  1. I got a couple of photos of the New Fantasy Land concept art form Monday. I'll upload them tonight when I get the opportunity. It's quite a big area and there seems to be a rather large looking yellow coaster tucked away in the corner... Let the speculation start here
  2. The only thing I can possible think of is that the firetruck being used for The Swarm looks a lot more modern. Comparing this:To this:Really shows how different they actually are. I suppose no body would notice how modern a fire engine looks when it is being blown up, in the dark, a few hundred feet away so it suited Blow Shit Up perfectly. It will look out of place however in The Swarm because alongside all the other modern stuff, like the plane or helicopter, that old Fire Engine would look very odd. I'm sure that would be picked up on y the GP so maybe Thorpe have picked up on something here by buying a 'newer' model of Fire Engine?
  3. I'll be there next Monday. If I go to see the Shamu show I'll look out for anything that may be of interest. I highly doubt there will be any thing at all relevant to this case but it's always worth looking. :POhhh and I just found this on Sea Worlds website: http://seaworldparks.com/en/seaworld-orlando/Attractions/Exhibits/TurtleTrek

Thanks Dara. It's lovey walking to school in the snow. It's mostly untouched at 8 in the morning and it's so blissful trudging along in the cool breeze. Although last year my mate chased us through the woods in the snow with his Jigsaw mask. It's the first time I've ever felt pathetic fallacy to be effective...

A night time view from the JackR residencyA view from my mates front garden...One of the local sledging spots, last year some of us built a ramp at the bottom and air time is a bit of an understatement... I thought I would throw this one in to show how unsuited the foliage is to this weather...My journey to school through here tomorrow will be nice and cold.10 points to the first person to guess what I did here
  6. Thorpe just posted a poll on their Facebook fan page. The question was: Hey thrill hunters! We know you love the events at THORPE PARK. Which one of these would you most like...The options included: Wakeboarding competition and show Wrestling event Skate/BMX competition and show MotorX show Foam Party Nice to see the park actually are planning some new events for the upcoming year. What would you like to see the most and how do you think it will all turn out?
  7. How long ago did the Colossus waterfall stop working? I'd imagine it wasn't for at least four or five seasons. If they payed for a group of people to give the feature a proper good clean out then wouldn't it be a good few years until Thorpe are faced with the same issue? I think Mark hit the nail on the head with his post and the park really should go the extra mile to make things look nice. Guests are not going to come back if it's a shoddy, dirty environment, well I defiantly wouldn't anyway! As for the repaint, look at this: Surely nobody can say this coaster actually looks good? If anything the rust will give the impression that the ride is not maintained and is unsafe, the same could go for Colossus. Kumba is also a prime example. Look at the top comment on this video! Just to show the difference there's also a video of Kumba's repaint: The paint job will not only make the ride look more aesthetically pleasing, but safer and give the park a better reputation. There's no reason why it shouldn't be done. If Thorpe can afford a new multi-million pound rollercoaster, then why can't they afford a repaint for one of their most iconic attractions?
  8. The news is a few days old, but nobody has bought it up so... LEVIATHAN TRAINS:Looking pretty good from what I can see, should be interesting to see if the Leviathan face is on the front of the zero cars. Also, just another sexy picture to accompany the one Liam posted above:
  9. It makes a lot of sense if you think about it. I made a diagram to help prove my point:As you have probably worked out, the yellow line is my interpretation of where the pipe linking the two up will be placed. The plane wing is self explanatory. The Tidal Wave ball thingy is pretty much in line with the location of the wing. If there was to be a fire effect on the engine of the plane, then it would make sense to refurbish the effects of the ball on Tidal Wave whilst Thorpe are at it. I'd imagine not many of the guests would have seen the fire effect so it would be something new for most of the public. It's killing two birds with one stone if Thorpe are giving us two sexy fire effects in one year. (If Thorpe actually doing it that is)
  10. Yeah, it was in the 'The Swarm in the media' topic. The whole thing was a Publicity Stunt so there's no need to worry about any remodeling. Your new though and you wasn't to know that this has already been discussed in another topic, you'll get used to the forums and how it works in time.
  11. From the Developer's Diary I wonder what interessting questions will be asked about The Swarm this time round then?
  12. Of course people with some common sense are going to see through this, test dummies losing limbs couldn't possibly happen in the first place and it's inevitable that people are going to see through Thorpe's marketing scheme. As for the people that do actually believe it, it will make them scared and that's the job of the PR. This is going to generate a lot of conversation regardless of whether or not people believe it and that will either have the effect that it's supposed to and make people scared, or if they can see through it they will be talking about it. Even though this PR is a load of crap and it makes no sense, both of the Newspapers that reported on this have mentioned how 'safety actions' are being taken. To be honest, this is actually a win-win situation for Thorpe. For the people who actually believed this, they will be scared but will most likely also pay attention to the fact that things are being done to 'make the ride safer'. As for the people who can see straight through this crap, like the girl Michael knows and all of us on here, we need not worry because we all know this wasn't true anyway. Thorpe have successfully managed to make people scared, generate conversation amongst the public and still make their ride look safe. Yeah, it is a load of crap but it's definitely working better than the Monks Walk thing...
  13. All taken from the Dev's Diary Facebook page. Yes, people are actually believing it... This kind of justifies the point I made in the 'Speculation and Theories' topic. As far fetched as this seems, it's working on the people!
  14. WOW. Beats The Swarm's station by a mile! I love how the stairs zigzag in and out of the building to the side. It reminds me some what of Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls too. I'm starting to like this ride more and more as it comes closer to opening.
  15. Was skimming through The Swarm: Dev's Diary and somebody posted a blog with some fantastic pictures of Raptor:The rest are here:https://plus.google....4897?banner=pwa
  16. Sorry, I had no idea! I only presumed it was the actual eagle because everyone on CF said so. Well that doesn't look like a 40ft wingspan anyway so I'm quite glad that is not the actual eagle!
  17. Credit to a Coaster Force member for posting this pic in the Wild Eagle topic there. Does the wingspan look 40ft to you? I know the perspective may be deceiving but all the silly enthusiasts over on Coaster Force have been comparing it to Robosaurus and a bunny with a pancake on its head...
  18. After reading a post from a member of Coaster Force, I have decided to reconsider how well this marketing strategy will work. The ride is supposed to be scary, that's why it is a 'thrill ride'. One of the main reasons you feel scared on a roller coaster is because you don't feel safe. If some stupid idiot who actually believed this PR went on The Swarm thinking they were unsafe, then darting between all the near misses is going to be pretty damn scary if they remember the news article in The Mirror they read a couple of months prior. Lets face it, as good as this ride looks, it doesn't really have too much to offer. It is the UK's first Winged Coaster and the tallest in Europe, it also has the funky drop but The Swarm has an average speed, length and number of inversions just like most other coasters in the UK. One of the best things about this ride is the incredible themeing and several near misses. If people read or hear about this PR and feel unsafe on the ride then they will most likely be very scared, and as the main purpose of this ride is to scare people, then Thorpe are doing the right thing marketing The Swarm in such a unique way. To be honest, I am going to take back everything I said in my previous post because I think Thorpe have still done the right thing here and The Swarm still has the great reputation is has built up over the past year.Having said that, it's not THAT hard to realize that the front two dummies are a different shape to the others, and the front two are the only ones to actually have limbs anyway. I'm not sure how many people will actually believe this, but it will have a great impact on those who do.
  19. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2012/01/24/thorpe-park-rollercoaster-crash-test-dummies-lose-limbs-during-test-run-115875-23715373/What a load of crap! All this PR has done is given Thorpe and The Swarm a bad name! Sure it will get people talking, but for the wrong reasons. We all saw the pictures of them making sure the clearence was okay, so effectively all Thorpe have done is make themselves look unsafe and pull of a test dummies limb...

Loving this song, the cat is a little tank for getting drunk and pulling... Like most of his other songs, I prefer the 'live session' a lot more though.
