March 13, 201114 yr comment_110670 I never knew the Valhalla station was that fast to be fair! Admittedly it can be a bit too quick, but they usually stop it once there are two boats on the conveyor at any one time. The Splash Bash is beginning to look alot better now, it has to be said. (Photo from Pleasure Beach Experience)It looks second hand, but seeing as this is the first installation of a Mack Twist 'n' Splash, I'm not sure that's possible?
March 13, 201114 yr comment_110671 That guy on the poster is hot... shame about the slut next to him.She looks good to me
March 13, 201114 yr comment_110705 The colour of Rollercoaster's supports actually makes me want to be sick now. It is going to stand out so much from the behind the park. I feel sorry for anyone living opposite it. At least the white didn't used to look that bad.
April 9, 201114 yr comment_112862 It looks second hand, but seeing as this is the first installation of a Mack Twist 'n' Splash, I'm not sure that's possible? It was built and tested by Mack, abroad somewhere in a warehouse, and was then dismantled and moved to Blackpool. Its not second hand, its the first one ever built. But it has been built and dismantled if that makes sense?
April 9, 201114 yr comment_112865 Tbh, this looks funky... Nice new restaurant, the Disko looks massive, and it provides some added colour in an otherwise dingy part of the world...Amanda's still a bitch though ¬¬
April 21, 201114 yr comment_113894 I was in Blackpool last weekend and Nick land is still having work done, but it is looking very good. Shame I only get there once a year Out of interest, does anyone know the full playlist to the fountain shows?I managed to track down a couple of the songs, Muse with feeling good and John Miles with Music was my first love.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
September 1, 201114 yr comment_122434 Thought I'd revive this thread, if I may What are people's opinions on the park nowadays? I went last year and loved it. The park has had some serious money spent on it and looks a heck of a lot better now. I can't wait to see Nick Land for myself. The old roller coaster looks brilliant after the re-themeing. I'm still against the admission charges for non riders and also against the food ban but it's still a great park with a brilliant variety of rides.Chris.
September 1, 201114 yr comment_122448 It is in a better place these days, and has improved. However, it has still not had ANY brand new, custom rollercoaster since 1994. They desperately need to invest in a big, crowd pulling coaster! Nick Land is great (although not as good as the Movie Park Germany version, in my view) - but they need more than a cute kids area with generic rides to really up their game. Some areas of the park remain disgusting.
September 1, 201114 yr comment_122489 Which areas would you like to see improved?Do you like the union jack theming on some of the rides? I love it on The Big One and Avalanche Chris.
September 15, 201113 yr comment_123313 Does anyone have any ideas or news of any upcoming new rides or attractions for next year or the near future, There has been a large empty space just behind infusion for a while now and was hoping maybe we would see a new coaster or water ride soon.. ??
October 1, 201113 yr comment_124100 Is the wallace and gromit ride a fact or is it still a rumourDon't know, that was some time ago it was being thrown about as an idea so think it might have been shelved. But they are making space for something.....http://riderater.co.uk/?p=1054
October 9, 201113 yr comment_124538 I'm not sure if this has already been discussed recently but by the look of things the grand old gold mine is receiving a well earned refurb, It has been fenced off whilst work happens.
December 4, 201113 yr comment_128342 I'm thinking of going to blackpool for the weekend in February I've never been so just trying out new rides whats the park like I no nothing is it big small rubbish fun is it worth going?
December 4, 201113 yr comment_128347 Definitely worth doing. It's a fantastic park I think... loads are so negative of the place, that I rather enjoyed my first visit this year!
January 15, 201213 yr comment_130166 Bling has now officially left the Pleasure Beach, and it's new home will be at Skyline Park in Germany. Sad to see it go, leaving only Abie Danter's Air as the only remaining Zierer Star Shape in the UK. This closed season the park looks to be getting just a general clean-up and refurb of quite a few things.Bling leaving the park last week.Nickelodeon Streak getting some work done on parts of it.Valhalla's new facade is getting there, with it's re-opening rumoured to be around April. And lastly, The Big One has had some re-tracking work done, I'm not sure if it's just getting some of it's existing track sections refurbished or if it's getting a whole new section, but hopefully it should pay off in the end and make it a little smoother. Also remember that the Gold Mine is getting a major refurb; not yet confirmed but rumoured to be themed to Wallace and Gromit. It's unknown however if this is due to open in 2012 or even 2013.Images from Pleasure Beach Experience.
January 15, 201213 yr comment_130170 Hmmm, I might have to revisit the park this year at some point, be interesting to see how it's developed in the infrastructure department since my last visit...Wonder how Valhalla will look....
January 19, 201213 yr comment_130499 Any idea what is happening to the space where Bling used to be?Yes, Amanda Thompson recently tweeted... "Oh yes we have a fantastic new High diving show and the Divers will be amazing" Responding to someone asking what will be new in 2012.Interesting, don't really understand what this will consist of but should be good. Shame Blackpool has virtually no "thrilling" flat rides now.
January 22, 201213 yr comment_130610 A good point, it was one of the best flats in the park. It would be hard to theme a diving show as all it has nearby is Steeplechase which is hardly well themed.
