They still made a profit which is better than a lot of companies, their biggest problem isn't their management, it's the need to please shareholders first, customers second.  If they were not a public company then they wouldn't need to pay shareholders and could plough some of the profits back into the attractions.

I have some sympathy, it's not nice to want to do things that are then countermanded by bean counters, but on the flip side this is the bed they made for themselves, so they only have themselves to blame.

Park has its worst year on record, losing millions of pounds for the company with threats of further cuts and payouts to come and you're expecting what exactly?

The expectations of theme park enthusiasts in particular are so high it amazes me. The awful look from last year has gone, an attempt has been made to make it look nicer on what's probably a budget that is minuscule and it gets nothing but derision.

No wonder our parks were left to run down to decay, the work they're doing will be un-noticed by the public and just derided by enthusiasts.

I like the signs and fences more then the meshy look from last year so I guess I'd better hand in my enthusiast card because unless we get a teacup ride hidden by a castle or flipping Hogsmede then nothing will ever be good enough.

Back in the day, anything closed for opening would be frowned upon, now it's deemed ok because the other year it was REALLY bad...

Need to get out of this mindset of settling for the mediocre and poor performances...

Clove oil only works properly if you soak a bit of cotton wool in it and shove it into the cavity, I have terrible teeth thanks to not going to a dentist for 30 years so am way past the pain bothering me point, but I used to find that salt walter as hot as you can take it, a steralised pin to relieve pressure if needed (in the gum) or even ice cream would dull the pain, depending on the time of year, cutting air off to the cavilty (with the cotton wool) was a good solution.
We've been stocking up on anti-inflamatory meds, since we're fast approaching that time of year where the earth shifts on it's axis, people look at me like I'm mad whenever I talk about it but I swear the only times I suffer toothache nowadays is during that period where we shift from winter to summer and the atmospheric pressure changes, so in the last few years I've been ready for it and popped a few nurofen based on where the shadow falls on our greenhouse, and not suffered as much.
Pliers are no good unless the tooth is whole and loose, it'll only make matters worse if not, been there done that lol.

You're going to need to explain what 'get in the bin' means before this generation understands...
Edit: Thanks to the amazing powers of the internet, I believe I have located the meaning on this slang, it's not what I thought it meant, in the 80/90's all we used to say was, 'shutup shi*thead', that was perfectly adequate to convey one's feelings, I can't believe even slang has become politically correct

The original rumour floating around last season was that Loggers, X and Slammer would be SBNO for 2016, and Colossus would close permanently at the end of the 2016 season.
Whilst I believe there was some substance to the 2016 SBNO list (things change), I believe the Colossus rumour is completely false. Then again, part of me does wonder just how long it has left.

Saw, Slammer, that funny thing next to Saw and all the water rides were closed for annual pass day last year.
We're not going this year, have other plans for that weekend, but since the tickets went so quick it'll be interesting to see just how many people are there and whether any rides are shut.

The (majority of the) cars you see on the road are deemed safe to use. Doesn't mean they won't crash.

Think the thing is though, when people lose limbs (or worse) in a car/train/etc crash, you don't see any call for them to be closed/removed...

It's a whole necessity concept, we view transport services as essential and write off any incidents as part and parcel, but because rides are an amusement/un-essential delight and don't have these accidents happen on a large scale (especially in the UK) it's all torch and pitchforks...

Imagine our press with the incidents on Bizarro/Texas Giant...

VR just like any ground breaking tec in the computing world will age horrifically. Moores law stating that processing power will double every 2 years. The resolution of screens doubling every 3-6 years. These are the first headsets available and while best on the market now they wont be for very long. Over the years they will show there age. To keep this ride up to date is going to need a lot of investment. Its not the case of buying 180 new headsets every couple of years but also updating the animation every few years as well so its compatible. Screen based rides don't have this issue as much as its just a projector on a big screen where the resolution isn't critical as its far away. On VR its a few cm's away where you will notice low quality images, the high latency in movement ect. To have a ride which seems to depend on a brand new technology (in the computing world) is risky to say the least.

Mixed feelings on that one. Is it just me who feels log flumes are one of the most signature rides for a theme park? Especially given it's aimed at the entire family. Shame really but saw it coming for Flume. Really hope Loggers doesn't follow suit.

Not the most exciting of news, but a a few new parks have been added to the park: some other disney parks, and I've started to add the six flags parks (although there are so many this could be quite time consuming).
