Official name revealed to be RMC: Really Massive Coaster as a nod - an "easter egg" if you will - as to what people would like to be built. That aside, I agree - would imagine this is going to be theming light, trying to save some £s after the future of theme parks in The Dockyard (TM) didn't quite hit the mark/was an absolute and catastrophic failure and waste of money (delete as appropriate) I jest really mind you - I am every excited that the THORPE PARK RESORT is finally getting something new, and hopefully this will tie in with more tidying up, repainting and improvements that seem to be happening at Chessie & Towers. (That said of course, a moment's silence please for the new Tidal Wave fire effect)

What I love about the Swarm is how it's been so well looked after, with the queueline TVs and the station roof theming looking as good and fresh as the day it was installed 😏 That said - the ride itself is a ruddy beaut, with that flippy over roundy drop (FORD) after the lift hill (LH) never failing to excite, it's fantastic. Smooth as butter and I'm here for it 😍

I know that the food stand is going to be called Exod-Ices.
-
Icon's doing a Swarm innit. I remember the days of having a queue time for Swarm Backwards as well as forwards 😂

They've painted the entrance sign this year.

Looks like a load of dumped shingle/hardstanding to me, almost certainly for storage, site offices etc. One would assume the loggers trough that's underneath it next to the CFM/LL station building will be the very last piece of Loggers that'll be removed (and then cut into slices to sell as merch innit). I eagerly await the Peepy Poop guy to say something along the lines of: Exodus has something in STORE, and the ROAD maybe shorter then you think. Buckwheats or out of luckwheats Rocky or just rocks Time will tell. Who's Ghost Train is it? (oh hold up went off on a tangent there)

The Merlin vlogstar phrase of 2021 🥰 Bants aside, looking forward to this, as Jack & Co. clearly have a passion for what they do and for theme parks. I just sincerely hope they are remunerated accordingly and fairly by Merlin because credit where credit is due, their promos and videos that have been commissioned are pretty darn good quality.

Forget the Dr. Who IP, I just want Karen Gillan Land plz.

Should've called it VBS BR ND KTCHN like all the cool kidz.

2nd Detty tower finally happening.

Other than "easter egg", the much over-used phrase that THORPE PARK RESORT and associated #spon Vloggers seem to love to use is "a nod to". e.g. Slammer being left to rot in position is a nod to the fact it used to operate there The new gas effect for 2021 on Tidal Wave that doesn't work is a nod to the far better one that used to work "a nod to" is most often used in FRIGHT NIGHTS coverage of mazes also, and in this context has a different meaning, as here it means "some old stuff we found in the warehouse we'd shove in a new maze" But back to the subject matter, I concur with @JoshC.'s theory of a double dippy super mega fun time loggers tHRoWbAck.

The cheek, the nerve, the gall, the audacity and the gumption of saying "NEW" on the map.

Booked my "RIP" ticket on Friday - £95 + £2 booking fee - have to say, if it wasn't for the £10 food voucher included, I'd be a little less inclined to do so (the £15 merch voucher is a nice bonus) - but that said, now there's a completely new haunt coming, I'd be gutted to miss it. The prices are ramping up quite quickly - but it would appear this year they intend to do the "theme park" style haunts as they say, meaning you aren't limited to just one run through on the XScream Pass ticket. They talked about this last year and then it never happened - if they do go down this route, it could be detrimental to those paying out for the higher priced tickets so will have to see how it goes. That said, every year we've used the RIP package, the number of people in front us waiting in the fasttrack queue is normally 0-5 people... We were a bit underwhelmed in 2021 but perhaps that was because we went on opening night and the actors hadn't bedded in - or, they didn't have enough actors yet because Covid - so this year will wait until the week after I think. Interested to see what the new haunt will be - hopefully something completely different to anything else. The Island last year for us was probably the weakest maze there.... Coven being the strongest. Also - just spotted I basically said a lot of this a few posts ago, ha!

20 million quid? Should have just saved a bit more cash and got a DBGT clone, as that's the future of theme parks.
-
The first coaster themed to Ru Paul's Drag Race UK?
-
The Bigger One.
-
Wouldn't be Dr. Who due to cost cutting but on a completely unrelated theme, the new ride will be based around a new original MMM character called GP Whatnow.
-
Parm Pap's posts clearly say to me that the Derren Brown IP is being extended due to it's incredible success, and the new coaster will form part of Derren Brown Land, featuring the UK's first coaster themed around a mind control man.
-
Literally zero surprises that there's nothing to see in Old Town and that P15 is still sitting there basically untouched.
-
Very true - and that's saying something considering Merlin love the run down/abandoned "theme"! New area should be called HappyHappyShinyNewClean Town.
-
What I think would be a brilliant addition would be a Top Spin to eat up those queues! Small footprint too.
-
Anyone know how big the RAP queueline is for the new coaster please, cheers.
-
I don't doubt you, but how do you know this? That would be good if the case.
-
This is true. Shawn Sanbrooke has bought it to put in his back garden next to the World of Theme Parks.

So the first wave of Tulleys tickets go on sale this Friday... VIP last year (well... 2020 price) was £84 plus fees, this year it's £95 plus fees. Quite a hike, and that's from a Tulleys fanboi. £95 will give you, I assume the £10 food voucher, £5 drink voucher and t-shirt (worth £10-12) so you could argue that takes it down to £70 ish... we normally manage 20 or so total run throughs, so £3.50 a maze is still good value I guess! I'm sure people will still pay the prices - I know we certainly will - but this year Tulleys didn't quite do it for me vs. 2019. Think that may well be because we went on day 1 when the staff haven't quite found their footing (or, Tulleys haven't found enough staff!) EDIT: It's now a £10 food voucher and £15 merch token for 2022.
