Dan_Rush
as the thread title states, talk about the 2008 haloween event here!;)any dates or anything been confirmed. I've looked at the site, and all I can really note is the hocus pocus hall bewitched
treeis
ahh, they did that last year, and compared to any thorpe park maze, it was very fun and tame. Just right for me Also, I loved the witch actresses everywhere!
Theme Park bloke
What is the proper name for those cycle-things that staff go around on during HHP? They have a handlebar and accelerate from the bar. They stand in between the wheels. The 118 men also use them in one of their adverts! I have tried to find a picture of one, but have failed because I don't know the name!I would love to find out, and get one!
Phill
A Segway. And I hope you have £2,000 to buy one
themeparkmad
It is a shame CWOA & ZOO is only open until 8pm instead of 10pm like THORPE PARK!
Rich
8pm is late enough for families though!
themeparkmad
8pm is late enough for families though!True but they could keep it open for thrill seekers r people who just like smaller rides and want to stay up. Vampire at 10pm would be great. same with Dragon's Fury but would prefer Vampire!(and we cant forget good old Rattlesnake!)
Rich
Right this is just a stupid argument.Thrill seekers will generally go to Thorpe. Kids who like thrill rides and are at Chessington are normally with their family who has a younger child who will get tired from around 7pm.Remember... Chessington is a FAMILY park not a THRILL SEEKERS park. This argument about closing time stops now.
Mark9
True but they could keep it open for thrill seekers r people who just like smaller rides and want to stay up. Vampire at 10pm would be great. same with Dragon's Fury but would prefer Vampire!(and we cant forget good old Rattlesnake!)The only issue with keeping Chessington open for two extra hours is that a lot of the time the majority of guests leave the park between 5 and 7. I worked many days over Halloween and every day (with the exception of a 14,000 day) we were running most rides empty. It's not really worth the extra two hours if only a handful of people are going to use it. Young children get tired and there isn't really enough at Chessie to satisfy the older people.Vampire at 10 would be the same as Vampire at 7 and 8. Alex
What Mark said. That and they wouldn't be allowed because the locals would have a fit.

Sam P
Just been on Chessintons website and looked at the opening times for HHP this year and they have cut the event down to only 10 days it was a lot longer last year.

It will be the first time I've visited this event since 2003.I have to go to this every year.To be honest, I would rather do a Halloween night at Chessington than Thorpe. What else could I ask for?Vampire open until 8pm! Paul
I've never been. I always used to go to Fright Nights for my Birthday (October), but that was before I knew how good Chessington was. There really is no decision to be made now, I can't wait for Rameses Revenge in the dark!
James6
Ha , me too. From what I remember 6 years ago , it's actually not very busy if you go on the right day. Although that might have just been 6 years ago, oh how times have changed
Dan_Rush
When I went last year, I can't recall seeing many people. Actually, if I remember right, 1 part of the night was actually quite quiet
noob230
Is the new 'Black Forest Haunt' in Transylvania going to be a maze like 'Field Of 1000 Screams'? If so they've started erecting it today on the path from the Vampire entrance to Black Buccaneer/Picnic Field/Dragons Fury.

If so they've started erecting it today on the path from the Vampire entrance to Black Buccaneer/Picnic Field/Dragons Fury.It won't be on the same fright level as Field of 1000 Screams, if that's what you were asking. Paul
I'm just trying to plan my Halloween Hocus Pocus visit this year. I've never been before, but does it usually get that busy? I would guess that most people go home around 6pm, but can anyone give me an idea of the maximum queue times that I'll be looking at? Sam P
When I last went Fury and Vampire had 60 min more or less all day but Fury went up to 90 mins for a while. All other rides were around 5 mins to 40mins. So not as bad as FN.

James6
Awesome, I'm going for the first time since 2003 this year and I've decided to go to this after giving up on Fright Nights. In my opinion, it is TOO busy to have a good time. And also Chessington's just better anyway
themeparkmad
I done 2 trips for Halloween Hocus Pocus last year.I remember that one of them was…Vampire – 60 minsDragon’s Fury – 50 minsAnd the 2nd one was…Vampire – 120 minsDragon’s Fury – 90 minsIn my opinion, the queue times for Halloween Hocus Pocus at Chessington & Zoo can vary a lot compared to Fright Nights at THORPE PARK.
