Exactly. An engineer at a rebar factory I used to work in sales for, said to me once he looked into working for Thorpe Park - but the salary wasn't anywhere near where it should be and was a mickey take!

Thorpe Park 2023
That new "Quiet space" spa that's free is going to become a (pop) badge of honour on the MAP group isn't it? Will be more abused than the RAP passes. I eagerly await the first "Loving the Thorpe Spa" picture followed by "were is this plz" and before you know it, it'll need it's own RAP queue.

End of May opening confirmed.

I would take a stab at "nowhere near as soon as Thorpe would like". Would be surprised if it's not until mid April at the earliest.. probably longer... Make no mistake, this is a monumental eff-up.

The Curse at Alton Manor - NEW for 2023
Minor detail but not really minor detail - how can a new attraction open and somehow the LED queue time board isn't installed and in place?
-
Ghost Train - NEW for 2023
Sure that's not for the menu's in the cafe?

The Curse at Alton Manor - NEW for 2023
I saw a 120 minute queue advertised early today 🤣

The Curse at Alton Manor - NEW for 2023
What do we reckon the queue is going to get to today? 180 mins?

Thorpe Park 2023
The new arrows to tell people where to go on Rush look good. About time the faded and pointless coloured dots were removed anyway, looked awful for years.

Thorpe Park 2023
Our queen is back 🙏 SRQs on Saw & TWD (I guess the latter makes sense so it avoids the must be in pairs rule).... Stealth coming soon (cos it's not like they've had all closed season to alter the queue lines) Lots of new food/drink things around park - shocks me how late they leave it though to build these things, and I know the video could have been filmed a little while ago but I doubt it. So... did that "Frost City" cocktail bar never open last year then? Didn't even know it existed, but then I guess I don't often go near the rides there other than Rush ❤️

If they could just get the new tarmac'ers round from CWoA that would be a start.

Merlin Annual Pass Facebook group
Sad to report that there will be an upcharge to access the Thorpe Park Annual Passholder group soon depending on your level of pass.

More rotten cladding/brickwork around RSJs a la Swarm I suppose? Completely agree the whole area needs a refresh, hopefully the Phalanx will take it over.

Dobble Tea Party / Storm In A Teacup
I keep reading this as Dobbie tea party. Rule number 1 of Dobby club is don't talk about Dobby club.

Alton Towers General Discussion
I mean they could add another Frog Hopper or two to add to the collection I guess? Also, one would assume they are unlikely to be considering a permanent flat ride anytime soon on the Enterprise site or they wouldn't have put down brick paving? Surely we can't have Retrosquad in 2024... Though I think I probably said the same last year.

Dobble Tea Party / Storm In A Teacup
Had to Google it, that's random AF. Assumed it was some chocolate bar/biscuit/drink from that graphic. Very odd!

Hyperia Speculation and Construction Thread
236: The Edge (of Glory), outdated Lady Gaga IP and "an Easter egg" to Stealth. Sorted.
-
2023 - World of Jumanji
When you factor in that approximately 92% of MAP holders also hold an RAP pass judging by the MAP group, the queues for this thing are gonna be GRIM.

2023 - World of Jumanji
Lots of talk of "lots of planting still to be done" and such but spoiler alert, plants need time to grow. Wouldn't surprise me if there isn't much more greenery come opening... Also according to Shane Sandwich, the garden bits around the logo aren't going to be fenced in, so cue hundreds of kids trampling and damaging the plants anyway...

Chessington 2023 season
I would genuinely be over the moon (no really) if Thorpe got new pathways like that, because so many of them are an absolute mess - in particular outside DBGTROTD into the "Jungle" area. Looks like a massive amount of work is being done at Chessie, good to see - maybe Thorpe will see the same for 2024 and Exodus vs 2023 and Jumanji - the work on Swarm would suggest they are at least aware of the state of the place!

Thorpe Park 2023
Very true - 2022 season seemed pretty decent for downtime at Thorpe, other than Dezza Brown having lots of bits broken but that now makes sense with GHOST TRAIN coming. Like has been said before though, with all those ageing flats, it's a bit of a ticking time bomb. But at least they HAVE flat rides

Ghost Train - NEW for 2023
Random thought - the concept art shows posters "giving a nod" (a phrase you may have not heard before) to other areas in the park - some past, some present - yet elsewhere it's been pointed out that tHe ISlAND LiKE nO OtHEr is no longer referring to areas by name/area any more signpost wise etc. Seems very Thorpe to me. In other news that shouldn't be in this thread but is, I see Containment shipping container is gone, and Depth Charge is getting a repaint - at least, the lower part of the tower. Impressive.

Alton Towers General Discussion
I see from the latest drone video thing on the Youtube that... Funk & Fly doesn't appear to be in place yet and maybe isn't coming back Enterprise is well and truly gone Sub Terra has a brand new queue line 😵 Also from the video - the Smiler track don't 'arf need a repaint now - it looks orange in parts....! Seems to have weathered far worse than SAW.
