  1. Different people have different opinions. Personally I think that X:/No way out a great ride, but it has more potential in terms of effects etc... As for Storm surge, I'm not bothered really as to what they do with it. The fact that it usually has a big queue just means less people on the other rides in my opinion (If Storm surge still had functional spinners on the slide and it wasn't so ugly then I would like it - when it opened last year I thought it was good but now that it doesn't spin it is completley boring.)
  2. I can only guess that it means 64 people on the ride at any one time? (When all trains are full)
  3. Thank you for the review. Are there still actors with gas masks on in Experiment 10 like last year? Because for me really that was the main fear factor of the maze. Also is the queueline music for The Asylum still the same?
  4. Does anyone know the on the day price for The Passing? Is it £3 or more?

    Slammer

This is great news that Slammer is back in action - it will be a must do when I visit for Fright nights!
  6. Maybe halloween songs around the park, but in the maze queues? No way, they need to keep the theme music!
  7. They had better not get rid of the Asylum queueline theme...
  8. Thank you for the updates When is the construction of the track supposed to begin?
  9. Yes I was at Thorpe today as well - very quiet with minimal queues
  10. The well themed exit to Asylum has had it's doors replaced. I went today and they were putting on doors with no theming whatsoever - hopefully this will change before next weekend. The Asylum entrance also has fake barbed wire across it now - an improvement.
  11. Trip report from today. (Sunday 7th October) Park was fairly quiet resulting in quite a good ride count. We also had a look at the construction of the Fright night mazes. RIDECOUNT: The Swarm x8 X:/No way out x5 Nemesis Inferno x3 Saw: The ride x2 Stealth x2 Colossus x1 Vortex x1 HIGHLIGHTS: - Finally getting on a Train on The Swarm where the fire effects go off! It is amazing seeing it both offride and onride. The fire effects were going off every 5 or so trains all day - A good ridecount including most rides in the Front seat at least once. - Park not busy at all - The Swarm being walk on for 5 out of our 8 rides today. - Fright nights mazes are having their finishing touches put on them now. LOWLIGHTS: - Vortex broke down today and on our ride (after it re-opened) it was not going to full height - making it not worth going on tbh. - They were replacing the well themed double doors (exit of Asylum) with new ones that were just plain wood. Hopefully these get themed at some point before next week. - Colossus having a temporary delay due to "foilage in the way." It has just been closed for essential maintenance! Surley they would have checked then? - No music in the X:/ No way out queueline. Overall a great day and I can't wait for Fright nights!
  12. Looking at The Passing sign, I'm sure that it will light up. If you look closely you can see a wire dangling from the right hand side of the sign. We will have to wait and see As for the Fright nights version of the Thorpe website, it's good to see that they are doing this. Let's hope we see some theming inside the ride stations this year - there hasn't been any for a few years now.
  13. Hasn't worked on any of my visits either. It's a shame because it looked good
  14. I still prefer the Asylum's logo and sign to this to be honest.
  15. Had a quick look at the construction yesterday, coming on well Sorry, I didn't take and photos. Next time I will try to remember a camera
  16. While it would be good to see a world's first, I don't think that it needs to have one to be a good coaster.
  17. They weren't too bad actually - although Dragon's fury obviously had a fairly big queue given that it had been closed for a few days and in the morning. Apart from Fury, the most we queued for any ride was 30 mins - although some were almost walk on.
  18. October is now upon us! Roll on Fright nights
  19. The face on the website happened to me as well! But it won't come up again.
  20. Just a quick update: - Dragon falls was open all day today. (x3) - Dragon's fury opened in the afternoon (x1)
  21. Not very good. I'm going to Chessington today so I will write on here later telling you whether either ride re-opened today.
  22. I have been turned away from the Asylum before due to "technical problems"
  23. Who spotted the SW7 face?
  24. The horror theme on Saw isn't very scary to be honest, as long as you cover your ears as soon as you walk in the building (loud shotgun effect) the rest isn't scary at all really.
