  1. The theming is quite good, although I do feel that they have left it to rot too much on Inferno (even with the slight improvements that had been made this year).

There were smoke effects in X today. One thing I did pick up on though (which is quite frankly hilarious,) the NEW queue board is showing "X:/ No Way Out!" Only Thorpe...

Some seats have belts that tighten throughout the ride for some reason. It was quite a problem at the beginning of last season (when it was new) if I remember rightly, but it seems as if it has been sorted mostly this season - only a few seats do that now I believe.
  4. Exactly, and the average attendance rate (I believe) is 12,000 visitors, the majority of which use the monorail. It's capacity is not high enough.

Yes but staff should just say to the stupid guests "This queue is called SINGLE RIDERS, it clearly states that you cannot ride in your group" and whilst it doesn't work on Air I can see it working well on The Smiler. (As long as it is like Nemesis with a queueline into the station rather than holding people back in the queue, as that is just a silly system to be honest...)
  6. Well exactly, a throughput increase would be good because the queue is usually ridiculously big for it! (I know it basically has to take most people going to the park but that is even more reason for the throughput to be increased in my opinion).
  7. Can't believe they ripped out a classic coaster for something that is aparrently (from what I have heard) rough, horrible and probably won't even bring more people into the park!
  8. Coaster replied to th13teen's topic in UK Attractions
Why?! It doesn't cause any harm to guests in the normal queue, and nobody is forcing you to use single rider! All it does is provides a better service for guests who don't mind splitting up or are on their own. If they got rid of the single rider on Nemesis then people who go on the ride multiple times would only get on once or twice in a day! It really isn't doing any harm...
  9. Would be good if they advertised that then!! IMO it should be just like any other theme park when you turn up and just walk in, rather than having to queue up for a monorail etc... There are plenty of places where the car park is right next to parts of the park, so the park should have been designed for the entrance to be where you can just walk in.
  10. Because the reason for them not getting the same returns might be because they are not spending. (I know they built Zufari, but I can't see it bringing many more people to the park like a new rollercoaster would, especially when it's not even that good...)
  11. ERT at Towers is pretty pointless, you spend most of the time getting into the park. (And don't even get me started on that rant, most stupid park entrance system ever! Clearly just put in to make money from the express parking!)

Ok thanks, I was just asking out of curiosity. That's a bit poor though tbh!

Surely the staff get paid overtime though?

I guess the "flying experience" will be Plane Crazy?

Valhalla. I'm looking forward to The Smiler but I hope it isn't as rough as Saw - with a layout as compact as that it would be quite painful. I would also like to see part of the queueline indoors and themed similarly to The Sanctuary, but with a rushed job I doubt that will happen.
  16. I think they have yes, but I'm not sure they do it everyday. I have visited three times so far this season and the gates have opened before 10 on all 3 occasions

I'm not sure about fastrack (I don't buy it) but there is a completley separate queueline for the backwards rows, you just turn up and queue for it as you would for the forwards rows.

I agree with this, if a small park in the middle of nowhere exactly (Oakwood) can manage it, Thorpe should be able to...
  19. X

Does anyone know the name of the music that they are using in X this year? (Or is it Thorpe's own?) Parts of it can be heard in this video (not mine): http://youtu.be/qWzVBGG3p1s
  20. A coaster doesn't have to have just airtime - it could have other features as well. Just not a destruction / rust is theming theme this time...
  21. I was talking about when they installed the ride rather than adding them now, and I wasn't being completley serious, just saying that it is an "Inferno" and fire effects would suit it.
  22. Haven't seen/heard about that in a while but I remember it being a big problem back in 2009/2010. Wonder what causes it?
  23. Coaster replied to Dan9's topic in UK Attractions
I know many people who like it. Doesn't mean that I expect everyone to like it and claim it to be the best ride ever! (As opposed to your "a pile of crap.")
  24. Coaster replied to Dan9's topic in UK Attractions
Yes, but just because you don't like it, doesn't make it a pile of crap! You are one person, you don't represent everyone's views.
  25. Coaster replied to Aarron P's topic in UK Attractions
I'm sure they will, I very much doubt they would leave it like that!
