  1. Imperial Leather contract expired in 2010.Just chessington cant be bothered to even remove the references.
  2. Weekends around July are dead, particularly on Sundays. Infact, they're fantastic weekends to go.
  3. Gah wish thorpe just called theirs inferno. Inferno is such a better name .Still, least they've had a few years to improve their spelling. Nemesis temporary signage still sticks in my mind from this god awful place.
  4. And possibly the slight chance that it'll be slightly too wide, or too big, to go on a coaster train.Nah, it's meant to replace one of the seats on the ride.
  5. Pointless gun ride, but is fantastic spinning ride. WHEEEEE!
  6. I haven't seen anything else, didn't know what it was and had low expectations cos of it being Harry Potter.I got to see it in a completely dead screen, where I felt very much alone... and yeah, it blew me away. I was proper scared (and tbh, even if things were predictable, its still bloody well done and pretty good).Girl I was with adores her hammer horror films, loves this genre, and still found this creepy as **** and couldn't sleep. I thought it was epic, and wanna see it again (and why not, I get free tickets ).Muppets on the other hand, can only remember christmas tale, and about half a scene of one tv programme, so had no attachment to them. Thought it was way too soppy/disneyfied for me. Apart from the "Am I a man or a muppet" song, which is utterly epic.
  7. Mmm they all get trained the same, but then its down to motivation and how much they feel valued as well. If one team has an awful manager which is underperforming, then you'll see that come across with the team.. so its not as simple as the staff just not wanting to
  8. Recommended housing is just literally a list of available rooms or flats in the local area, something you can quite easily do through the internet anyway. The parks down south are utter poo with accomodation, towers treat you extremely well in this respect. Then again, towers need people from afar to work there, whereas the parks down south can generally get their entire staff base in the local area.
  9. Took me 2hrs each way when I worked there - and I worked there fulltime, 5 days a week. And you do get used to it.YP railcard made my trip £16 a day - it's annoying that the cap has reduced now, as it's actually cheaper (at £12 a day) for me to travel to chessington peaktime than it used to an entire 6yrs ago!
  10. Towers is a weird one - in that its the biggest local employer in the area - therefore for the majority of people, that job is their fulltime job, have done it for years, and therefore make the utmost of it.The other parks rely heavily on uni/college students as they don't have this unique thing towers has.

    Oblivion

I could not possibly ever do anything like that. Seriously the biggest thing I'm scared of is falling from heights, or being somewhere not protected by a barrier of some sort - yikes!
  12. Good to see the park having no closed days again this season. Impressive, considering the bigger legoland cannot manage without having around 7 tues-weds closes.
  13. Stayed in Splash on monday night. My god, the hotels have improved considerably over the past few years. They're now absolutely astounding to be in - I'm incredibly impressed with all the recent investments, and both hotels now have a real up-to-date solid feel about them - like your money has been well spent.Would recommend anyone wanting to stay at hotels to definitely do it this year. They're utterly fantastic.(Only problem is, now rest of the hotels are so amazing, my nitpicking has turned to how the freebies soaps etc should be individually hotel themed, not towers themed ).
  14. Yeah thats exactly the same. Must've found a balance they like to keep then.Skyride they won't open early - it's costly to run, and also ERT is done so that people are spread out over the park by official opening, making people management so much easier.
  15. Green? Looks too black to me.
  16. Park will be open - October Half term is one of the busiest times of the entire season - plus their staff are working til November anyway.
  17. Go for all day Duelling.Shame they never have charlie on the list of half term rides - would be perfect in February conditions.
  18. If work allows me to be a geek and go do this, then yes.But I'll have to ask first, which is effort.
  19. Dunno about peoples obsessions with SRQs. I hate them as a staff member, I hate them as a guest.
  20. Aww you used to - I started as a halloween host, invited back for following season
  21. Oh wow, there's actually stuff relating to the films in there. God, the ride might actually seem a bit better if I watched and/or cared about the films..
  22. They'll probably decline you again - They don't like people doing assessments within 6 months of each other generally. But yeah try and ask for advice, may well help.
  23. Why no ERT when it's being arranged for coaster clubs.. are we not a sort of club anyway?Graemes thing is cool - and as for Kevins status, all parks are very interesting over closed season. I love wandering around them, even if I've done it a billion times before.
