunny hops. The ride then stops in a dimly lit crypt with wind and eerie whispering sounds, zombie mannequins are then revealed and a projection of a spirit launches itself directly at the riders as the ride then drops 60ft in the dark, the ride then travels forwards as the lights come on and the rangers are projected recapturing the spirits and the ride then turns a corner and creepy spirit twins either side of the car shh at the riders as it returns to the station. As they exit a 3D painting and a mannequin arm reaching out greet the riders as they turn the corner.

Quote 'I'm hugely disappointed I never got to go on it. It's called The Smiler and I was sitting there thinking what is there to smile about." Global Superstar - Tinchy Stryder The global superstar bit had me in stitches!

http://riderater.co.uk/2013/thorpe-park-to-install-next-rollercoaster-in-2016/ This says it was revealed in with the plans for the crash pad? There is no evidence though so I will take that with a pinch of salt.

I thought there was something found somewhere that said the park were going to delay the roller coaster till 2016? Might just be my memory playing tricks on me but I thought I read that somewhere...

I'm sorry to hear that you have had a similar experience, I totally understand how you feel and felt exactly the same, I dreaded going to work, I didn't want to be there, when I came home I constantly complained/was upset about my time spent there and then there's how my manager emails, texts and calls about work and covering him, you literally couldn't get away from the place even when you weren't working. I'm learning to drive and trying to do it as quick as I can so that this will aid in my job search, but even then it still seems frutile, I email dozens of gyms and centres with no response!

This for a discussion about the park which one gave us the one and only Mr Blobby. I was quite intrigued by there revamp of a dark ride that sounds good as they've worked with people who have worked with Universal Studios and Disney....
-
I've recently quit my job after constantly being treated poorly and trying to be forced into doing extra hours and covering shifts for nothing and in general the place was exceptionally poorly run but sadly nothing was clearly going to be done so I made the decision I could not continue to stay there as it was making me that unhappy, however I am now struggling to find new work, I'm hoping to find something in the leisure/fitness industry preferably, can anyone recommend some good job search websites?

Am I hoping to much to actually want purple smoke....

I definately agree, after all the effort made with the publication and viral advertising to create and build a clear theme, there doesn't really seem to be much theming at all, I suppose we should reserve judgement untill we see the inside of the building and queue line but the only real theming is the spider thing, which is great but you whizz past it now and again and that's really the only theming outside/ride wise which for an £18mil investment is dissapointing IMO

I find this series so funny and clever and it has an exceedingly large fanbase which is constantly growing, I love all the bitchiness and the lines they just have me in stitches, am I the only one who finds this hilarious, I've shown it to my friends and they weren't that bothered, It makes me laugh because I bet this is what the popstars are really like.

I just wondered talking with other people, am I the only one who gets annoyed at how human the show is? I'm not saying never visit earth or never go back in the earths history but when it's every other episode? And I find the show far to human character based, yes I know again humans will appear but I much prefer episodes where humans are far less featured as they should be, this is a show about exploring space and time, there should be constant aliens and they should feature more prominently! I actually really liked that episode with the girl being sacrificed to the alien for the planet, not story wise (the story and planet thing was terrible and a joke IMO) but there were so many aliens featured! Aliens everywhere! As I think it should be when doing a sci-fi show and all these going back in earths history and finding aliens involved with everything is rather dull by now!
