  1. Well if the rockwork is unsafe, I'd much rather it be closed even if they're doing nothing to it, than open. Just write it off for this year
  2. Still got rockwork but closed? I'd rather that than bare and open..
  3. Depends on the weight of the ride - I seemingly remember getting 5 on there, but also 3, all depends. Ripsaw gets 5 if the weight is right, otherwise it'll be 4 on that setting, however it is an accidental extra inversion incase anyones interested in that.

I went on Tuesday, shutter worked perfectly. Love thirteen, really really fits into towers.
  5. Also, due to trains and Benin not going I can no longer go either (as it'd involve me either arriving at 1pm or costing me £60). Sorry all, I tried my best.
  6. No, however it's really not that bad. What do you expect them to do? Ride is obviously in maintenance, so they can't clean trains or be in way of station.. that leaves.. litterpicking ride area. Which would've been done! Nothing therefore to do.
  7. Kinda is acceptable, every other park would do it. Nemesis did when it was closed for the few days after snow day at towers.

    Oakwood

I do hope they theme inside that shed, block it off or make it pitch black or something.
  9. What about a mega comfy row long lapbar? Get those trucks out in 30 seconds. It's about the throughputs man.The throughputs!!!!!
  10. If you make one of them go backwards, that'll be ace . Otherwise, I can't imagine anything interesting.. but if we see you, we'll say hi!
  11. Thinking about it, when I had tasted Burger Kitchen for the first time, it reminded me of Oakwood burgers. Was not impressed. Equally, megafobia closed at 845 (on a park close of 10pm!) when I visited, and ended up doing no rides after that cos everything closed as we approached or were in the queue (Spooky 3d closed the doors in our faces). Still enjoy the place though.
  12. It's perfectly suitable in todays market. Much the same as Ripsaw is perfectly suitable in todays market. They both have riders, and both have relatively good satisfaction records. It won't go until it has something to replace it, or it explodes into a billion pieces. As it's not an S&S ride, it'll be the former and knowing chessington that'll take some time.
  13. Your way: Having rides which you deem suitable for the Chessington market. According to yourself, Rameses isn't suitable for the market. I presume Rattlesnake wouldn't be either in your way of thinking. Well, this is how chessington decided to go once Tussauds bought Thorpe Park. They removed Samurai, replaced it with peeking heights. They introduced hocus pocus hall, built land of the dragons, put sponsorship into Bubbleworks and completely changed their branding and identity to fit within these ideas. Result?: Huge loss of custom, huge brand clash, lower guest satisfaction. Until merlin came in and gave the park direction again.
  14. Thorpe isn't aimed at the kids market. Let's get rid of Rocky, and entire of ranger county. Chessington is aimed at families. Don't you tell me that towers doesn't get thrill-seeking 7yr olds riding ripsaw. It's your way of thinking that chessington used mid-00s which ruined the park.

    The Smiler

And presumably speed up the throughput of the ride as there'll be no waiting at the bottom.. I like this.
  16. Chessington is a family park, not a kids park. And therefore should cater for everyone. It'll lead those children waiting to be tall enough to be able to ride something bigger, whilst giving some fun to the older kids who probably don't enjoy berry bouncers half as much as they used to.
  17. I do adore oakwood, good park though not much there. Went for their fireworks event last year, thoroughly enjoyed it (though ride closing times were irritating). Will be going again this year for their fireworks event, though earlier in August so less busy hopefully. Food wise.. I thought their burgers were awful. Did not like them one bit. Don't like merlins brand of burgers either to be honest, it was just a shame it was only place without a queue at the time!
  18. No you haven't. Towers doesn't have any policy on wearing shoes on Nemesis, and they'll never stop it due to that. You're more than welcome to take them off as long as you don't delay the ride by doing so. Inferno I believe it's due to the woodchipping at the bottom of the lifthill making uncomfortable and a splintery experience, however they should just do away with the rule. It slows everything down for pretty much no reason.
  19. Towers ones are okay - the parkwide ones are rubbish (as Air and Sub Terra use 2 of the 4 items on every slide) but are updated every half hour. Actual ride ones are updated by the entrance hosts or the ride operator so are usually rather accurate. They just need more of them. Thorpe ones look lovely.
  20. Whoever thought putting a flipping siren on would sound good is bonkers. Some calm backing with something like "Thank you for visiting thorpe park, the ride queuelines have now closed. Have a safe and pleasant journey home!" followed by end of day or something would be alright.

They fix it on an almost daily basis. It breaks on an almost daily basis. Certainly worked fine when I rode 2 weeks ago.

    Jobs..

Yeah entirely depends where the store is located. The store I worked in had no "chavs" visiting and no security whatsoever, however a Croydon store I visited all the time and was full of security and all walks of life inside.
  23. Best week in July is last week, the first week of school holidays. Seriously. The park is completely dead.
  24. The discount on single photos are so insignificant you may as well just get a photopass. Towers with discount is £6.40 I believe.
