MikeC
They have just spent a lot of money on it, why would they remove it?!?!
Marc
A few lights and paint dont cost much.. the most expensive bit would of been the moving of the control cabin and that money will be made back from saving money with one less member of staff. MikeC
The new paint, production of new queue line video, new control box, new emergency lighting, new internal effects, paint on floors, new security cameras, and the bag box would have cost a bit aswell. Marc
The q line video would have cost next to nothing.. new things like emergency lighting are just standard upgrades all rides need over time to keep running and what internal effects? A few lights on the lifthill and a couple of dummy's from the old part of the X q line.
MikeC
Having to pay all Perm ops, and TL's to come in to act on the camera, all camera equipment, getting it put on tape would cost a lot Marc.
Marc
It was probably a TL's video camera..
MikeC
That sounds really likely Marc, thanks for enlightening me
Mark9
The filming wouldn't cost that much - for instance I have to film a music video for Media this year on quite high quality cameras that cost around ?5000 - presumably Thorpe already own these. Also staff would have probably have been in anyway as most Team Leaders work at the parks through closed season anyway.
MikeC
All produced by R&A, under ?4,000. Very good IMO. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which was what I think as 'lot'.
Mark9
Not a lot then
Marc
If ?4k is alot to thorpe then we have some major problems
richy2001
yeah we do! but thorpe should be rolling in money at the moment because with stealth being built last year and no new attractions for the 2007 season (apart from the flying fish which was already at thorpe) they havent had to spend masses on a new ride? Sheepie
Oh, but it's not Thorpe that rolls around in the money; it's the lovely, big, juicy corperate company that glares from above that takes all of the spiffy profit.
sjib29
X No Way Out broke down Yesterday when I was on it they turned on the lights and had to leave by a fire exit. It diddent look anything like what I thought it would
richy2001
unluckily, I've never seen what X actually looks like when the lights are on?which is a shame really, but I have seen pictures of the track layout and brake sets and things? MikeC
It's exactly like what you think it is. Boring.
Rich
Sorry to nag, and this is nothing to do with X but, Richy, why do you always have to put questions marks on nearly every sentance, when half the time the sentance has nothing what so ever to do with a question!?
richy2001
because I want to, and I feel that I can, and also some kind of relates to a question.I dont see why it matters anyway, its not hurting you is it?you see, that was a question, hence the question mark! themeparklover91
Has anyone noticed in the q line that it has lights, red and blue, which looks nice but then half way through there is a dark section so you have to feel you way through, then the red and blue lights are there for the rest of the q line! James
Fat chance of that happening. Seriously. However there is a preview on the official TP myspace.
The Technical Dude
I think people misunderstand X, it may not be the best experience wise but the thing is practically bomb proof. It runs all day every day and never breaks down. It never runs with less than 4 trains (5 just doesnt benefit anything) and it still draws a crowd so it must do something right. MChappy
I love X!! its so old and cool its like being back when I was a little kid
Fred
X is utterly fantastic. The only problem with them revamping it over last closed season was the "this way in" retro thorpe sign being taken away. I wanted that
