  1. Park looks and feels like a building site atm. That, along with reduced ride availability on offpeak make visiting midweek COMPLETELY POINTLESS AND CRAP.
  2. God that preshow is absolutely bloody awful. Can't believe chessie is ranting and raving about that technology. It's awful.

    The Smiler

    The queue holds 2.5hrs worth.
  4. Thanks (Last worked there 5yrs ago!)
  5. To any guest, it's utterly shocking and disgraceful that the park looks like this. Be it a returner, or a brand new guest. Infact, it's worse if it's a new guest as there's hell chance they'll ever get them coming back. I can't simply believe this had to happen at the worst possible time for chessington. Heavy investment year, a ride which should've brought the park back onto the map and being very prominant being tainted by the rest of the park looking like something out of Holidays from Hell. As for guests moaning about runaway, meh to them. I'm sure the guests would actually prefer it to be closed rather than open with no theming showing the back-of-house of Chessington. The same as Air would close rather than be on just one craft operation. It's the experience that matters, and chessington is just failing to provide it. Shame, as I adore the park. It's gonna be weird staying in their hotel soon but not actually venturing on park as I don't want to become incredibly angry with the place. Zufari will just have to wait.

The park could never afford a B&M.. However if they just went along with getting another coaster from CCI/Gerts they'll be fine. Both of their coasters are fantastic and very reridable.

    The Smiler

    Saw was never smooth.
  8. I had a similar delivery time with something from CityLink. No wonder they've never made any sodding money. You need to be more precise.

The ride went into the brakes and stopped. And then can tell it was released manually, into next section.. released again, then onto lift. Ride was obviously run in manual rather than automatically. Apparently it's smooth as, quoted to be as smooth as a B&M from the famous Wardley. Interesting!

I remember watching the Oblivion report, I was 8. Dad asked if I would go on that when older, I said no way. It stuck with me though, and I rode it about 7yrs later. Ooooooooh marketing worked!
  11. Knowing Chessington though, it'll be all Graham McGrath and not themed (Skyway, All of Wild Asia announcements.. pretty much every pre-record recently).

    Samurai

Lightwater runs theirs like Samurai was run at Chessington. Give it a few years, it'll be like thorpes probably.
  13. Yup. X Sector, Towers hotels, Transylvania, Audio systems. Oh wait.

    The Smiler

Smilers is a bigger building, by about a third I believe.
  15. Candy's done most of the projects we've seen since merlin taken over - Thirteen, Swarm, Sub Terra and Smiler are all hers. Hmm, maybe they need names which don't begin with letters in that area of the alphabet.

I went during the summer last year - one train megafobia and 2 cars speed on their busiest day. But tbf, 2 cars speed was perfect, the queue was 20mins. Megafobia would be lovely to have 2 trains on though, that queue took an hour.

    Legoland

Lego's capacity is 17500 this year (2010-last year was 16k, 2009 and before was 22k). It'll be busy but nowhere near as bad as it used to be!
  18. Those kind of dresses are amazing, when they sit down they don't seemingly care and you just see right up there. It's wonderful.
  19. I'm sure guests would prefer a lot of things, however they generally don't know what's good for them half the time. Repetitive theme music invokes memories and experiences. Remembering the inferno tune may bring you back to riding the first time, may wish to make you visit again or spark subconscious decisions to reride. It also builds a brand, to which you can market the ride and the park and it's merchandise to guests. You'll never remember what tunes were playing on the rides or invoke memories unless they don't suit the area whatsoever.
  20. Do they bring up peoples shoes? What if they had 28 riders of flip flops? I dont see the issue whatsoever, just let people take their shoes off as long as they're not delaying the ride. Makes life easier and throughputs better for the extremely rare chance of inferno breaking down on lifthill.

    Submission

Not sure there's a single staff member that enjoys Submission, let alone the guests!
  22. Which makes it a difficult rule. Must wear shoes, apart from almost every type of shoe going. Does this mean that guests with flip flips have different type of feet to aid evacuation than others? It's a rule that I just find silly. Either everyone wears shoes, or anyone can take them off. Shouldn't be an issue for anything else.
  23. Oh win - themed and consistent announcements! They've been needing them for years! Thanks for reporting haha
