Wonder how much DBGTROTD merch they sell...

So... with all the positive vaccine news and such - the most important question is - do we expect Creek Freak Massacre to be back next year, and back inside where it belongs? ❤️ I personally would be pretty damn certain that's the case.

Don't give Merlin ideas. Swarm: Brave it Spinny & Backwards (Sometimes) coming 2022.
-
There's no physical card for this pass, it's saved on your phone - does this mean you now have to wear your phone on your lanyard all day to prove you are not just a normal standard guest and one of the elite?

I've heard it's going to be called Crocodile Rock instead as that doesn't break any trademarks. Laaaaaaa, la la la laaaaaa....

The island behind Swam baffles me - it's not cheap whatsoever to create an island, one can only assume they must have had plans to put something there a few years after Swarm, but I guess like Operational Directors, plans and management change! From one year to the next, it would seem.... Thopre trying to eek out no "big" investment for a couple of years at least whilst also trying to attract visitiors is going to be... a challenge. There's only so many times you can rebrand or rename something or stick an overlay over the top...

With regards to vaccine, Ticketmaster etc. - as has been said, it's the most vulnerable and oldest first, then likely to go down the age groups, with those with underlying health conditions higher up the queue - I really can't see 90% of Thorpe's visitors even being able to get a vaccine until back end of 2021. With that in mind I agree with above - can't see 2021 being hugely different to this year to start with at least but I would like to think that Fright Nights will be back to something resembling normality. I think rapid testing & over the counter testing is what's going to "unlock" events, holidays, normality in the short term. That said, there's no doubt the progress on vaccines is fantastic - and that's with just 2 of the current plethora getting to this crucial stage of testing. 2021 is definitely a lot more positive! But, I still don't think that fifth green light on Stealth will be fixed.

Did someone say second drop tower? 😱😂 Black Mirror is an interesting one, depends on how good the ventilation is I suppose, and how many surfaces are there that you touch - but if it's mask complusory, sanitize before entry.... it could work... but the throughputs though... I dread to think! In fact, I dread to think about those without any social distacing regulations!

I'm leaving this forum and going to somewhere decent like TowersTimes.

If restrictions allow, we are 100% going back to Japan next year... we've got the savings, we had New York planned in March (non theme park related holiday obvs) - but we agree we want a BIG holiday now as soon as opportunity allows! Ahhhh, DisneySea ❤️

Not for me son, I'm going through all the hilarious moments featuring A**x Cr**p on old TPWW videos.

How potentially Covid-secure is the Black Mirror eXPEriEncE, does anyone know? My guess is "not very".... apologies if this isn't the correct thread for this but maybe discussion and speculation about 2021 season is acceptable! Going to be interesting how that pans out - if they can't open it, will they have a backup plan/something else new for 2021? One would assume not. A lot can happen in 5 months... I do think next Spring/Summer is going to be different - not "normal" by any stretch... I guess the big next step is over-the-counter covid tests - in theory that could open up a lot of things... What fate will DBGTROTD have next year? Am I right in saying that 2021 is the last year that the IP is valid before renewal? I would assume XTWDTR will remain shut whilst social distancing is a "thing" because of the fact each car needs to have 4 people. I'm glad I got to visit Thorpe twice and Towers this year, was very much needed for a slice of some semblence of normality after a rollercoaster (LOL!!!) year. And to conclude: I maintain that the loaded fries, hot dog and drink deal at Wilderness Bar & Restaurant is the best value on park. And if you told me at the start of the year that you'd be able to get a pint of Spaten at Thorpe Park, I'd tell ya to get outta Old Town and buy me a VIP Parking space.

Where is the Fright Nights 2021 thread, this forum is a DISGRACE!

We visited the island like no other on Monday 19th October, so here goes a little review. The park was quiet - almost too quiet as us oldies can't handle doing all the park's coasters in 30 minutes with no queue, where as at Towers - you have the walk to the next coaster to give you some respite Ride count: Swarm x2 Stealth x5 Inferno x2 Colossus x1 Rapids x2 Depth Charge x2 Rush x1 Think that was everything - we didn't do Saw as we were shattered haha. Have to say - Stealth is still as good as ever, and there's nothing better than a front row ride in the dark. Or at any time for that matter. So so good. Did Colossus first, first public train of the day and front of the queue so we had front row - and I have to say - if you lean forward into the harness, it was almost quite fun! We did Platform 15 and there were some very very good jump scares, would suggest perhaps they leave a little bit more of a gap between the groups as we had to hang back a bit a few times, but overall, was pretty good. Worth £10? No, more like £6-8 but still glad we did it in these UncErtAiN TiMEs. All things considered, I think Thorpe did very well with the scare zone format - had great interaction in the Fearstival arena and also with Amity High. Creak Freak was a good laugh but made me pine for the original - happy memories of being thrown down the "bad wood" tunnel and my mate telling the Buckwheats to call me a "prat" The actors around Swarm were great but I think calling that a "scare zone" was pushing it a bit - but got taken to one side by a solider and interrogated, which was quite impressive. Lycanthorpe cast were enthusiastic but wasn't really busy enough in that area to have much interaction but maybe that's not the case on busier days. Saw the Crows at one point and they are mighty impressive with their costumes. Samurai seems to be living it's best life at the moment, it's on a very long cycle! Also, the food in Wilderness Bar? Is that what it's called - previously Bush BBQ - £9 for a loaded hot dog, all be it a Rollover, plus loaded lattice fries and a drink is pretty damn good value I have to say for a Theme Park. Sure, it was a filthy meal but it did the trick! Like I say - I think it was a pretty decent effort all things considered by Thorpe, and whatever happens, I hope the Oktoberfest -> Fright Nights/Scarefest format remains next year at Thorpe & Towers, because it's quite a seamless transition including the stage and side stalls, and in my opinon, really works well. Also as a random point, the revised design on the queue boards (both on park and in the dome/screens in Infinity) is a lot better and clearer, good work there. Would have loved to have seen how the "original" Fright Night's 2020 would have panned out - but either way, am glad that there are no IP branded mazes anymore, and I would imagine that's the plan going forward due to the cost of licensing.

Twitter would seem to suggest that today is "that Sunday". Really don't envy the staff and actors tonight :(

See you there, I'll be wearing my TPWW mask and SLKSTN x XNWO hoodie.

👀 👀 👀 Classified information.

Can't wait for press night tonight, see you there lads.

I think the word of the day for Fright Nights and Scarefest is repurposing 🙃
-
It's tomorrow, just waiting for my confirmation of attendance thanks to "nearly 400 followers" on my instagram.

Will they close the Guest Services queue early so MAPpers can't compain about the main queues being closed early? If you are in the Guest Services queue after 8pm will you still be allowed to complain about the queues closing at 8pm resulting in a one shot fastrack for a ride that is not usable as the ride queues closed at 8pm? So many questions! 😃

Not sure if I'm going to make it to Fright Nights this year or not.... if I do go, it'll be Friday 16th after reading reviews from this Friday - bit concerned though that no days will be "quiet" this year, and I'm not sure I want to take that risk after forking out £42 + £10 per maze plus parking.... And also, what JoshC said - there's no way people are queuing in that tunnel.
