  1. Thank god I'm off of the hook then. Out of interest, if you were one of the more militant Vegetarians out there, what would you do?
  2. Ooh Awesome. Love the name and the colour scheme. B&M are very much in vogue at the moment.
  3. Its okay, they took the seagulls body and made it into a delightful stew. It tasted great.
  4. 1. Nemesis Inferno - Decent little B&M inverter. 2. The Swarm - Decent big B&M wing-rider 3. Detonator - Best drop tower in the world. Seriously 4. Colossus - Don't find it rough so I enjoy it. 5. Stealth - Scary warey. 6. Tidal Wave - Nostalgia at its worst, remember the days off a proper Amity Cove, not the rubbish area Tidal Wave now sits in. The other rides are either so generic, poorly run or just boring that I'm not finding it worthwhile putting them in a list.
  5. Ah.. broken down rides, rubbish staff, spiralling out of control queue times. Sounds like the Thorpe of the 2009 years.

Only went on 52 rides this time?
  7. I agree with your points. My post does read like I blame everything on Blackfish when that isn't the case.
  8. I think Seaworld as it was is long gone. No matter how you look at it, that Blackfish documentary has done the brand name so much damage that the Seaworld name is pretty toxic and giving the Orcas larger tanks isn't going to be enough. The sad thing is, they do so much for conservation of other species and it makes me wonder if the more the shares plummet, the more visitors stop going, what effect will it have on the good work that Seaworld has done and continues to do. Way to many what if's in my post.
  9. I'm not patronising you Altitude, I'm applauding the fantastic costume.
  10. I had a soft spot for Calgary Stampede . For some reason my fallible child memory thought it was Rodeo but swingy.

    Legoland

Thing is, the theme park isn't going anywhere soon, so why do both groups have to be such poor neighbours. It makes things so frustrating for both parties.
  12. Yeah, at some point it will injure/kill someone.

    Legoland

I'd like to know what the parks relationship is as it stands. They were quick to change/remove jungle coaster for example and they've never really added anything that will send traffic levels sky high, that's happened anyway regardless of what Legos been up to. (Situations like this make you realise just his fortunately placed thorpe is)
  14. Throughput is the thing that cripples Chessington more then anything else. If you've got something better to talk about in the general Chessington discussion, why not start something, instead of putting all over the place.
  15. A lot of "if it has' going on there. Falls is the only ride then that can realistically get over 1000 people without any extra effort required then. Extreme doubts about that Rattlesnake 500 throughput as well. I ran a pretty efficient ship during my time operating it and 500 would have required the slickest operation and every car going out with four people in them. Very doubtful knowing the idiocy people go through to get on it.
  16. Time those people will never get back. What a waste.
  17. None of them I reckon. Falls is the only one that gets close to 1000 people per hour. None of the others are capable due to Chessington's operational procedures. (For example, Buccaneer could before the removal of air gates and introduction of new height restrictions and second platformer).
  18. I feel like Hershey are going for the lowest capacity roller coasters of any Major US park award here.
  19. It's a toss up between Mack and B&M for favourite coaster designer. Whilst B&M's can be formulaic, it doesn't necessarily mean they are bad rides. I was very surprised by just how good rides like Scream, Katun and Medusa are and when B&M go for it (Tatsu, Nemesis, Riddlers Revenge), they really go for it. Mack are up there because of the awesomeoness of Blue Fire (And soon Helix) and the sheer amount of rides they design and build. Intamin rides are okay but for every Juvelen there's a Tornado or Furius Baco. Flat ride manufacturer, it has to be Huss who designed so many staple flat rides of my childhood. Pirate Boats, Enterprises, Top-spins and Breakdances are just
  20. How you survive normal operating hours with up to 18,000 people I have no idea...
  21. Amity Cove was ruined long before Angry Birds came in. If anything, IP's will become more and more prominent especially at Thorpe where The Swarm's percieved failure by the park, means an IP will be more likely.
  22. I wasn't asked to be realistic, just what I wanted.
  23. Liza Minnelli would love the Pleasure beach. In fact UK theme park management does seem to read like an Arrested Development script at times.
