dk3
From the CWOA website (Q-Times): "This ride is unavailable for the remainder of the 2015 season".
Matt 236
Doesn't surprise me at all, they need to either replace or just get rid of it as the ride no longer works, and when it does it shakes you to death like its about to fall apart. I suppose no ones heard any updates on Tomb which to my knowledge is still closed. Something major must be up with that ride to be down since late August. Edit- just checked the site and Tombs like Skyway will also remain closed for the rest of the season. Seems like the ride has had it, like most of the park. HermanTheGerman
They pretty much knew it was going to be out for the year when it closed in July. Why they're only announcing it now I don't know. Oh, wait. pognoi and MattyMoo
Merry-go-girl
That's weird, I was sure we already had an announcement back in summer that it had shut for the season. Huh, guess that was just all the chatter here.

Merry-go-girl
I think the exact same thing did happen last year. Man, they really need to do some proper work on this ride. (but not tear it down!)
TraX
It baffles me why Merlin can't just pull their lazy fingers out their arses, and sort this once and for all. It needs updating. It needs re-routing, and Merlin could easily sort this, yet they choose to be cheap. No wonder the park operates so badly.
Coaster
Chessington Buzz have picked up on the fact that the queueline for Safari Skyway has been removed.
Benin
They could (and probably should) just literally be refencing the queueline (assuming the mean the cattlepen has vanished)... Â They're not exactly a reliable source...

Matt 236
With the removal of that queue, anything could be happening. 1/ the ride is getting removed (or going SBNO) due to being obscenely old (and cutbacks). It'll be 30 next year 2/ the ride is getting an extensive refurbishment 3/ the queue is getting rebuilt as part of those park wide improvements. SteveJ
Or 4/ The queue needed removing. paige, ImLucifer and Kerfuffle
StevenVig
Here is said picture. Queueline board is still up, as is signage on the walls. Normally when a ride is closed this is also removed. It is equally possible that this signage was pending removal at the time the photograph was taken.
yeah
Another photo I took today: Looks like that signage has been taken down I have plenty of other construction photos but cant find the topic Sent from my SM-G361F using Tapatalk
HermanTheGerman
OOOOH, look at those under maintained, overgrown and grotty steps. Delightfully under-loved. I'm starting to miss Skyway already. TraX
yeah
It's not going, is it? To be fair, I never liked it. Just something about travelling over lion caged in an old fashioned unstable monorail. Sent from my SM-G361F using Tapatalk
SteveJ
Haha "unstable". No.
Ian-S
That's a whole bunch of new-ish wood on the floor there, could they not just be replacing the old cattle pen with a new one? Also, is the AP building open on zoo days?
Matt 236
Or maybe just replace the whole ride completely with an updated and more efficient version (Mack after all do great monorails), plus it would appeal to the park's zoo market they seem to be going for now. I do wonder whether the ride will reopen next year with some TLC or be SBNO with the intention of removing or replacing the ride eventually. Could this area becoming home to that panda show as a new stage area as I don't know where else they would put this addition?
Ian-S
Wouldn't the new stage show just replace the penguins one?

Ian-S
Yes, the one up at the north entrance just before you get to the turn styles where the hotel and coach carparks are. Do that stupid £10 a day charge still apply to the hard standing carpark too on zoo days?
Mitchada04
Nope as that is the only open car park so it's just the standard £3 charge and free for Premium/VIP pass holders.
