  1. Nah storm surge is here to stay for quite a few more years. Once the park gets more bigger better rides, then hopefully then we'll finally see the back of it. Problem with Storm surge is that it's in the wrong location and park and would probably be a more favoured addition somewhere like Pleasurewood hills or just back in Legoland Florida.
  2. TBH I don't really expect thorpe to receive any new physical ride or attraction next year with the major dark ride opening next year, however will have to see considering Angry Birds wasn't announced until the start of this year which if that's the case it will obviously be another 'mid season' opening. Something Merlin seem to be doing a bit too much of recently.
  3. Yeah, sure I'll join too
  4. Exposed metal shed exterior, likely cattle pen queue plus potential IP (rather than an original idea or theme), not the best start so far, but let's hope they can surprise all of us. Oh wait, this is Merlin.
  5. Hopefully the ride's queue will be done properly as Merlin aren't very good at doing interesting immersive queue lines. Look at Swarm, Saw, Smiler, Etc. Interesting rides (though some may argue not) however there queue line settings aren't the best and don't really build up to the ride experiences as great as they could do much more but turn in to mere cattle pens near the station area, especially with Smilers flood problem and Swarms hidden cattlepen. Many Tussaud built rides have much better immersive interesting queue experiences which either involve major theming, effects or just by simply building up the ride by seeing it from different views e.g Nemesis, Oblivion, Duel, Ramesis, Colossus and even Inferno. Would be nice to see an immersive queue for this ride, but it's Merlin. Scorpion express is one of the few Merlin queue layouts done right.
  6. It's definitely a bottomless pit. If it was cleaner, it would make a very good effect. Reminds me strongly of the now removed Magic Theatre attraction in Legoland which used to have one just like this until it was removed for the shoddy Xbox attraction that appeared in 2008.
  7. That orange track looks beutiful. 2015 is another B&M year
  8. Features an appropriate dedication to the recently deceased Rangers Caroulsel in his signature.
  9. Welcome, to the banned season
  10. Wow! This ride looks so beautiful already.
  11. Banned for visiting better themeparks in Europe than me

    This Or That

Adventure island, by a fighter nail, Legoland or Paultons park?

    This Or That

Imperial leather Kettle chips or Pringles?
  14. This sounds really exciting, loving the look of that Startrek coaster. I bet this place will wipe the floor with all our other parks, even Alton Towers. Apart from Thorpe's dark ride and Dreamland, there isn't much to be excited really in the uk themepark industry, not to mention Chessie & Legoland are clogged for development and Lightwater, Flantasy & Pleasure island are really struggling currently.
  15. I do think the park could do with some more relaxing rides, considering without caroulsel now (alongside CCR, Fungle and others) the only chill rides left now are Loggers, Rumba, Depth charge and Angrybirds 4D and that's pushing it slightly. Towers has CBeebies land, cloud cuckoo, sky ride, flume and Congo plus duel, whilst Chessie has Bubbleworks, skyway, the zoo, Hocus Pocus and tombs (if you like). Don't get me started at Legoland.

    This Or That

Thorpe Park Rangers by a countrymile Mr Rabbit's Tropical Travels or Thunder River?
  17. Not all good coasters need to be thrill. Big Thunder, Arhur the ride & Lisebergen say hello.
  18. All of my vlogs I've done this year cite and reference Disneyland Paris (you'd almost think I'd be dying to go) ;)
  19. This is Halloween, from Nightmare Before Christmas. It played it every fright nights, at least for the last few years.
  20. I'm absolutely certain the Maps only get a major facelift every 2/3 years (like the iPhone). Whilst there are subtle changes each year (aside from any possible new attractions they have e.g Blackpool) the design doesn't change drastically each year, from what I remember.
  21. I've always had this strange (but maybe pointless) idea that legoland gives their pirate ship to Thorpe which is more suited to thrills and Legoland take Thorpes banana ride considering it's smaller and less scary. Not going to happen of course.
  22. So far I have no idea what's happening for 2015 apart from the new pizza pasta place replacing Pizza Hut (with an extrusion), construction of the 2016 dark ride and the Caroulsel's demise. I get the impression we don't actually see a new ride next year considering we got Angrybirds last year and what's lined up in 2016 and more so a refurbishment such as Rumba, although there is Fungle's site now. Really want to see loggers overhauled with a new tunnel, Colossus repainted and generally lots of little things replaced snd repaired throughout the park. But are these things going to happen? Probably not because Merlin aren't very good at upkeep at the best of times. Edit- Bah typos
  23. Whilst the ride sadly wasn't popular anymore, had aged, worn and looked out of place in its latter years, I will miss the ranger caroulsel strongly. It was not just another last remaining treasure of the RMC days but also a collage of the patk's path in recent times seeing how any old icons app on the ride itself. Canada creek, Neptune's, teacups and the banana ride are all that remain of those days of old and it's likely they font have too long left either. I just hope all the classic objects such as the thunder River spinner are kept by the park for future generations to learn of its past.
  24. I'll most certainly be going to this one to share the creaky Christmas spirit
