February 16, 201213 yr comment_132087 Oh god I feel rather stupid now!I was going to say, "Am I supposed to recognise the grey haired guy with the beard and glasses, not the KFC dude but the one sat down"Thanks.
February 16, 201213 yr Author comment_132108 Oh hello there sexy Tower of Tower (2nd best ride in the world). How are you today?
February 23, 201213 yr comment_132608 So, our Peacocks branch got shut down today, after it went into liquidation in early January, and the new shop has a lovely sign up...
February 27, 201213 yr Author comment_132846 Make way for the Boris Bus, broken down in a city near you!
February 27, 201213 yr comment_132850 Gorgeous bus though - used for more than just journeys, but to showcase London to the world (again).Who cares if its broken down, what new things work perfectly from the word go? Especially when some of the most testing new things end up being the most reliable eventually!
February 27, 201213 yr Author comment_132863 Not that I made any inclination to what I think of the bus though Peter, you do raise a few points about it.For instance "gorgeous bus". Most of Londonders probably just want to get to A to B. Secondly, who cares if its broken down? Probably the people that want to get somewhere but missed the double decker that passed them two minutes ago.I'm sure everybody wanted a routemaster that doesn't run at night, doesn't run the full length of its bus route and doesn't have a conductor past 7pm which actually defeats the point of the thing in the first place and I'm sure Londoners are happy to have lost the higher capacity bendy bus for the lower capacity (and less of them to boot) double deckers. But as you say it showcases London and all for only increasing Oyster fees by nearly 100% and paying 1.2 million per bus. Woo
February 27, 201213 yr comment_132864 Maybe so, but Bendy Buses were bloody awful in a road use sense...
February 27, 201213 yr Author comment_132874 Maybe so, but Bendy Buses were bloody awful in a road use sense... GET PAST THAT TRIO CYCLISTS
February 27, 201213 yr comment_132879 Londoners get far more than the rest of the country anyway, god knows why the most densely populated place in the entire of the UK runs its buses with a subsidy when outside of London, where arguably the bus is far more important, they get none.
February 27, 201213 yr comment_132891 To be fair, only the first one is costing £1.2m and the rest will be significantly less. I do like them, despite the sentimental basis on which they're being introduced. And bendy buses are bloody awful so no loss there.
