Visible work in the launch tube is also happening! This support without anything attached has also been in place for a very long time. I can't remember if it goes into the queue building but if so I guess that explains why and I'd assume they've been working on that for a while, especially as rumours point to that getting quite a big upgrade. Hopefully the body scanners will be incorporated better and that horrid outside cattlepen will be changed to some degree. Also.

That was the one good thing with IAC. It was regularly refreshed over the season, you could say to find the perfect formula or to keep it different for regular guests. So it's nice to see them continuing this and not giving up on it!

Horror nights purely because I've heard so many mixed things of that.

I'd say they've put in an application just because they cba to move it. But, the fact the plans show a queue and separate staff area presumably for actors then it makes it seem like it will actually be used at least at some points in the season other than FN.

Are you going to do the rest of the reports?

Been hearing this to. Maybe they're waiting to see the feedback Galactica gets and then they'll implement it. Could potentially have it open by tail end of this year that way too. Gives them a chance to work on that side of the ruins too whilst the area isn't in use with driving school closed as well

Maybe they spent too much money on a new bridge for their 120th season. Progress from fountains at least. Stuff comes up in maintenance that may take longer than planned, look at Vampire last year. Totally get that, it's like having an MoT, if there's lots wrong it could take and cost more than planned. That's fine, they shouldn't have been trying to ride a high horse thinking they could open everything up today and just said that some things would be closed. What, wristbands are £15 atm, still a bargain.

I wouldn't say this is Merlin having it in for Paultons if the Raptor thing is true. Merlin will have decided upon the licensing rights of the Raptor name on merch etc for their attraction back when it opened at Gardaland in 2011. No way can that be seen as Merlin having it in for Paultons if its been in place for 5+ years. There must be a reason behind the change though, because Raptor is easy, Velociraptor not so much. https://oami.europa.eu/eSearch/#details/trademarks/013767801 Here it is actually, but it was opposed. Was applied for beginning of last year. So yeah, not sure on this one. Just seems odd to change the name as it was on the trains etc.
-
Apparently, the Raptor thing is because Merlin own the rights to that name on an attraction across the whole of Europe so they had to change it

Starting to go up pronto. Work on these all seem to be done now so they're just sitting around curing. Guessing by the time they've done the back section these will have had enough settling time Disaster's building has also come down very fast. Rumours are that Beetlejuice got an extra month or so at the park because Creative were playing around with plans after Supercharged in Hollywood didn't get great reviews. Hopefully this is something more than that. Especially with films confirmed up until 2021, would be nice to have a great attraction for the franchise. Twister building is also being seriously gutted. Apparently when complete it will have the Comcast building facade (which is now the Rockefeller Center) which is in New York so it'll fit.

Alton Towers & Waterpark TPM Knockout Meet 25th - 26th June 2016
Mitchada04 replied to AJ 's topic in TPM 2016 Meets
First weekend is definitely my preference even if it means going to Paris on the Monday following weekend I can probably do, will just have to do some serious haggling at work. -
That's going to be the Monday through Wednesday probably if Towers ever announce when Smiler is opening. Although if that's open we won't get a chance to do much wandering...

That's where the hypocrisy comes in. Of course you can still visit Towers. But if the 6 ride closure happens which you are clearly set against and then still go after saying you won't you would be being a hypocrite. Many times before you've said you wouldn't visit Thorpe as much as it's not worth it with the one train ops etc then you visit and come back complaining about one train ops. If it really bothers you that much then stop visiting, and if it doesn't bother you enough to actually stop you going then stop giving unconstructive feedback about the parks.

I guess I can come... maybe.

It's what they keep replying to people on Facebook with. Was meant to be the whole weekend at one point but from what they've been saying it'll just be the Sunday. Tickets go live middle of February, probably the 15th exactly as that's a Monday and the day after the sale ends. Eventbtite again to.

Chessingtons is on 12th and 13th March. Thorpe only 13th.

Stealth is meant to be unimposing. So it has a very open support structure and white track to blend in better with the sky. It was done to make getting planning permission for it easier, and clearly it worked. Whatever it is, if the train doesn't have a roof it should be called "....... Spyder" to show it is roofless It's meant to be in the region of 300ft?
-
Is Swarm going to be all forwards again this year? Thorpe tweeted a picture of two of the chassis' from a train being outside and are replying to tweets with "Swarm is moving forwards in 2016" or similar replies.

I don't think that photo is from monks walk though. It's too close to the building. I think it's like next to Bush BBQ
