  1. Thorpe Park just tweeted a picture that shows a 200 minute queue. That is scary.
  2. Yep I'm yet to ride but my sister who was HYpEd to ride it left feeling a bit unimpressed... she said it was good but not as she amazing as she hoped - and she's not an "enthusiast". She said she didn't really "get it" and it made little sense.
  3. I got bored of waiting for the ride to open so decided to read the spoilers as I'd lost the hype. I could've/would've stayed away if it had been open for my visit in May (meaning a week of not reading things) - I don't go to Thorpe more than once or twice a year and don't have an AP After reading about it though - it does sound impressive and the delays now would make sense as it does sound a bit of a challenge technology wise. Sounds like a proper opening is a little way off still - my sister went on at the weekend and said her VR headset wasn't loud enough and didn't work correctly.

    Slammer

Slammer appears to have been down since 27th June - has she slammed for the final time?
  5. They've shut the queue - which is fair enough if the queue is estimated at 2+ hours.
  6. I can't believe it's coming up to 50 days since I visited and hoped to ride. And yes, just because it's been open doesn't mean there haven't been problems behind the scenes. I still maintain that the ride won't fully open without 7-10 days notice from Thorpe Park, they need to build up the "Hype train" again!
  7. Well that was some awful timing buying that Pinfari Also not what Oakwood need... What's up with Speed? "Closed" (according to the website) sounds far more ominous than "Unavailable" (Bounce)
  8. Indeed - I'm actually genuinely excited to ride the thing again now. I wouldn't have read spoilers if it had opened when it was supposed to mind you, as I would've only had to stay away from them for a week! Leaked info isn't too difficult to find.
  9. I'm heading back to Thorpe for MOS Meet on 23rd July - and to think that my source joked that I should be alright to ride DBGT by then when I chatted to him at the end of April regarding my visit mid-May and the chance of me riding DBGT for mid-May being zero! At this rate, it could've only been open a couple of weeks
  10. I guess if you are staying in the shipping container hotel then TP will have your details... so it wouldn't be too difficult to work out/find whoever leaked something.
  11. I'm pleasantly surprised/infuriated (delete as appropriate) that none of the hotel guests who have ridden it have leaked anything to social media about it - I know that NDA's are about but I'm sure the Staines massive don't care about those
  12. Some sort of explosion/gas leak in the first room I assume.
  13. Press release on social media will go something like: "We are excited as you are to finally ride the new Derren Brown's Ghost Train at THORPE PARK RESORT. However, we anticipate the experience being extremely popular, and because of this we will be introducing a pre-booked timed ticket system to minimise queues and ensure everyone has a fair chance of boarding during their visit to THORPE PARK. Only those with a prebooked ticket will be able to board DERREN BROWN'S GHOST TRAIN until further notice."
  14. Timed tickets to me would imply they are concerned about throughput which can only mean that not all of the vehicles are ready... Bit of a double edged sword if it does open with timed tickets - people are happy because they get to get on if they bag a slot, but then, those who don't know about the system will be narked, complain to customer services and be given Fastrack for something.
  15. It's no DBGT entrance though is it, tbh Looks bloody awesome!
  16. They won't just open it unannounced, there'll be 10-14 days notice so everyone can get on board the #hypetrain.

Like this, evidently. "Alton Towers 'Secret Weapon 8': Plans emerge for new rollercoaster on anniversary of Smiler ride crash" http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/alton-towers-secret-weapon-8-8110784

I feed you the set-ups and you deliver the punchlines, Joshua, good work
  19. So it is! I'm going to book a £15 ticket now A website glitch in our favour for a change... All booked, no going back, bring on the overpriced commercial drinks...
  20. I'm definitely interested because Stealth is bae as the kidz say. The idea of ERT and BTS on Stealth fills my bag holding heart with glee. The Stealth Photoshoot meet is still one my fave things ever <3

That mock up makes SW8 look like a rather nice garden centre
  22. The question is, to book the early bird for £15 or ride it out and hope for even cheaper tickets...

My question is - how are the press going to tediously link SW8 construction to the Smiler accident?
  24. I predict that "SUSPENDED" on the queue time sign will now be in lower case, that will really get the forums buzzing.
  25. Or suspended like the big massive carriage in the middle of that warehouse?
