    Fright Nights 2015

    Ah yeah I remember the group walking around in the red hoods. When I saw them they didn't do anything though, they were simply walking around? In 2013 I saw a few actors in the MBV queue and 1 or 2 in the Cabin queue, which was great. Last year however I saw none in the queues. I guess it depends on what night you go, and I was unlucky.

  3. For the whole of Fright Nights!? I was planning on going on Sunday the 11th to avoid it Oh well it will be nice trying it out, will be interesting if they decide to use it on the mazes or just keep it on the top 5 coasters.

  6. Probably, seems to be the only compensation they give out I think they should open the park at 9:30 like they used to but have the opening time at 10, in my opinion they don't seem to get enough rides open at 9:30 to advertise that as the opening time.
  7. Haha yeah there wasn't when I went either, and not a single effect working on the Swarm. Staff are normally great but yeah all seemed a bit rude and operations weren't great. The actor we had in I'm a celebrity ruined it as well. Yeah I understand that they can't help it, but they shouldn't advertise a 9:30 opening time when they aren't opening most rides until 11. I keep seeing people complaining on Twitter people saying there leaving early due to the amount of rides open.

I felt the same after my last visit No early ride time and when the park did open there was about 2 rides open, the amount of rides which didn't open until 11 was ridiculous (Including Stealth, Colossus and Saw), lots of rides had a lot of downtime, Slammer Samurai closed all day, effects and music not working, some queue time boards not working and most were inaccurate, staff unfriendly etc...
  9. Shame as Vortex has been running really well whenever I've been on it this season! Thorpe's twitter has said the only planned closure tomorrow is Samurai, so hopefully all others will open again!

    It's pretty much completely dismantled!? I have never seen it like that, interesting. I'd rather it just went, but I have a feeling Thorpe are going to keep it. I don't think the reason it's open late is due to balancing issues, as I've seen it with 2 people on before. At Fright Nights later on it's dead and there is no balancing issues.
  12. Yeah when I went on it last week all the effects were on, first time I've seen effects work on it since it's open, makes it a little better. Boats had ridiculous amount of water in them though and my feat got soaked.

    After being closed for over a month now, Samurai is finally getting some work done to it, well a lot of work done to it! All the pods have been taken off. (Credit to themeparkguide for the photos)
  16. I doubt Colossus' highest throughput is over 1200...
  17. In previous years though they have only had 2 trains available as they did winter maintenance throughout the year on the other, so they would only have to strip down 1 train during winter. This year however with the February opening I know they were planning on having all 3 trains available this year so either 2 trains are currently broken, or they didn't stick to that plan and one of the trains are being stripped down.

    I also noticed when I went last year there was no actors in the queue lines. In 2013 there were a few actors in both Cabin in the woods queue and my bloody valentines queue which were great. I didn't know there were roaming actors last year? I only saw roaming actors when Cabin in the woods was closed for a few hours, so all the actors from there were out and about. I'd love to see more roaming actors and actors in the queue lines
  20. If you watch this video between 40 seconds and 65 seconds, you can see 3 water effects which I've never seen. It's a shame, such simple little water effects could actually make the ride so much more interesting. There was also this effect which I only ever saw once. I can understand why this was removed, I got more wet than I would on Tidal Wave. I remember seeing this from Inferno and wondering what it was
  21. Has anyone seen the sprinklers on at the end of the ride this season? Or has it lost the only part of the ride which gets you wet?

    I saw that as well, however I saw Flying fish as well! Samurai, Vortex and Rush I can see working very well. Quantum and Flying Fish I find very strange additions as they aren't rides people tend to ride on there own, as they are less thrilling. Also, they rarely get a queue anyway. Detonator is a good idea as there tends to be empty seats quite a lot, but unless theres 2 hosts I can see it slowing down operations as it isn't batched while the ride is in operation. It'll be interesting to see how it works on Detty anyway.
