  1. I must say that the weather is currently rather dreadful but every staff member I've interacted with so far has been so kind and pleasant, and others have said similar!
  2. Thanks for reminding me why I used to actually attend tpm meets :-)
  3. The thing that amuses me if that, say by some chance you were chosen to be in the small group of people who got to experience the technical rehearsal, you most probably wouldn't be remarking how unfair it is for other people not being given the opportunity. Maybe they did it in the midde of the day incase there were any difficulties which led to there being substantial delays, and they wanted to ensure everyone who was told they'd get to have a go would get a go without both the riders and any staff involved having to hang about until a time that's inconveniently late? I genuinely don't see the issue with this being a thing, and judging by the comments of people who I believe witnessed this from reading the last couple of pages, they don't at all seem upset or angry at the park for them not being allowed the chance to ride it!
  4. I was intending to start this on Friday because that's the film day and Fridays are like the first day of the week in the cinema world or something as that's when films are generally released (that's my attempt at trying to be all clever and different) but after a week of mocks and having work that same day it all slipped my mind so I suppose I'll start where I'm supposed to start mellow monday To be honest, I don't really listen to songs to relax as such, but I've realised that more and more recently I've put on certain songs when I'm feeling anxious or a bit sad to cheer me up a bit so I try to listen to songs that are fairly up beat and happy like this lovely track by everything everything, or walk the moon with this, but I've actually found that this song is one that is fairly mellow, but when it starts playing I don't actually skip the track and it genuinely brings this sense of calm to me which is great when I'm attempting to study and getting a bit frustrated! Anyway, rambling aside, the track is So Long, See You Tomorrow by Bombay Bicycle Club and I'd recommend checking out their stuff if you haven't already!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_1jG61j6-I edit: guess who can't embed links again (hint- me)
  5. ATF wasn't stating that would be the 'average' amount of steps nor that it would be the same wherever you may be in the attraction shpuld the need for an evacuation arise. I don't see any fault in this assumption, which is all we seem to really have to go on just like the majority of the project (assumptions based on often minimal information and logic, not a warning board outside).
  6. As everyone on the list seems to be done... May I have a chance of redemption?
  7. In many respects I'm not especially surprised that this has all come about, like others had said over the entire course of this as we've heard whispers that more and more aspects and companies seemed to be involved in this project I've been wondering how it would all fit together and how easily/smoothly everything would do so. I had no intentions of going to the park especially for this or its opening but I can see why people would be somewhat irked at this and to mimic what's been said before I really feel for those who have made travel and accomodation arrangements far in advance in anticipation of this. It's a huge shame but not such a huge shock as it were. I just hope it all works out in the end as Thorpe really seem to be trying to make up for it somewhat- although to me it seems to potentially be to stub another 12p ticket-type outrage before it begins- either way, they're trying to do something at least
  8. I believe the right is the side which goes over the drop as it were, so it wouldn't be great if you're scared of the prospect of being inverted as it can feel quite slow, so I'd say left could be better as I find that side comparably tame and floaty too!
  9. I thought Stealth has a double ratchet system? I'm pretty sure you have to push up Stealth's restraints

    This Or That

Rock, it's all that my fragile indie soul can handle otters or meerkats?
  11. Hasn't Stealth been having issues which has meant that it's only been able to run on one train since the start of the season? If so, you can't blame them for testing it so much, they wouldn't want people getting stuck at the offload like at AP day
  12. Do you really call people dank when you like their face? Is that a thing now? Is it ironic??? Oh goodness Anyway, rant: the first of my AS exams is just under a month and two weeks away and we are in no way prepared to sit an exam, we haven't even finished learning everything we need to learn in maths (which is really bad as that's one of the only subjects that haven't gone linear this year) as well as another two of my subjects. Well only have about four weeks of contact time between now and exams because my school is silly and having another week of mocks that we have to sit but we (sixth form) supposedly won't have lessons during that week, just 'study leave'. Failure is imminent but my school really doesn't seem that fussed about year 12s, which is a huge huge worry and pain!!
  13. I know it was mentioned before that you could wear glasses with it, but now it's actually open, is that in fact the case? Not that I'd be able to experience the VR properly anyway!
  14. I completely forgot the 4D cinema was a thing until reading this! I only slightly recall venturing in there once when I was very little, the whole ship and dungeon thing terrified me (obviously)
  15. You haven't seen me open doors
  16. Has the park not managed fine in the past? If so, does that imply this is some kind of anomaly as the 13 weeks are usually sufficient? I honestly know slim to none about Blackpool and its operations, so I'm merely being hypothetical
  17. Going simply off what I've read here, these closures can't have been planned? These things happen, like with Thorpe and Chessington at the beginning of last season. I really do appreciate that having a number of rides closed can mar your visit somewhat, it doesn't make the place in question horrible or unreliable necessarily. I find it confusing when people seem to think parks close or don't open rides with little to no notice just for the lols, and that there can't possibly be a legitimate reason for it. Again I don't know much but maybe they simply fell behind schedule unexpectedly if it's a case of the rides not being ready, surely having the park open as promised but with four rides down is better than not opening at all because 'only' four rides are down? I feel like no parks could really win with you, Jamie
  18. Despite being terrified of this along with BBT since the age of four or five I agree! Whenever I go back there now it just seems like a shadow of the place I remember and loved so much when I was younger which I find quite sad. They might remove the spinning element with any luck though
  19. I'm actually going to try my best for once, I am mildly keen for ptat16 to really happen
  20. I've done a similar search before in a spur of the moment thing with no luck, but stumbled across this a while ago and it's the closest thing I've found to what I was looking for, it could be more promising for yourself though
  21. I think that too, it looks like you have something going around your neck?!
  22. I'm really sorry for my non-existent contribution, I've had quite a bit going on lately and had totally forgotten about this being a thing. Please don't hate me pluk
  23. I think flexibility is good, as having a set date could mean that a number of people wouldn't be able to attend, but I agree with pluk that advanced notice (especially for the weekender meets) would be great! I always feel really cheeky when I go to request time off work and rarely do it, meaning I don't know if I can go somewhere until the Tuesday before, so having more notice would be good!
  24. If she did that with everyone then her till could be up a considerable amount which could get her in trouble. Also, I'm pretty sure that every bag has to be accounted for, which could also get Amy into trouble, so it's not really that easy from the point of view of someone who also works in retail, but doesn't deal with the carrier bag tax.
  25. Jamie I'm not 100% sure why you've brought up an issue which took place yesterday again? If it's that much of an issue for you, surely you could contact one of the team or the person in question and attempt to sort it out properly, rather than dragging it onto the forum in such a manner?!
