May 25, 201114 yr comment_116542 To be fair, Thorpe's reliability has been top notch this season. Sure, some rides have had their blips, and the situation with two major coasters and the new ride down that occurred is awful, but it has still been good for the majority of the season.Strange for me to defend the park's reliability, but hey-ho. It's been very good this season, and there's just the unfortunate blip...I think that this year and last year have been pretty good.
May 25, 201114 yr comment_116551 I must admit I was happy / relieved / suprised to find every single ride apart from SAW Alive operating when I went to the park the other week, saw a few empty train runs on Colossus and SAW: The Ride was shut for around an hour at one stage but everything was operating at the start of the day and still working at the end. Understandably it was my first visit of the season so I can't say they have resolved all their reliability issues but from what others are saying it has certainly improved.
May 25, 201114 yr comment_116575 Nice to hear that their reliability is much better this year. What they need to step up on is preventative maintenance. That'll reduce the downtime, and reduce the need to replace those rare and expensive parts . Or at least give them a guess when it may go!
May 25, 201114 yr comment_116580 Storm Surge was closed all day. All other rides bar Saw:Alive obvs were open. Saw only had a delay to take a car off other than that it was okay. Rush on one swing though.
May 25, 201114 yr comment_116585 Half hour most for me today and that was because the Saw train being taken off.
May 28, 201114 yr comment_116753 Quantum was closed all day today, and Slammer was down at one point.
June 22, 201114 yr comment_118347 I'm due to be going tomorrow, anything down at the mo? Nothing on the website scroller.
June 22, 201114 yr comment_118409 I'm due to be going tomorrow, anything down at the mo? Nothing on the website scroller.Everything looks to be fine at the moment. I love that now you can go to thorpe park without expecting 2 or 3 rides to be closed for the day, I think it was back in 2007 were there was only 28 days which all rides ran.Jake
July 20, 201114 yr comment_119838 Is it safe to say Thorpe are having a pretty good year for reliability?
July 21, 201114 yr comment_119845 Is it safe to say Thorpe are having a pretty good year for reliability? ...and there's the jinx. Half of it will burn down again tomorrow now!!
July 21, 201114 yr comment_119850 ...and there's the jinx. Half of it will burn down again tomorrow now!! When did half of it burn down the last time?!
July 21, 201114 yr comment_119852 When did half of it burn down the last time?! Oh, you know what I mean!! Tired typing makes for bad post.Still, the jinx will happen. It's like saying the word 'quiet' at work. It will only end in disaster!
July 21, 201114 yr comment_119859 I think it is safe to say that reliability has been good since 2010 now. Basically since they stopped the february openings.
July 21, 201114 yr comment_119879 Rumour has it Thorpe Park is still standing... for now.But only for now...
March 3, 201213 yr comment_133167 Any of you in-the-know people got any expectations for the start of this season, any disasters found during winter maintenance which could impact season opening? S+S twins, I'm looking at you.
March 7, 201213 yr comment_133392 Luckily (or unluckily?) thorpe doesn't generally find much during routine maintenance/restoration work.
March 10, 201213 yr comment_133668 I notice on the preview days Rumba, Slammer and Rush are all unavailable. A sign of things to come?S+S
March 10, 201213 yr comment_133717 Both Slammer & Rush have received a substantial amount of maintenance over the closed season, I believe Rush is awaiting some parts and should be set to open for the opening weekend. Slammer should open as usual along with Rumba Rapids on Thursday.
