  1. I would say given the price increase for Annual Pass users, the Horror Pass is good value if you're visiting 2 or 3 times.

However the actual price rise itself is too much in my opinion. Sorry but considering you've already paid £100+ for the MAP, one visit to Fright Nights is not worth 10% on top of what you've already paid for an entire year.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy visiting Merlin parks, but they're just pushing prices up until they know people can't afford it any more, whereas I think pricing should be based on the experience you're getting on the visit.

  2. You obviously haven't seen the likes of this then... ;)

Actually I've been on Insane and I loved it. So I know what a ZacSpin is. It was a bit rough on the man area though.

The restraints on the S&S prototype looked a lot tighter and more bulky than the horrid Intamin ones, so I have high hopes for this coaster.

It also spins a LOT faster on the bumps (the actual prototype, not in the video I posted)

  3. Personally I prefer zumanjaro, its got the force of detonator but lasts so much longer.

Well it hasn't really got the force, Detonator has that extra push.

I find taller drop towers are fun, but not as intense. I guess it's because the longer you're falling, the slower you accelerate due to wind resistance etc.

  4. I'd imagine it varies. Being a student, I've stayed away from theme park jobs because of the odd hours you sometimes get.

Remember if they had the choice between you, (a student with possibly difficult hours, and somebody outside of education), they might well go for the latter, and still pay 6 or 7 pounds an hour like they would for you.

As for when you might be able to leave, 5 is a tad hopeful. Keep in mind that if a queue for an attraction is say, 30 minutes at the end of the day, you'll be there for that 30 minutes, then you'll close up, and then be debriefed before you leave.

Go for it though! You might love it! :)

  5. The Swarm shadows are good, although I still don't think Thorpe would pride themselves on adding all the details.

Edit - I know I sound grumpy, but I do love Thorpe Park. Even if it isn't the best park ever, or in the UK (in my opinion).

But I think if they really want to keep customers flooding in, and get better feedback, they need to improve on the details.

Hopefully someone there will visit Phantasialand and get inspired. They prove you don't need to make cheaper investments more often to keep customers visiting again. However I know Merlin don't do it that way, which is fine, but if I were Thorpe Park I'd be trying to improve customer satisfaction even more.

And they really need to now that they're aiming themselves at families.

  6. Don't know whether its been mentioned. But they will be doing Behind the scenes tours of the Horror Mazes this year! Exciting!

I think it would be interesting, but I go to Fright Nights to have fun and have a scare, not to trek around a museum (which will probably be in a shipping container)...

The Asylum replacement will hopefully be fab. The building has a great layout for a decent attraction.

  7. ^ And? Maybe I didn't bother watching the trailer because I've heard bad things about the film? You know what I meant.

They played it near the Asylum's queue last year and it killed the mood. Other people in the queue seemed to agree.

  8. Sometimes film scores suck though.

I would imagine that in some cases, a custom made track would build atmosphere much more. I know everyone disagrees with me, but I think that the 'Perfect Day' song that played everywhere last year ruined the atmosphere. If you haven't seen the film, it just feels so out of place.

Music on previous Fright Nights has been so much better in my opinion.
