  1. That's the only scene that uses a screen though ...unless you count the first part of the Jack The Ripper scene where the victims' photos light up on the wall? I actually thought the Great Fire scene used a lot of effects very well: heat, smell, lighting, smoke...and the loud explosions were actually quite scary And the screen they show isn't on through the whole scene - it only comes on once the fire has reached the building you're meant to be in, so I assumed it was meant to be a window or part of the building that had been destroyed by the fire. It's a damn site better than what the Tooley Street Dungeons did - the story being told by Tom Baker (a video that you stood and watched), and then that awful newer video with the guy yelling "FIYAAAAAH!" Honestly, it's received a lot of positive feedback and is definitely a good addition!
  2. This is how foggy the Eye was at the meet: I wish I'd taken some photos in the capsule now, as other people did and they look really eerie...but it didn't make sense at the time given there was nothing to see
  3. Did this back row at the meet yesterday (and front row the first time I rode a few weeks ago). Both were great but back row for me made it much more intense! And it was on 7 car trains yesterday I didn't quite get all the hype initially, and didn't want it to be overhyped when I went on and not enjoy it. So I just rode it with the mindset of "It's a travelling coaster with 5 rather intense loops" For what it is, it's intense and surprisingly smooth. And the efficiency is just
  4. How could you not? 3rd sexiest female...I'll take that Cheers guys! (Edit: just realised I also came third last year ) Marc and Fish - congrats Stuntman is happy to be 2nd best new member too
  5. In the words of the barman in the Alpen Hotel..."Ooops!" I'll hopefully get round to the trip report, but I did upload my videos and made a charming little compilation video, which starts off the playlist You'll see Olympia loop in sync too In fact the next video in the playlist is Olympia Looping It's just so nice to look at and marvel at the efficiency! Oh and the Wilde Maus video has the pervy mouse conversation
  6. Anyone travelling with Southern: http://www.southernrailway.com/your-journey/strike/travel-advice-for-aslef-overtime-ban/ Basically the whole of December is screwed. It mentions the 17th but there's no more info for that date yet. It's not to say you won't be able to get into London, or that you shouldn't attempt to travel, but I'd suggest having the National Rail app and having alerts service up for the morning and the evening
  7. Is there a group chat yet for this meet? I think we need one so we can easily discuss who has passes, who doesn't etc
  8. I will possibly be able to (depends how many Paige needs to use)
  9. This is incredible! And yep, I saw those loops sync Well I didn't actually notice at the time as I was busy filming it, so saw it when I watched the video back! Will be uploading my videos and doing a mini trip report tomorrow For now I will say this: Olympia lived up to the hype, I was amazed at how smooth and forceful it was, despite having read that it was the case! And it's so pretty to look at when it's lit up Oh and listen out for the conversation the mouse and duck outside Wild Maus XXL have...that mouse is a bit of a perv

    Wicker Man

Aah fair enough! Infact I've just seen that their account is still there on Twitter (and does look legit), but obviously not the tweet - I was under the impression they'd deleted their whole account! Blame TowersStreet's FB post for that confusion

    Wicker Man

LOL what the...?! The Wicker Man would be such a messed up, disturbing IP to have! Although I haven't seen the remake, so don't know if it's as creepy as the original, but that disturbed me enough! Also, we don't know that that Twitter account was indeed a contractor - it could've been someone joking around who got the photos from someone else. Or maybe, as Pluk said, they meant Stick Man? That would make more sense! I'm really struggling to believe this at the moment! Even if it was just a Wicker Man as a central feature, that itself is still creepy and pagan-y How does that even work at a family theme park? "Mum/dad, what is a wicker man?" "It's something used in a ritual, where they put people/animals inside and burn them alive as a sacrifice." Day out ruined.
  12. Aww BABEHS! Glad to see they bonded, after we saw them having an angry scuffle at the meet in April! Here's the FB announcement: THEY'RE SO FLUFFY
  13. I actually think the Alpen Hotel funhouse at Winter Wonderland is more enjoyable than DBGT.
  14. ^ Pictures tell one story, videos tell another I'm in the process of catching up with trip reports, meet videos and what not. Will hopefully have a trip report up in my blog soon, but for now, I may as well share my video (And we could all do with some harmless fun to take us away from the misery we've had recently!) The song "Sunshine" was used partly because it was sunny on the second day, but mainly in a humorous way as the first day was awful, constant rain (Hence I couldn't get a great variety of ride footage, but overall I'm pleased with it - the Wild Mouse footage is gold!) Oh and there's a cheeky bit of ballroom fun towards the end too! Warning: contains Marc and Mr Fish riding a giant pussy together whilst wearing sexy ponchos. Contain yourselves

Dont worry, you'll get my vote for most dedicated. All those bags must weigh a ton!
  17. So I'm finally getitng round to sorting through the many, many videos I've taken at meets etc! Here's my video from the Blackpool meet in September. The song "Sunshine" was used both because it was sunny on the second day, and also in a jokey way as the first day was awful, constant rain (Hence I couldn't get a great variety of ride footage, but overall I'm quite pleased with it!) Oh and there's a cheeky bit of ballroom/dancing fun towards the end too! Warning: contains Marc and Mr Fish riding a giant pussy whilst wearing sexy ponchos. Contain yourselves

    TPM Awards 2016

http://forum.maniahub.com/search/?&type=core_members&page=1&joinedDate=any&group[4]=1&group[5]=1&group[27]=1&group[33]=1&group[31]=1&group[32]=1&group[3]=1&group[16]=1&group[26]=1&group[17]=1&sortby=joined&sortdirection=desc I just went to advanced search, then selected member search and the custom join date The first link didn't work, so this time I put today as an end date and left it as descending order (the only way to change it is change the end of the URL but that may have broken it before). Although sometimes when you click on another page number, it tells you to wait before doing another search The first member who joined this year is Sullivan who is on page 8 at the moment.

The UK's exit out of the EU.
  20. Thanks for this great post! I'm actually quite excited about it now Not that I wasn't at all, but I did start wondering if all the hype and build-up would leave me disappointed, plus I didn't realise it was such a long ride! And a smooth travelling coaster Aww and it looks so pwetty
  21. Let's remind ourselves of one of the great photos from last years meet... Fish Creek is the best.
  22. It's they're, not there Moving swiftly on from the troll in the dungeon (see what I did there )... Many (not sure if it's all) of the Dungeons attractions actually have scenes based on local history, London of course being a good example, and Blackpool. I've not been to any of the others, but apparently the Warwick one is one of the scariest, and it's very dark (as in the lighting) compared to the others, although it's not as long as London. I sort of miss Tooley Street, and the rumble of the trains above the old arches But the queueing system/lack of time slots meant a painstakingly long queue outside, and the Jack The Ripper scenes dragged on for SO long and it was so hot in there, it was the part I always hated. Whereas now, it's probably my favourite part! Unfortunately I can't remember much about Blackpool, as I've only done it once and that was two years ago I remember something about vikings, and a scene with witches I think? So I'd say: 1) The London Dungeons 2) The old London Dungeons 3) Blackpool
