  1. As promised in the group chat, the plan for the days is as follows:

    FRIDAY:

Arrive as and when you want, some are arriving from around 7pm. Rooms have been organised by Peaj unless you have booked/organised individually.

    SATURDAY:

Visit Towers. Timings as per the original post. Due to the water park being fully booked this day this will no longer be happening this day. After park closes those that want will do the crazy golf, those that don't may go for a drink in one of the hotel bars (post to follow below to gauge interest in doing golf). Anyone who is interested in doing Treetops, discuss this among yourselves and organise to go during the park day. After this those who have not booked the Rollercoaster Restaurant will head into Newcastle for dinner and drinks and those doing RR may join after if they wish :)

    SUNDAY:

Some are leaving Sunday morning/Saturday night for their own plans, so will not be doing this day. Those that are staying will return to the park as per the original timings and ride more rides :D Those that want to may do the water park during the day (Post to follow below to gauge interest).

Hope this clears up all confusion!

  2. Hi everyone! :D As you will hopefully have seen, we have bought back the forum event feature with a special new calendar especially for our official TPM meets! I have now created an event for every meet that has a confirmed date, and will create the new events as soon as the dates are confirmed on the meet pages.

Feel free to leave feedback on the events here, things we could do to improve the pages, etc. and how you would prefer/find it easier to RSVP to the meets.

    Thanks! :)

This has arisen, apparently it has been sent out to various team members.

I am am slightly concerned about its legitimacy, however it has been confirmed by various employees. I also enquired about the ticketing service and received the response that this is "definitely will not be a ticketed service for the first few months". I am not sure about either of these statement, however they are intresting to say the least.

Fingers crossed that that information is true. Although surely the picture would've been kept secret, and employees would have been asked not to share the information.

I remain hopefully, but we can't be too sure whether it is true or false until directly confirmed by the park.

Indeed, it certainly is odd. It should be added this was posted in a Facebook group and so it could just be another hoax to get people excited. On the other hand, unlike normally stating if it is a hoax or not, the resort have given the generic 'we are unaware' response to this information.

Its just a waiting game from here on out.

For the record, a source has admitted to falsely creating the above image, it shouldn't be believed.

I genuinely find Saw more rough than Colossus. In my opinion, Colossus is the superior of the 2.

I will admit Colossus is better any day, but I will also admit that (at least for me) it's consistently rougher than Saw. Saw has the odd big jolt, but unless you're sitting above a flat wheel Colossus is more rattly

According to numerous sources on Twitter, Kong's walls are down. (!!!!!!) could be chance of reign or literal chance of rain to stop it being taken down by the storm. Team members said the ride broke down a few times tonight but overall it was great, they're expecting some scare actors to be removed from queue line though. :( Will be popping over either today or Tuesday to see if anything has happened!

Team member previews were happening Saturday and Sunday :)

  6. Not really ride related but I found it faintly amusing...

For those that don't know I work at a place that runs youth schemes for disabled teenagers, and being back from uni now I'm back at work over half term. The kid I was with on Wednesday demanded that I typed into YouTube 'Derren Brown's Ghost Train' and he chose a few videos almost at random; and we spent the next 20 minutes watching through one of MilesK's vlogs. What a coincidence :)

I like how the list is being updated so quickly! Celia is clearly dedicating herself fully for this meet.

How does ERT work? Is it like an hour after park closure where we just ride it constantly?

I can be just as excited as you can for something like this, I unlike many others have never done this BTS :D

As for the ERT, usually it's 30 mins directly after we have the BTS but it depends on what we arrange with the park :)

I'm up for 30th July, make the most of the late opening! Can we possibly do something the Sunday too? Probably not Dreamland as its not really a two day park but something nearby.

The first part was my thoughts exactly when I made that the provisional date! :D

As for the Sunday, I have no problems with this, apart from the fact that I don't really know the area and a quick google search hasn't turned up much to do locally  I know that's probably a downside from you coming from so far away :(

  9. Hi everyone! :D

Due to popular demand and current circumstances we have decided to add an extra meet this year to Dreamland Margate! Have looked through the diary and found two weekends a reasonable distance away from other meets; so the provisional date for this meet is Saturday the 30th July 2016. Because the two dates are so different the opening times of the park depend on which date (and even which day of each weekend) is chosen, so I will put these in the poll next to each option.

The plan for the day! Park opens at 11am so we will meet outside the main entrance and ticket area at 10:15 to allow everyone to sort their tickets out. As soon as the gates open we will enter the park. I will hand out my number to everyone going so if you're running late please let me know and we'll arrange to meet you later, we won't wait!

When we get in we will head on the rides, probably starting with the Scenic Railway :) At lunch (somewhere between 12 and 1) we will split off and go to eat where we want. After we will meet by the big wheel, before taking the group photo, and then continuing to do rides until the end of the day.

As always with the meets we aim to stay together for the duration of the day, so if you don't want to do a certain ride or activity please be patient and wait, or go and do something else and arrange to meet us elsewhere afterwards. Also, everyone is welcome! If you're new, old, new to meets or a veteran of the forums, no one is uninvited.

Please post here or PM me if you have any issues or questions or are a bit nervous, I can assure you we don't bite! Please also post or message me if you're attending, else I won't know you're coming! :D You are welcome to bring guests with you, though please let us know what their name is so I don't just write them here as 'Plus 1'. I will endeavour to keep the list here as up-to-date as possible.

Other confessions... I came out of my first ride on Sub-Terra crying. I was 10. Did not expect the drop. Or the back pokers. Or the leg ticklers. Or anything. I had my eyes closed for the whole thing too.

Pretty sure I was like that. I hate drops so Mitchada04 didnt tell me it was going to happen... I clocked just as they were strapping up in and had a minor panic attack  Never rode it again.

This ones weird. Hurts the most out of all of them, and hurts all the way up half my shin on the back of my leg, and unlike last time (where I overstretched ligaments) hurts non stop (aches)

The back of your calf going up to halfway up the lower section of your leg is your Achilles tendon (I know, I've had a lot of trouble with mine recently) and going by how you can't move it and can't put weight on it (your Achilles goes round to underneath your heel) it definitely sounds like that's where you've sprained it. You can get some good ibuprofen creams/gels (I use Voltarol Emulgel P) that will reduce most swelling within a few days, and a tubi grip bandage will do wonders as well by giving you extra support :)

  12. I believe it may have fallen off. Went around rumba on Friday and saw the old tanks and stuff were hidden in the bushes behind the tower you can see in that picture.

One thing we did notice though, a really old sign had been placed at the entrance to the tunnel leaning against the wall as if it was only there temporarily, can't quite remember what it said but something about 'home/source of the currant'...

Things did look like there had been a bit of a clean too!

  13. So, on park today...

    IMG_20160506_144353.jpg

Nice themed hand stamps, shame about the delay...

    IMG_20160506_144410.jpg

The signs saying main and fast track entrances have been taken down since this morning? :pardon:

Also, managed to have a sneaky peek through the window in the shop on Adam's shoulders and it just seems to be a ride exit passage, disappointing

My point was, I wonder if there is some sort of drop element maybe?

I did raise the idea that the carriage was going to drop a while ago (1st of March, would quote the post but cant work out how to multi quote from different pages on this version of the forum) after all

    • on the plans was a box with a cross, which sometimes can mean a form of lift,
    • then the basic description from when they were first showing us the ride which said something along the lines of 'when guests enter the building they are confronted by a suspended train carriage held aloft by only a few chains',
    • the way even now they keep using the word "suspended",
    • and of course we can't forget all of the merch with the image of the train carriage hanging precariously from just a few chains as people fall out/try to escape, etc...
    • plus the height restriction.

I've definitely been pretty sure the train carriage is going to perform some kind of drop for a while now, though it could even be something small and slow that just gives you the sensation of falling when paired with the VR (like on Spiderman in Orlando where the movement pared with what's on the screens makes you feel like falling when in reality you've moved like a foot or something downwards I think it is). That theory would definitely fit if they are pistons under the carriage, pistons that size aren't going to be moving a "seven tonne" train carriage plus people at any kind of great speed.
