  1. River quest looks so much better than when I was there a few years ago. I'm glad they've added more theming as it looked quite bare compared to all the other rides there.
  2. PortAventura have posted a few pictures on their instagram today of Ferrari land construction, including a shot with the trains of the accelerator which seem to have Taron style lapbars <3
  3. They are in dire need of a new coaster, so do you think and indoor one could fit in the bubbleworks warehouse? I know it's not very tall, but could be a junior launch coaster of some sort?
  4. I went on twice today, and considering its been officially ope for less than a week I felt really let down by it. Especially after my great rides during rehearsals. The amount of headsets that are broken already is madness, I had one train today where an entire section of the train was broken. My friend also had to hold his headset to his face as the strap was broken on one. Hopefully these broken headsets are just technical errors that they can get sorted quickly
  5. I can't see this having too bad of a throughput when up and running at full capacity, not as good as the coasters but not bad by a long shot. It seems to me that they send a group of 40 in every 3-4 minutes or so.
  6. Can anyone confirm that they're now using both endings?
  7. I think the rectangular motion is probably the most efficient as they could effectively have 4 groups inside at once
  8. It's open for rehearsals again today, just got in the queue
  9. As far as I'm aware that has been happening all weekend, they even have a sign at the turnstiles saying it will be unavailable that has been there over the weekend
  10. I'm on park today and staff are saying it's planned to open for rehearsals again today
  11. And there we have it, track is complete! http://t.co/5xQun4C74Q From Alton Towers twitter

  13. Either Blue Fire or Silver Star for me. Both really comfy and not too intense.
  14. I went yesterday, and I was very disspaointed with the passing. It seems they rely far too heavily on the bag scaring people. If, like me, you are fine with the bag then the maze is a complete let down with the only interesting bits being the tunnel and the two actors who put the bag on your head. It was far too light inside the maze and you could see perfectly well with the bag on. The ending is pointless aswell and seeing as you have to pay for the maze I felt thoroughly let down. If this returns next year they really need to up the standard. Experiment 10 however was amazing. Having missed this last year I was determined to go on this time round. It starts off with quite a long introduction to what the experiment is about (eyes being windows to the soul) with the actor picking out and interacting with a few people in the group. Next was the decontamination chamber that filled with smoke and then went dark. The extraction fans then kicked in and the lights cam back on. I thought this was quite an interesting effect even if it wasn't very scary. Two actors burst in and start picking people to go left or right. They then pushed everyone into separate cells that were pitch black, and me, my cousin and my brother each had something different in our cells. Mine had string from the ceiling and sprayed quite a lot of water at me, my cousin got water dripped on him constantly whilst my brother supposedly had an actor in there who was breathing down his neck. After about a minute and a half we were let out and I was pushed down a tunnel with actors appearing through windows and shining torches at us. The next room was where the group met back up and what followed was you general scare maze with patients grabbing you and asking for help. You then go through some doors into the end scene, which is a tv screen with a doctor getting ready to operate on a patient, and the patient gets up and picks up a buzz saw and kills the doctor. Then an actor runs out and shouts at everyone to get out while you still can. I was extremely impressed with this maze especially the splitting of the group and putting you on your own. The asylum was also very good although it didn't seem to have changed much from last year, it was still filled with smoke and mainly made up of wire fences and mirrors. Still a very strong maze. Last year I also missed out the curse, so wanted to try it out this year. I had heard bad things about it so I went in expecting the worst, but it turned out to be quite good. The experience was made better by the four men at the front of the group who screamed in terror at everything and kept trying to back away from the actors. We had to literally push them through the maze. All in all the maze was quite good, and not as bad as I'd heard. I was also surprised at the short queues for the major rides, with the swarm being almost walk-on at night so we got three night rides on that and then nemesis inferno was also walk-on so we had two rides on that.
  15. The passing tickets are collection only. You need to go to advance ticket collection to the right of the gates. All the information you need is on the booking confirmation email

    Slammer

I seriously hope that's true as I'm at the park tomorrow and would really like one last ride on it before closed season
  17. That recreation makes it look quite slow. Although love these Mack Megacoasters after riding Blue Fire
  18. No stealth or Colossus for the whole day? That really is a very poor show Thorpe... Gone slightly off topic however :-s
  19. The bag over the head isn't even new in the UK, Tulley's farm had a new maze last year where this happened. It also sounds like the same storyline, a bag over your head as you walk towards your execution
  20. For people who have phobias, it is very easy to scare them using it. But as for making other people afraid if they don't suffer from the phobia it's a bit more difficult. Clowns have been done to death so I really hope there are no clowns inside. Spiders can be done quite well, and depending on how it's done will scare people without arachnophobia. Claustrophobia is a given for any scare maze. I personally would like them to give hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia a go
  21. Please tell me it's not closed tomorrow. First visit in over 2 months so I'm gonna see the fire and new theming for the first time
  22. I'm just going to add that The Swarm hurt in the rain, more than any other ride( bar Stealth front row). Also last time I went in the rain, Colossus was the only one to close throughout the day because of the weather, and it was quite heavy at one point
