  1. Yes I wanted to hang around on the platform a bit longer to take it all in - which obviously doesn't fit the story
  2. Cheers for the clarification MilesK - that bodes well for the future at least. Hopefully this temporary VR won't cause too much damage to the rides reputation in the meantime.
  3. I rarely ride Colossus anyway but the thought of riding it standing up gives me - and my back - nightmares
  4. That's encouraging to know, MilesK - but it does beg the question, if this thing had 250,000 people working on it or whatever figure was in the PR, and if VR was so key to whole thing, why on EARTH would it be rushed at the last minute? I can't even...
  5. Where did you hear/read this, out of interest? I admit DB hasn't exactly been particularly vocal about it now it's open. Good to have a well constructed first post btw - and I mean that without any sarcasm, always like to read actual discussion and comment I reviewed the ride a fair few pages back. I wanted to love it, but ultimately didn't and found the overall "ride" average and a bit of a mish mash and a mess - billed as something it's not as messing with your mind etc. (but then I guess that's PR for you). Must reiterate though - visually and theming wise, in terms of the underground train(s), the stunning Victorian "hanging" train, the building, the station platforms and the preshow, it's pretty top notch and I was very much impressed and "wowed" - the actual content of the ride/experience though, not so much
  6. Not having been to CWoa this year - does the rest of the Safari Skyway track remain in place other than in the photo above?
  7. Put me down as a maybe for this - which could make it a record 3 visits in one year to the Island Like No Other

Just reading Creeky's report - doesn't Paulton's look ruddy lovely? (on the whole). Gutted I had to change my plans and not attend, but my other half wouldn't have been happy if she's got back from being away for a week only to find me out for the day One thing I noticed about Paultons - not a shipping container in sight! Don't they know that they are all the rage?

I would bet my non existent annual pass that Loggers just sits there doing nothing in 2017. I know for one thing that in parts the ride is being kept up with acrowprops - which are only meant to be temporary - which suggests that structurally Loggers needs work long-term. Just got to wait for Merlin to do the number crunching now. Luckily there haven't been any costly delays and modifications to new rides at Thorpe this year to eat up the budget... oh wait
  10. It's not moving to Thorpe but I can confirm they are adding it to Dragons Fury to make it double the length
  11. No worries
  12. Eh? This is the HSE improvement notice that the Riderater site is talking about: http://www.hse.gov.uk/notices/notices/Notice_details.asp?SF=CN&SV=307127123 Which state's it's relating to Twinlakes.
  13. http://www.hse.gov.uk/notices/notices/Notice_details.asp?SF=CN&SV=307127123 Here it is. And if you want to look at all amusement/theme park notices: http://www.hse.gov.uk/notices/notices/notice_list.asp?rdoNType=&NT=&SN=F&EO=LIKE&SF=SICD&SV=aMUSEMENT+PARKS&x=0&y=0&ST=N EDIT: http://www.hse.gov.uk/notices/notices/Notice_details.asp?SF=CN&SV=306419423
  14. That's quite possible, yes. More downtime really isn't good, especially during peak season. However, I'm sure these issues are not the fault of Merlin whatsoever and of course lie with the contractors who built the ride, as is normally assumed...
  15. Fishy is down today, that's THREE main attractions down
  16. It does look incredibly close to the SAW track in those photos. Of course we don't know exactly where guests will/won't be able to go.

Archive, think I've said it before but your posts are so spot on.
  18. 24 days since Stealthageddon, FYI.

    I don't do teacups. Ever.
  20. So that'll probably be never?

I can imagine Thorpe adding extra endings to DBGT and then they can advertise as "Improved for 2017" - "Extra journeys for 2017" etc... Or, just make it go backwards if it doesn't perform well.

Yep - the word "hope" is very important there...
  23. This photo was taken after our last ride at MoS night, and Stealth has not worked since. I did mislay my Amity Kebab and the remains of a Stella Cidre shortly before our rides but I swear this is not connected with any ride availability.
  24. ^ This. My heartfelt opinion is that Loggers is never coming back...
  25. Just to butt in and say - S6s aren't waterproof, but S7s are... so probably a better decision using those
