It was really noticeable how much faster Slammer is raising and coming back down than in recent years!
Operations were also really good, and at one point they were even loading there air gates while the ride was in operation which I haven't seen them do in years.
However I did notice staff no longer have a key to unlock single restraints, so if someones restraint is too tight they have to unlock every restraint both sides and start over which was annoying.
Loved the improvements on X today, music in the queue is a lot louder and I love the new playlist, the new announcements are pretty good as well.
However on the ride it sounded really bad, It will really muffled and just sounded awful.
Will look gorgeous for fright nights.
A lot of staff I spoke to today have said they're planning to have it open by the end of May/ 2 weeks. Obviously this isn't confirmed but hopefully it shouldn't be too long
Haven't seen Samurai test today but the signs have been put back up since this morning except the queue time board, and ride staff are saying it may open today but they can't guarantee it
It defiantly did. I even remember it played in the queue in 2013. In 2013 I remember:
Main theme played in the queue and area.
New version of the 07 loading music played in the station.
Dispatch theme which played every time a train left the station.
Ever since 2013 them weird jungle noises have played in the queue, and now even worse the IAC theme. I haven't heard that loading music since 2013 either and the dispatch theme has always seemed so quiet now
Sounded so much better in 2013 IMO.
They used to do that a lot a few years ago, and stop the countdown and leave you up there for ages if there was a short queue. Don't know if they've been told specifically they're not aloud to anymore or just because it's different staff but I didn't see them do it last season.
In my experience that fast track queue is used every time I'm there, except if the queue is really short/walk on its not used as there is no point obviously.
I don't see how it would be cheaper? Swarm would still require the same amount of staff in the station.
Assume it would just be down to lack of demand? Or could of been causing problems/easier maintenance wise.
They were trailing this at Wet'n'Wild back in October when I was there, it's a good system. You wear an electric watch which displays how long you have until your next ride. To select a ride you just go up to one of the points around the park, scan you watch and choose one on a touchscreen display. Should be perfect by the time volcano bay opens
18th should be very quiet yes. You can have a look at the queue times for good Friday last year here, compared to Friday the 13th of March here for an idea.
Just 3 now I believe.
It doesn't stop on the block brakes like it used to on now way out when it ran 5 trains. It stacks on 3 trains now so there would be no point running more anyway
