  1. Yesterday
  2. I think the the baggage holds were always a bit daft on Saw, and it was the same with Stealth. They're too close to the batching area, meaning all of a sudden everyone has to get to the bag window then immediately be batched. It is always too much of a rush and too much going on at once. on the likes of Swarm and Wickerman they were built in a better place, because there's plenty of time between bag faff and station faff. So it could all get delayed at the bag window, but there wouldn't be any effect on the station.
  3. Good to see! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly the next couple days and they can get it testing and open asap!
  4. Funnily enough, I noticed the exact same on my last visit on 24th. Was in the SRQ and just assumed that the batcher couldn't keep up as noticed trains sitting there at points waiting for riders. As I got closer though, I noticed it wasn't the batcher but it was the baggage hold that couldn't keep up causing a delay in getting people through. Never seen that happen on SAW before in all my years of visiting so was a strange one.
  5. They aren't messing about! Park isn't even open and the crane is up already!
  6. Yep, very true - I'm hoping Saturday 8th is a worst case scenario so they are managing expectations - I'm due to visit on Tuesday 11th so would be good if it does open at least a few days before then so I can see what kinda queues to expect!
  7. Went against yesterday to raid the Nemesis shop and the CBeebies event. Weird day for queues, still a bit of an issue with staff not signing RAP correctly or at all in some cases. Reliability of rides not great but Galactica was being operated superbly and was walk on in the afternoon. Blivvy and Smiler both got evacuated in the day and we were fortunately walking past X Sector when Blivvy reopened. Was still having problems so loads left but waited about 15 mins for it to start up. Rapids were down all day (as well as the 3 rides advertised as such). Wickerman and Nemesis both running outstandingly well. CBeebies event was cute and lil one enjoyed it. Can't ask for much more. Good day all in all.
  8. Last week
  9. Due to me being forced during a break in Stealth operation, I ventured over to Saw. I used the SRQ but the whole operation was extremely slow taking at least thirty minutes. There seemed to be people all over the place but not progressing anywhere. Turns out it would have been quicker to use the normal queue, but baggage and loading queues seemed to be constantly vying with each other. Several times, trains partially empty were sat waiting.
  10. On Stealth today, a chap who I sat beside had his two very young children on the row in front of us. As is my way, and establishing that this was their first time on the ride, I asked if he'd given them any advice? He then called out to the kids shouting "it'll be alright!". It was, but I personally thought he could have done better.
  11. Finally, after thousands of launches over several years, the one thing I never wanted, I had a rollback today. Within a couple of hours of telling several people that I never wanted one, it happened. The power of the launch failed about half way down the run and we barely rose three quarters up the vertical. Still they could not get me a cuppa..........and after rolling us back to the platform, we were off within fifteen minutes.
  12. Works fine for me. Try another browser perhaps.
  13. Then theres me whos planned a date for the 7th and is a non movable trip well either I get one of 2 situations Hyperia closed and a very quiet park or Hyperia open without notice and a very quiet park Still a win win
  14. It loads okay for me, maybe it’s back up?
  15. I tried to open the Thorpe Park website earlier and it came up with this
  16. I recently went back to Europa for an express trip. Contains spoilers. The Croatian area looks splendid. So much lavish theming around the courtyard and buildings and nicely integrated into nearby areas. Voltron looks the part with its photogenic angles and immense queue and station building. I especially like the water effect in the queue and the Teslas in the station are interesting. Sadly I wasn’t a big fan in the ride, I just found it surprisingly rough and jerky on my first go, the second half is better. Although my second ride was a noticeable improvement, my first impression remains cemented for now. Much prefer the likes of Blue Fire & Euromir. I went into the Austrian area with open expectations and whilst it (naturally) doesn’t live up to the since destroyed hall, I like what they’ve done to the area. The cool and interesting walkways around the area, amongst the interactions with both rides are lovely. I also like how the finale of the trail is similar to that of the Diamond mine. I like what they’ve done, which has given new life into the area, especially since rebuilding the original setup probably wouldn’t have been possible. Rest of the park (albeit brief) was a joy as always, from the near immaculate grounds and ride selection to even random entertainment. Did Snorri Touren for the first time and was a delight.
  17. I have the font they use for Hyperia I’ve put the file herenovasquare 2.ttf
  18. If these rumours are true I hope Scorpion Express is demolished promptly. The area occupied by Scorpion Express is a sizeable plot. In my opinion a River Rapids ride,of a similar size to the former Viking River Splash at Legoland Windsor, would be perfect. I have always thought a River Rapids would be perfect for Chessington’s demographic. Furthermore being located within Mexicana the River Rapids could have a extravagant theme. A Rapids Rapids themed to Mexicana could be epic. I can imagine the animatronics, special effects and theming such a Ride could include. years ago there were plans for a River Rapids Ride on the area which is now The World Of Jumanji. Just because these plans were cancelled doesn’t me they can’t evolve into a River Rapids in Mexicana. Chessington have shelved proposals in the past and reinvented them years later. To me this signifies that a River Rapids isn’t off the cards. A couple of years before the area’s retheme to Land Of The Tiger,Chessington had planning permission to build a Watermania ride in Mystic East. The ride would’ve been next to Peeking Heights on the site of some Pay Per Play attractions. For various reasons this attraction was cancelled. Fast forward to 2022 and Barrel Bail Out opened in Pirates Cove following its retheme to Shipwreck Coast. Barrel Bail Out is a Watermania like the originally planned addition to Mystic East.
  19. TBF I think they can do both? I’ve seen a few American enthusiasts praising Thorpe for their transparency and regular updates on Hyperia’s closure, which is ironic when you see people on Twitter demanding more information. Thorpes ride availability page has been updated to state Saw will be closed on the 3rd and 4th May (but really it’s June!), I think it’s safe to assume that will be related to Hyperia. Trains have also been spotted filled with test dummy’s too so fingers crossed if all goes to plan the 8th is the day depending on how much testing Mack will want to do.
  20. The chandeliers are back! Brilliant.
  21. That would certainly make sense. I see the Hyperia shop is now open. I get it, make money but it's giving me DBGT PTSD.
  22. SAW is planned to be closed on Monday and Tuesday, wonder if this is for Hyperia access?
  23. After watching a minute and a half of them patting themselves on the back for how well opening day went it made any apology feel insincere. As @Mark9 said, rubbing noses in those of us who weren't able to attend on the day. The sole focus of the video should've been regarding the 2 week closure with no mention of anything else.
  24. From my understanding, this isn't related to the current closure of the ride. Despite it not being planned, the park are taking the opportunity to continue working on the area where possible.
  25. Any ideas what that is? Lift motor/drive wheel?
