The majority of people visiting the zoo days this half term are annual pass holders so if an annual pass week was introduced my guess is every day of it would be absolutely packed. As the weather is getting worse, my guess is that chessington will get less and less busy during this week. It is meant to be cloudy and cold tomorrow and I am visiting so my guess is it won't reach full capacity. Well to be honest, I think chessington could open up more of the park, they are losing valuable customers who would happily pay to get in etc. I am really not sure why chessington can't open up tomb blaster, peaking heights and the runaway train this half term! I am sure if they just opened up a bit more of the park they would at least be able to fit more guests into it!P.S I will get some snaps of zufari etc!

It is rumoured to be open but only time will tell...
-
Shame it only opens n 20th march now... Was hoping to be able to ride it for annual pass day! Guess not, I will have to make another trip during the year!
-
Where does it say that? I can't see that on the website Also apparently safari skyway is up and running too I think we could be seeing sea storm getting its gates flung open through this half term period!
-
Since when was black buccaneer opening? It doesn't say on the website- if it is open I am definately hitting the park and spending a day on the awesome ship!On the website it doesn't mention anything about buccaneer are you sure it's open?

Oh a mondial supernova- just like the one at winter wonderland in 2010 I have never been on one myself but look interesting however I would rather have one like wipeout at dreamworld which goes all the way over upside down, the only reason is that it would be more intense. However, if thorpe are appealing to families again, I think it would be the ideal ride for them.

What is a bone shaker??

http://www.thorpepark.com/mashup/ We have the silent disco event on a mystery ride again this year. The event is named 'mash up' and it includes the animal bike tour stunt show and some other ministry of sound events will be going across the park! This will include music being played by stealth by ministry of sound DJ's! The event will be taking place from 5th-8th April and you don't have to pre-book a special ticket. I will definately be going! As for the thorpe park preview day, I don't think he will be able to enter as it seems to be merlin annual pass strictly pre-book only.

The endless announcements start to annoy me. The only sort of announcement I think that we would need is if the ride has broken down. Instead every time the train dispatches from the station we get this: "Sit back and hold on tight, the vampire taking flight mwahahahha" and the operators laugh can be so stupid sometimes that it totally kills the atmosphere. As far as I'm aware, rides like saw and nemesis inferno at thorpe park don't have all these announcements so why does vampire?

No because ripsaw is run on rubbish cycles and would be run on even worse ones at thorpe! Just compare ripsaws cycles(rubbish) to ones on rameses revenge(good)! Rameses revenge: Ripsaw: At least on rameses you always get a soaking aswell and most times you'll get a double soaking! Rameses always goes around twice due to short queues and you always get the spin cycle. But with ripsaw it is popular so you barely ever get a good, long cycle! That's why I'm glad we have rameses at chessington because it isn't very popular there and peaks at 20/30 min queues!

Do you think TPM will introduce something like this again, maybe for nemesis infernos birthday or something? I would have loved to ride Colossus during this 30 minutes but unfortunately was not a member of the forums then! Do you think you will be organising something like this in the new future at thorpe?
-
Haha, knowing them .... Looking forward to hopefully seeing some of u guys there! That's if I can make it
-
Even though there will probably be no point, if the group are going on a ride which has 10/20 minuteswait and you want to go off on a big ride instead because you don't like it you may want to buy fastrack so you can get on something like stealth instead of vortex lets say! I don't think it will be necessary but just suggesting I hope I can make it down there, still unconfirmed though, does age matter at the meet? P.S if I do come I might be bringing a friend along- I will confirm with you soon whats happening Peaj

I'm sorry but topspins are awesome and everyone is entitled to their own opinion

MOD EDIT - Thread created to end further derailing of the X topic. I would like some decent flat rides/shows in the non-coaster years. As much as changing the swarm backwards is good, I would rather something better be put in instead. I mean they need to re-paint Colossus and refurb X(which they are already doing) and things like that etc! In the years to come, I would like to see a new show in the Pirates 4D building, some new flat rides and some updating and general maintenance of the current rides and that's all on top of adding resturants etc. A few new flat rides would be nice for me: A topspin A mondial airwolf A mondial shake/huss booster This year I really hope X has better themeing, even if they keep the same themeing I actually hope they update it and add more themeing too it! Also I would like to see the return of the old, classic soundtrack!

It was full when I went for a zoo day and nearly everyone there did have a MAP and a bottle round their neck- but that does not mean it will be packed, merlin are limiting the amount of pre-book tickets to this event so it should be fairly quiet. However, it could be a disaster again but this is unlikely because I think this year they have everything under control, unlike 2011 AP day!I hope all the rides are working, but they should be because thorpe should be prepared this time unlike in 2011- if the disaster happens again, I will not be visiting thorpe's AP days anymore...

Saw actually looks nice unlike that horrible thing^^^^ Everyone has their own opinion but I think you are totally wrong in every way possible rideaddict Go Colossus you will be the worlds most inversions till the smiler! Also fluch von Novgorod has the steepest drop worldwide not Takeshiba pluk!!
-
Yes, I have to agree on that aswell, the fact that his mouth is not moving at the same time is an utter disappointment!
-
Firstly, saw is a good rollercoaster. Secondly, swarm is pathetic and is slow and tackles its "5" inversions slowly. Which is actually 4 inversions but the park just wanted to make it sound better. I think the swarm is one of the worst rides in the park, but everyone has their own opinion.... Actually, my opinion could change when I ride it backwards, the back row was OK last time I rode it, so it has the potential to become the best. But the only thing I like about the swarm is the THEMEING and the swarms is better than saws but saw is a better rollercoaster. And that's that
-
I can honestly say that saw has the potential to be much much better, in terms of the themeing etc. however, the ride itself just is one of my favourites ever! I don't know why but it is and the only ride in thorpe park which beats it is stealth. If the themeing was better, it would probably be my favourite in the park: I love saw and I love the layout, the axes, the spikes, the body on the floor which squirts water at you. I could probably go on for ever with a list of things I love about it. I have to admit, the queue line isn't as good as it should be, the barbed wire fences are amazing but the wooden ones just completely ruin the experience. And the voice overs add to the atmosphere but they get extremely annoying after a while when you hear "don't touch the fences, they may be a trap" over and over again. But saw is just an amazing ride overall in my opinion, and if I had the choice between saw and the swarm, it would be saw any day, because saw feels much faster and is generally a better ride(swarm feels slow etc.) When people say saw is a bad ride and say "how can you say it's great" I completely disagree and think the opposite...
-
Booking a ticket right now then!I would love to go anyway because you get photoed for the website and stuff
-
Does anyone know if its ok if I book a ticket and end up not going?- I may be busy on that day but am not sure yet and I want to book the ticket just incase! I mean the tickets free so could it do any harm?
-
I think saw is unique and most importantly a great coaster- if we were back in 2009 we would be saying that it was the best themed ride in the park. I now think it is second bestly themed after the swarm but is my second favourite ride in the park(stealth 1st!) I think the THEMEING is superb to be honest but that is just my opinion, I think saw is a great attraction and no one is going to stop me saying that
-
Ahh sorry I was looking at it the wrong way thinking that the forwards ones were backwards and vice versa!
