  1. I know it's Christmas etc., but the lack of anything of any note happening on the Exodus site, other than the removal of the train and Rocky Express and not much else, is quite concerning. You'd think they'd want to make up for lost time...

  2. They're spending time on treating the Rocky removal with the correct reverence it deserves. And maybe trying to work out if they can fit Apocalypse in there too.

  3. I disagree - I think the Retro Squad rides are pretty obvious that they're only temporary, therefore it doesn't really matter if they look out of place as they're not sticking around forever. At the end of the day, the Retro Squad rides are built to be travelling rides, and Alton Towers have not tried to theme them to the area to hide this fact. Rocky Express however, was built to be a permanent ride. The theme doesn't suit the area, and retheming Rocky Express would be an expensive ordeal as the trains would need to be rethemed and the theming piece in the middle of the ride would also need to be changed. Of course, neither of those things need to be changed but Rocky would stick out like a sore thumb there - and the difference between Rocky and the Retro Squad rides is that at least Alton have the excuse of "They're only temporary, so who cares if it looks out of place?!" Also, almost certainly if Zodiac was taken from Thorpe and redirected to Alton, someone would've spotted it and posted about it. Someone would've spotted it being dismantled and taken out of Thorpe, someone would've spotted it on the back of a truck being hauled half way up the country, or someone would've spotted it arriving at the Alton Christmas event. But they haven't.

  4. The coasters at Thorpe are all different and varied, but all creating a great experience.

  5. Agreed! Both the queue line and the ride are exceptionally themed throughout, and the features of it are suiting.

  6. I think that would ruin the natural sound of the coaster going around the track on some coasters, just me?

  7. I have to say, I agree with this one. I always leave Thorpe feeling like I’ve had a slightly more balanced day than I do at Alton Towers, and I personally feel that Thorpe Park, particularly where flat rides are concerned, have a more fleshed out and compelling non-coaster lineup than Alton Towers. Here’s one of my unpopular Thorpe opinions; in terms of individual ride theming, I actually think Thorpe Park beats Alton Towers on many fronts.

  8. +Ride accessible to anyone aged 6+ +'Group' experience +Not too thrilling, meaning it's a much needed 'rest' ride in the park's line up +People are prepared to queue a long time for it Regardless of how bad it looks, how meh a ride it can, how deep the water in the boats is and it's low throughput, it's a ride which a large number of guests are willing to queue for and ride and diversifies the park's line up. There would be a major hole in the park's line up without it.

  9. Storm Surge was a good investment for the park.

  10. Nice topic idea! I liked Loggers. The indoor drop/tunnel was fun (before they butchered it) and the double drop was good fun too Mine is Fright Nights is a shadow of its former self

  11. Colossus is ruined by the trains. Granted 2002 Benin had a very different opinion on rides but the original trains were fine. Now not so much. Loggers I think is missed as it leaves a high throughput gap in the park. But it was fun with the double drop being unique. Shame Merlin seem loathe to replace either of the removed Flumes. I don't really have anything controversial to say. Especially since I haven't ventured there in years.

  12. It's sad that this is a controversial opinion these days, but I agree - despite all its flaws, on paper it is a really good coaster.
