Went the same day last year and all rides were walk on from 6, and mazes were around half an hour. It was raining all night though so will probably be slightly busier this year
Don't know if this was aimed at me, or a joke or whatever. The fact Vortex is closed hasn't put me off visiting at all, I just thought that it was worth mentioning that it won't be available for at the least the first few nights of Fright Nights.
That new box now has a padlock over it, so I doubt it'll constantly be in use.
My bet is that when it breaks down, the ride will need to be reset from that box to confirm the track has been looked at? Can't think of what else it could be.
Haven't seen Vortex with this amount of scaffolding before, looks like we won't be riding it in the dark this weekend

I did Altons mazes in 2012 and only really enjoyed COF, thought the mazes were no where near as intense as Thorpes are. Odd but there must be a reason for it.
What season did the water tower actually stop working? And does anyone know why, was it just that it broke or it just stopped when the fire effect stopped?
The website has also been updated, and if you complete 7 challenges you will be entered into a competition to win the following prizes...
EDIT: Edwin beat me to it
