Park Operations
Just to flip this slightly on Sunday I witnessed a chavvy looking woman really laying into a staff member because of certain rides that are closed. I've never witnessed such rudeness before (I'm sure TP staff probably get it a lot). The staff member looked quite young and handled the situation really well but the guest wouldn't shut up - I was about to go up to the guest and tell her to wind her neck in but she started walking away while the poor girl was still explaining why Stealth was shut. She pretty much blamed this one staff member for certain rides being closed.

Logger's Leap
I did Slammer twice and Loggers twice on Sunday in case they are unavailable next year. X I'm not bothered about tbh so I didn't ride it. lots of rumours flying around about Loggers and it will be sad if it's not open next year but if it needs work doing on it then so be it (it is very old now!) - I personally never bother with Tidal Wave during the summer as it gets me too wet whereas Loggers gets me nice and refreshed wet (though it tastes nasty!). The other water rides bar Tidal Wave are pointless going on if your intention is to get wet - would be good if they did something to Rumba so you actually do get wet rather than the odd bit of splash if your lucky

Cats or Dogs?
Always used to be more of a dog person and I still adore them (my sister has a gorgeous black lab rescue dog who is adorable). When I got my cat I never realised you could have such a strong bond with an animal - always thought cats were not really in tune with people's feelings etc but I was so wrong. My cat helped me through so much - he died last year aged just 4 but I still think about him every day. I am currently fostering 2 cats and hoping to adopt within the next few weeks as they are adorable and so affectionate. Cats are very intelligent - my cat always knew when I was feeling low and knew how to cheer me up. This next bit might sound a bit morbid but when my mum was nearing the end of her battle with cancer, for the last 2 days her cat would only leave her bed to quickly get some food or do his business - in fact he was curled up next to her and my mum had her right hand on him when she passed away and he moved off of the bed about 20 minutes after- less than 3 months after my mum died, we had to put mums cat to sleep - he was a good age of 21 but was never the same after and developed serious health complications. So for me, cats but dogs are awesome too - so is McDonalds to be honest!

Chessington General Discussion
I remember years ago telling my sister that she should go on Peeking Heights as she had technically already been on it when it was Eclipse at TP. She didn't believe me so when we got nearer to riding I went up to the host and asked if it was the Ferris wheel from Thorpe Park and she turned around and said no. I felt like a wally even though I knew it was from Thorpe and had to prove it to my sister with assistance from Google

Samurai
It's so disappointing when you get a naff cycle on Samurai - swear my last go lasted about 30 seconds!

Slammer
Ahhh gutted it is now closed for the rest of the season but glad I got to ride it last week - really hope that it reopens next year (probably needs maintenance or parts = more money spent on it) It took me a looong time before I got the guts to ride Slammer - it is one of those rides that looks extremely intimidating when you watch it but actually great fun to ride. Yeah it can give you a bit of a head rush but I prefer a head rush than feeling like I'm going to blow chunks It is one of my favourite flat rides (not just at TP but in general) because of its uniqueness and the fact that it is the only one of its kind it would be fab if it was kept. If it doesn't reopen next season I will be a wee bit gutted and also as has been mentioned before, rides that are SBNO don't look good - I remember when Rodeo at CWOA was SBNO and I felt sad for it (yeah I'm odd) - although not sure why because I hated Rodeo with a vengeance

Vortex
Glad it's back open - I do like Vortex event though it is probably the ride that makes me feel the most nauseous

Fright Nights 2015
Threatening to punch an actor? Jeez - I think even a threat should be a case for removing a guest tbh. When I was there on Wednesday there were some roaming actors as we were queuing for BWP - a guest was sitting down and from what I could see (and from my own experiences) she was having a panic attack - one of the actors comforted her until paramedics arrived

Love it! I'm really awful at dealing with people like that. Like those damn chuggers - I do my best to avoid them, from pretending to be on the phone, to not making direct eye contact but no, they don't care if you are in the middle of a conversation and just lob themselves in front of you. Worst time was when I got stopped by 3 of the buggers on the same street - by that point I was ready to pull some kung fu moves (if I had any)

Samurai
Shall we take bets? - I'll give it a week tops

Fright Nights 2015
Um, there's a couple of pumpkins by Bush BBQ - this was on Weds though - they may have added other stuff What does everyone think of the ride audio? I miss The Director - especially on Stealth, although funnily enough with the new audio, Stealth is the one I actually don't mind. On Inferno you can barely hear what is being said - the person doing the voice just sounds a bit....angry/borderline pervy, I dunno. Going by todays reports it sounds like things are improving with FN - hopefully they will continue to do so in the coming days

Slammer
I would hate to see Slammer go - took me a long time to go on it (it looks visually a lot worse than the ride experience itself). I can't see it lasting many more years - is it 10 years now that both Rush and Slammer have been at the park? I hope it doesn't leave any time soon - considering the amount of money they have ploughed into it I would imagine they want to keep it for as long as possible but of course there does come a point where investing money would be pointless if it has massive issues. Also the ride is so unique and there are no other sky swats left (ok I know only 2 were ever made but it's the only one remaining) I can see Samurai departing before Slammer - both Samurai and Slammer are my fave flats at Thorpe but in all honesty I think their time is numbered

Pets
Toofpick - sorry to hear about your cat - he looked like a lil cutie! It's so hard when pets die, as said before but hope that you can remember the good memories ChessingtonSam - your cats are adorable My current upate - meeting up with Cats Protection on Tuesday to discuss adopting the 2 cats I have been fostering - I've got so close to them (one of them will sleep as close to me as she can which is a bit tickly with her whiskers on my face!) Both cats are currently snuggled up next to each other on my chair in the living room

Oh dear - that's a facepalm moment! Does make me laugh what some people come out with and I quite enjoy evesdropping on peoples convos whilst at Theme Parks - right now can only think of 2 examples but there has been a lot more - The year Vampire re-opened after getting the Vekoma trains - bunch of gobby kids in front of me in the queue saying "yeah this is so cool - it goes upside down now" - I felt like saying "you are in for a disappointment then" but instead I chuckled to myself And more recently - 2 days after The Smiler incident I was queuing for Samurai and a pair of girls were unfortunately stood behind us (I say unfortunate because they would not shut up) - One of them decided to make up a load of crud and say "oh yeah the reason Saw is closed is because 2 people died on it the other day" - I did literally smack my own face. I know the GP don't have as much knowledge as enthusiasts which is understandable but to spout out complete and utter nonsense I don't understand. Oh I had a staff one aswell - went on Loggers on my own a few months back - got back into the station and as I was getting out I said to the offload host that I stunk of skanky water (I have a lovely way with words) - his response was "oh don't worry it's clean water" - pretty sure that he knows the water IS scabby and comes from the lake but was possibly trying to make me feel better

Bolliger and Mabillard
I've never ridden a stand up coaster but would like to, just to see what it is like - I can cope with a bit of head banging (have done Saw 10 times in a row before) I would love to see a dive coaster where you are in flying position, so basically Oblivion with Air trains.....oh but the trains are on the side of the track a-la Swarm or other wing riders.

Injuries
I'm starting to somewhat question my co-ordination.....yesterday I "almost" fell over after I came out of the slide on IAC maze - that was after I got stuck on the slide because of my damn shoes. Then to top it over I actually did fall over after I came out of the MBV maze - embarrasing, yes....painful; a fair bit. Woke up today with bruises down both my shins, feeling like I've been beaten up and a slightly twisted ankle. I think my shin bruises are from riding loggers twice in a modified boat - never put your knees against those silly middle handlebar things - it's painful

Fright Nights 2015
Was there last night and would be surprised if the big top is open tonight - didn't look near ready st all. Also be careful whilst walking out of MBV - there is an uneven piece of flooring and I fell over like a sack of spuds! I found the mazes disappointing - MBV is more lit up and felt rushed, Saw Aive was ok, Blair Witch has more foliage which is fine but be prepared to get assaulted by tree branches. CITW still my fave but they had waaay too much fog going on you could barely see anything- and the tunnel wasn't working an had no actor in it. As for the audio on the rides - the director was much much better imo. Hopefully it will improve though

Samurai
Vortex still has scaffolding round it

Injuries
I am really forgetful - just assumed this topic was about broken bones! Years ago I fell over on icy pavement and managed to twist my knee - frigging hurt that did - I don't know what was worse, that, or the fact that there were a group of people behind me Going over the handlebars of my bike and scraping the skin off of my hands and knees - it hurt but I was more concerned if anyone had seen Cutting a fairly large split in my finger with those god-awful old tin opener things - they were awful and left tin lids really jagged When I was a kid - rolling onto a portable heater and blistering my hand up quite badly to the point where I had to go to hospital Currently having issues with my left hip which could possibly be arthiritis eeeek - been offered physiotherapy but declined for now Thinks that's it which isn't bad considering I am clumsy as hell Edit: Injuries inflicted from my sister - Massive black eye after she locked me in a room with no handle to get out - I panicked, and was screaming at her to open the door - my face was right by the door and she kicked it open and I went flying.....that hurt a bit Getting thrown against the side of the house and ending up with a vertical scab down my face.....yummy Getting my head smacked against the kitchen cupboards and almost passing out Getting thrown against a piece of furniture and cutting my head open ^^^ these were years ago now, we tend to get on better these days

Chessington In The Media
Eww yuck. Pretty sure years ago there was a news report on a paedophile that got taken to CWOA by his probation officer (or similar). A few years back I got chatting to a bloke on Vampire ride - ended up going round a few times on the ride with him. He was on his own which I just assumed he was an enthusiast - when I told my mum she said "well clearly he's a paedo" erm well I was in my 20s so he was targeting the wrong person. I don't doubt that paedophiles go to parks because they will go to places where kids are but its kinda sad that if a male is on his own it automatically looks dodgy (to some people)

Thorpe Park's Old Days
Ahhh Thunder River.....where you actually got wet!

Injuries
Never broken anything other than possibly a couple of toes that got slammed in a door and went black and hurt like hell. Now I've said that I'm probably going to go break my neck or something!
