  1. Blimey that is a first suggesting a reopening date! Always dangerous though mentioning dates...
  2. The official line will be that they won't update - they never do, the ride will just re-open!
  3. Yes would have no hesitation in paying out for Brave It Alone again - well worth the money. And I normally hate add-on pay attractions Similarly, I'm a fan of Containment too!
  4. I think Big Top got a lot of unnecessary flak - I quite enjoyed it last year - the Brave It Alone was certainly worth the extra money!
  5. It's actually 21 years old this year - so it's basically dead anyway. Place your bets for removal date considering Ripsaw was disposed of this year and was 2 years younger than Ramases.
  6. Hold the front page, Depth Charge was down yesterday and could be down today too #WheresMyCompo
  7. Oh MĀ£rlin, why do you make it so easy to hate you?
  8. Another IP does frustrate me... Merlin can do unique, strong brands without them - The Smiler being a case in point.
  9. Good to hear Lorikeet Lagoon is still going strong <3
  10. Flying Fish is now open. I'd be very surprised if Stealth is still closed by 26th September!
  11. Should cheer up those wanting to ride Stealth
  12. By the way, hope Hashtag Stormzy got a free return ticket because Stealth was down when he rented the park
  13. Whatever happens - I think it's safe to say DBGT needs to be running "as intended" and to full capacity 2 months from now or the social media and guest relations team will be kept very busy.
  14. Before someone says "people only go on social media to complain" - I don't think that's true with theme park rides (or "experiences") - if something is awesome, they'll tag people saying "OMG we gotta ride dis again" or use it to say they've been on it and was good just for point-scoring to show they've done something new to their m8s (Social media is shallow innit).
  15. Those queues probably aren't helped by the breakdowns though to be fair
  16. Yes I wanted to hang around on the platform a bit longer to take it all in - which obviously doesn't fit the story
  17. Cheers for the clarification MilesK - that bodes well for the future at least. Hopefully this temporary VR won't cause too much damage to the rides reputation in the meantime.
  18. I rarely ride Colossus anyway but the thought of riding it standing up gives me - and my back - nightmares
  19. That's encouraging to know, MilesK - but it does beg the question, if this thing had 250,000 people working on it or whatever figure was in the PR, and if VR was so key to whole thing, why on EARTH would it be rushed at the last minute? I can't even...
  20. Where did you hear/read this, out of interest? I admit DB hasn't exactly been particularly vocal about it now it's open. Good to have a well constructed first post btw - and I mean that without any sarcasm, always like to read actual discussion and comment I reviewed the ride a fair few pages back. I wanted to love it, but ultimately didn't and found the overall "ride" average and a bit of a mish mash and a mess - billed as something it's not as messing with your mind etc. (but then I guess that's PR for you). Must reiterate though - visually and theming wise, in terms of the underground train(s), the stunning Victorian "hanging" train, the building, the station platforms and the preshow, it's pretty top notch and I was very much impressed and "wowed" - the actual content of the ride/experience though, not so much
  21. Not having been to CWoa this year - does the rest of the Safari Skyway track remain in place other than in the photo above?
  22. Put me down as a maybe for this - which could make it a record 3 visits in one year to the Island Like No Other
  23. Just reading Creeky's report - doesn't Paulton's look ruddy lovely? (on the whole). Gutted I had to change my plans and not attend, but my other half wouldn't have been happy if she's got back from being away for a week only to find me out for the day One thing I noticed about Paultons - not a shipping container in sight! Don't they know that they are all the rage?

    Logger's Leap

I would bet my non existent annual pass that Loggers just sits there doing nothing in 2017. I know for one thing that in parts the ride is being kept up with acrowprops - which are only meant to be temporary - which suggests that structurally Loggers needs work long-term. Just got to wait for Merlin to do the number crunching now. Luckily there haven't been any costly delays and modifications to new rides at Thorpe this year to eat up the budget... oh wait
