I have never been on slammer myself but I am desperate, I will hopefully get a ride on it when I visit this month! It has always been broken whenever I visit!

'A new age of live action horror' we have do we? Hopefully this means new mazes etc. And hopefully we can get rid of saw alive and a new maze there

Generally queues can reach up to an hour on a sunday(with swarm,stealth,saw, nemmy inferno and Colossus being 45-60 mins)You should be fine however- you will be able to do all the rides by 6pm as the queues die down in the last hour or so! Just a note, don't go to swarm last minute if you want to ride backwards as the backwards queue closes early! Why not join the TPM meet on that day? Hope this helps, James

Looks a bit bland to me, it used to have an X on top and the logo 'x no way out' underneath, but now it just has X followed by X which makes the front display area for the rides name look really bare...If I were them I would get rid of storm surge and have X on the front followed by 'the ride which takes no prisioners' of whatever their new slogan is!

Busy because of the 10,000 people limit which was originally 5000...

Do you guys think X will be ready for 17th April? I really wanna ride it! I think X will be changed quite a lot now we have heard this update, for all we know, they might even be puttin a different theme inside! Thorpe need to update their facebook page though because it is still called X no way out

As much as I would love to agree with you that they have let Colossus to rot, I feel the fact that Colossus isn't having a reprint adds to the themeing! Colossus is meant to be in the lost city, so why not give it the lost and neglected themeing? It is meant to be an acient ride so I think they are actually trying to improve it by not repainting...As for loggers, I am so disappointed, the tunnel has gone and it looks AWFUL! I don't see how they can remove half the tunnel and then just have the other half sitting there, surely it makes loggers look stupid?

Yes, I actually saw a picture of X, I saw the front of the pyramid saying 'X' but the signs said 'X no way out.' Do you think it will be open for Saturday 16th??

Hey guys, I have now been notified that merlin staff can attend the preview day aswell with their friends which is a shame because I have missed the day now! Just for future reference: Will there be a 2014 friends and family day? How many friends/family can the staff take? How to get tickets for the day and do you have to pay? If there is one next year I may get a good chance to ride the 2014 ride with a short queue

I wish I had friends and family which worked at thorpe...How does the brave it backwards entrance actually work? It seems completely sperate to the rest of the main and fastrack queues so how do they get it to work? It doesn't make sense to me... Thorpe park clearly stated in the competition that the winning slogan may not be put on the board, it's a shame really because all they are doing is advertising things now...

I sware thorpe park wasn't open today... Was it friends and family day today?

A B&M hyper would be cool actually.Just thinking about this SW8 will be at the same time as thorpe and chessies major investments. This means the parks will be competing against each other for the best coaster. My guess is all three parks will produce something amazing in 2016...

Not necessarily, although I have run out of ideas that alton can have(coaster wise) as they seem to have used almost every option possible. I feel that merlin are now approaching the stages where they have run out of ideas on what to do. This is not the case in the world of flat rides but rollercoasters are becoming the issue, even though this is not really a problem at chessie and thorpe, I have a feeling a problem is arising at alton towers. They already have: A launched coaster(rules out any type of launching coaster) A flyer(rules out another flyer) An inverted coaster(rules out another inverted/suspended coaster) A family coaster with a twist(rules out anything like thirteen) A dive coaster(rules out any dive coasters etc.) A spinning coaster(rules out spinning coaster) A mine train(rules out the same type of ride) And a eurofighter-SW7(rules out eurofighter type rides) Even though there are a lot more possibilities out there in the world for coasters, I feel that alton have taken the more central ones which means that there are not a lot of possibilities left. Of course they can do well for a long time but alton are soon going to be struggling to choose what coaster they want. So I think a woodie is one of the only possible options, I think in future years they should expand the park(if possible) and make a new land with a woodie in it. It could be either added to that new land or they could put it in mutiny bay behind the sea life centre.

Should be fairly empty probably, after all it is a Thursday and most people are at work/school! My guess is queues won't reach over 20 mins with swarm being 10/20 mins throughout the day! That's what queues were like when I visited on a school day once, everything was 0 mins with swarm at 10 mins!

Hi, As far as I can remember the thorpe bus costs £3.50 return- I am not sure if they take people back to the station before 3:30pm however the public bus can take you back to the station aswell(I think you can get the 51 but I'm not sure) I have never timed the journey myself but according to the timetable the bus journey takes 15 minutes! Hope this helps- don't rely on me though because I am not exactly sure!

Such a shame I can't go Anyway, hope everyone has a great time! I wouldn't be too keen on wearing non-branded clothing myself though P.S I would have loved to ride the swarm without a queue

This is my point though- if thorpe don't want to keep their rides why don't they remove them altogether? Whati don't understand is why they literally leave the rides there to rot over the seasons... And yes, I do know thorpe gets done up but it always seems a bit scruffy if you know what I mean, most of the coasters need repaints etc... My guess is they will put massive barriers up by saw alive saying "returning for fright nights" or something which will be advertising for this years fright nights event. To be honest, I can't see them doing anything else with it this year! In 2014/2015 I hope it is replaced and a good ride/attraction will be added to fit the theme of what is currently saw the ride.

Pluk is exactly right, the saw alive building needs to have something in it and it needs to be opened, on the map! They cannot leave it there until fright nights- it just makes the area look worse with random queue line fencing. I really wonder what thorpe are up to, they leave empty attractions around the park for people just to look at, if thorpe had any sense they would make use of the space or replace it with some scenery or a shop! I like thorpe but they seem to be going in the opposite direction... I hope in future years they reopen CCR, place something in the funnel safari area, put a show in the pirates 4D and have a new attraction where saw alive is- at the moment thorpe just want to leave them to rot! I wouldn't actually mind a year, maybe next, where the park just gets done up and maybe these attractions are replaced etc. because at the moment thorpe seems to be quite a shoddy place...

Just wondering, this may be a really stupid question but: Why are there 2 burger kings at thorpe, shouldn't there be a different food outlet instead?

I think the trains are switched around otherwise they would probably leave it as 'no way out' would be interesting to see what they have done to it, maybe it is not in the dark any more? As for the map, there seems to be lots more people partying around the arena and the dome- I hope this means we will have more events going on throughout the year(and days) hopefully. Maybe some sort of show there? I hope they do something with saw alive this year, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a picnic area etc. however if the queue line is still there I will be extremely disappointed- it would just go to show how thorpe don't really bother about their park. I might be proved wrong on this though... I wouldn't be surprised to find a fastrack unit where saw alive was!!
