Posted February 18, 200817 yr comment_21614 Chessington plans to open its new sea-life centre in the Zoo this season. Discuss here Chessington's new investment.
February 19, 200817 yr comment_21972 I dont think it will do very well. From what I have heard the zoo isnt doing so great, so the sealife centre will only be busy for a couple of months. Althoug its not permenant so maybe theyve taken his into consideraton think that it will bring people into the zoo.
February 19, 200817 yr comment_21981 The zoo is doing really well. For the few weeks it was open before march last year it made £40k gross profit - that is amazing considering they expected to get about £8k. Sealife is an added attraction and one which everyone will visit (because its fish.. why wouldn't you go see fish?). Even though its not permenant, they haven't marketed it that way, so I doubt its just to bring people to the zoo during this time period.
February 20, 200817 yr comment_22021 The zoo usually seems popular whenever I'm there actually. And plus most of the time, it's the best part of the day, going to the zoo
February 20, 200817 yr comment_22026 whenever I went (mind you this is aaaaaaaaaages ago) the zoo was packed all the time.... maybe they are trying to bring in a bit more money to improve the zoo... possibly why the sealife centre isnt permanent... you never know
February 20, 200817 yr comment_22030 Maybe because Chessie had no plans of any sort of investment for 08 season until merlin looked into the park and thought.. christ it needs investment.. here, have a temporary sealife centre which we have lying around.. as its better than nothing, and we can invest properly in the future! *cough*Perhaps.. just perhaps
March 3, 200817 yr comment_22965 Staff preview day today for the new Sealife... All I will say is it's lovely in there. Very good addition to the park and despite the facts its temporary and in a giant marquee, its fantastic inside. The themeing is of a high standard and it'll do wonders for the park this season.
March 6, 200817 yr comment_23113 I saw alot of it on blue peter. (not that I watch that cr*p), I just happened to see it while going through the channels. They were transporting the fish into the aquarium and I got to see alot of it! From the outside though, it looks weird and boxy...THEY HAVE AN UNDERWATER TUNNEL!!!
March 8, 200817 yr comment_23287 http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b00...on_pid=b00937j3here it is! just skip to 2:55 and voila!YAY
July 15, 200817 yr comment_29658 I heard that Sea Life is only at Chessington for 2 years, is this true?
July 16, 200817 yr comment_29744 yeah, something like that. Basicly, its definetly NOT gonna be permanent.
July 16, 200817 yr comment_29746 Judging by this year I wouldn't be surprised if it sticks around longer than that.
August 6, 200817 yr comment_30483 The Sea Life Centre is fab though, much better than I thought it was gonna be. Infact, it's the best one out of all Sea Life Centres. Seriously, Brighton's is old and bigger, yes, but Chessie's kicks ass.
January 29, 200916 yr comment_43619 I went to the Sea life centre in chessie and I thought it was great. They even take a group photo when you walk in, I just came off rameses so in the picture I was soaked. but yeah it is really good, and it seems busy when I go.
February 1, 200916 yr comment_43744 I love it too, I went to Chessington about 15 times last year and only went in the Sea Life Centre about 3.
February 1, 200916 yr comment_43749 Is 2009 the last year for the Sea Life Centre? Why do you seem to think that?
February 1, 200916 yr comment_43750 I think 2012 will be the last year, but I suppose if they want to they could just apply for the marquee to become a permanent structure.
March 17, 200916 yr comment_48907 I like the Sea Life centre, the interior is pretty and nicely themed but the exterior is awful with all those bits lying out behind it.
March 18, 200916 yr comment_49062 There shall hopefully be two new additions to the Sea Life center this year at Chessington. A new amazonian section along with a new walkway above the shark tank which will allow guests to feed the sharks and other fish.
