  2. Would've got the train with those peeps but my body was like naaah. Will probably arrive dead on 10 but they don't open until then anyway
  3. Indeed Plus the height restriction is no longer on the website. Will probably make a lot of families/young children happier too!

I'll be honest, I've had way too much fun with the app So here are just a few that I've done... I actually cried laughing at that one! Madame Tussaud's can be entertaining - Dame Judi/Mer! This Ryan and Creek photo was too good an opportunity And then there was this one which went spectacularly wrong and created a Mickey Mouse shaped face...in a photo taken at the DLP meet! Fish's face floating above Ryan reminds me of Aku Aku in Crash Bandicoot!

This is brilliant The northern accents make it even funnier!
  8. A great meet as usual! Will say more later but for now, here is the deciding spoon-off that occurred in Finn's: I loved how a family were clapping and cheering along when Peaj went through everyone who was left/how much spoon they had left (and they then shouted happy birthday ), and the children came to watch the spoon-off!

Hmm I thought it was 50% off prints? Or do prints cost £10 now?
  10. I just hope I actually make it to the bed this time, rather than falling asleep on the toilet Oh, and after last year...can I PLEASE make sure my overnight stuff is in someone's car BEFORE MOS starts! All that palaver I went through with security both at the start and the end of the night could've easily been avoided
  11. More info on their blog here. It also seems pretty much confirmed that Hex, Charlie and Driving School are closed for TLC! Source: https://www.altontowers.com/useful-info/blog/exciting-developments-for-our-2016-season/
  12. I was literally just thinking this and was about to post! Only engineers can perform a manual override. Basically, when there is a technical difficulty with a ride: the operator has to call control to inform them, control sends an engineer(s) to the ride, and should they need to touch the controls at all, the ride is then in their control only. The operator and attendants cannot touch anything unless the engineer instructs them to. Once the engineer is happy/the ride is fixed, it is then signed back over to the rides team, and operations continue as normal. Rides staff are generally not trained on manual controls/overrides, unless it's part of an emergency procedure. On many rides, it is physically impossible without an engineer, as they would need to insert their key or enter a password. There can be exceptions for operators being allowed to use manual controls - for example, when I worked at Thorpe and Samurai had frequent issues zeroing (for those who don't know - the position it has to be in once the cycle has finished, before it can lower back down); operators would just need to phone control to inform them, and would then be allowed to put the ride in manual so that they could manually position and lower it to the platform (obviously much quicker and easier than calling an engineer or manager every time). But on a modern coaster like Smiler, I seriously doubt the operator could just manually override things without an engineer. My guess is that the engineer was there, and either did it themselves, or incorrectly instructed the operator. Also, according to the articles: "The theme park said staff misunderstood a shutdown message and wrongly restarted the ride."

All dogs should be taken out for walks. Of course some breeds need more than others, and some smaller breeds tire out easily Pugs definitely need walks though: "Pugs that live a mostly sedentary life can be prone to obesity, though this is avoidable with regular exercise and a healthy diet." Poor thing!
  14. Woo! Oh god, I've just remembered that place we went to at the 2014 meet, with the Inferno wings
  15. Well, I will be one of the volunteers at work taking calls for Sport Relief the night before, until 23:00! But with me being such an extreme night owl, it's not like I'll be going to sleep any later than usual (We still need a few more volunteers, so if anyone is interested, drop me a message!)
  16. Have requested it off etc etc. But should hopefully be there anyway!
  17. Have requested the weekend off so should be there

  20. I'm 25 and have been on these forums for years, so I am more than aware that "Everyone is entitled to their opinion"...besides, you could turn that around and say I was also expressing my opinion IMO.
  21. I don't see why only seeing Shrek at the end is an issue anyway? We already knew that the meet and greet with Shrek and other Dreamworks characters was at the end, so nobody would be expecting to see him in the flesh in any of the scenes. The attraction being named "Shrek's Adventure" doesn't literally have to mean SHREK EVERYWHERE. That's just being really pedantic and nit-picking...and apart from the odd post on here, I've not heard anyone else moan that there wasn't enough Shrek.
  22. Actually so excited for Airhop! The inner child in me will truly come out I will probably pass on skating as I'm back to work two days later and would rather not be physically knackered (and this cold I've had over Christmas is still lurking and making me feel meh ) Rickaaaaaay will be good to see you at a meet soon

I made a Christmas video I was going to make one of just the London meet and/or just my family, but didn't have enough media for just one, so I included both in the video, although it's primarily photos and videos from London. (Oh and thank you to Matt Creek for letting me use a few of his photos. He'll kill me if I don't give him credit ) Enjoy
