7PM on off-peak days? The park is simply not busy enough to warrant this, they will never extend the hours to ones like this unless the park gets seriously more popular to justify it. Thorpe Park already have quite good open times compared to say Towers (which is actually busier) so I think we should count our selves lucky

I do agree it would be nice, and I guess what has been said is true, 2006 is a long time ago, even though it dont feel it! I guess we would need to see a busier park throughout the year though to make it possible any time soon, whilst the weather hasnt helped much it does seem fairly quiet on park.

They did offer it (in 2006) and it was pretty much dead after 6pm, whilst that's good for us it's not feasible for the park unfortunately!

In their defence on the busier of days they often stagger ride closings to try and ease the car park congestion

That was recorded today so the old one didnt return for long.. I guess the old one did need a slight change as the park isnt really closed as such now just the rides, as said I wouldnt mind it if this played and then after a few times went into end of day music. After around 10 mins The Noise started to play park wide. I guess if anything it fits in with the parks brand more than the old one but still not overly keen!

Clearer pic and the right way up They are not bad quality, as Dan said its just the camera. The main ones were only showing the Thorpe Park logo today, the rest were working.

X has now closed and has signs saying they are continuing the evolution of the experience so I guess it may be down a few more days whilst they add the final touches

I think every ride will have one of these. The old system wasnt great, hopefully this will be more reliable and looks abit nicer too!

I'm sure its possible, but it will be a push. Compare it to Gate Keeper opening a week earlier (May 11th) which is already testing.. Also its a B&M so it just works I know there different rides but I cant see Smiler testing in a week!

I do agree with this, the parks do care about the presentation of their rides and I'm fairly sure we will see more work at loggers when there able to carry out more work there.

Says who? :S Just because things are not known to us / announced dont mean they cant or wont happen.

Sorry but as Fred says, its absolute rubbish to think that Merlin are trying to get the parks to create queues to sell fastrack. Beleave it or not they DO care about guest satisfaction..

The same towers who are quite happy to open Rita looking like this.... whilst Thorpe are able to somehow fix the problem.. Swings and roundabouts!

I dont think there always is, back in 2010 rollbacks were pretty frequent and if you look in the console there are engineers in there and they are watching it go over each time so it seems like they were expecting it to happen eventually!

Its disappointing they wont keep it open till the new ride actually opens, but lets face it, this is ultimately the reason. I'm sure if the park was busier, it would be remaining open till The Smiler opens.
