  1. the leaked info makes it sound way better than I thought it'd be
  2. but isn't this Europe's tallest and fastest coaster? It does look pretty ugly though, surely they could've gone with better colours and a more simple support structure similar to Stealth??
  3. Was just thinking.. Wouldn't the valley be the perfect place for a mack coaster similar to helix? With the terrain and everything (makes a wish)
  4. Is the park usually busy at this time of the year? Planning to go at the beginning of July before school holidays start, then realised it's school trip season Is Alton usually as busy with school trips as Thorpe?
  5. I'm confused as to how anyone watching that pov video thinks it looks awful? Even in the LQ video the screens look like they blend in really well and the interaction between people on the screen and the ride car (e.g when kong climbs over it to the other side) looks really well done The only thing that looks fake on the animatronic is the eyes but even that's being picky It's almost like we aren't watching the same video.. Big difference in opinions I guess
  6. Probably the acceleration (from 0-x in x seconds)
  7. posted by nemesis94 seems like an average family coaster length, looks fun
  8. To be fair, this looks more like a family coaster, I don't think it's trying to compete with the cross-valley idea.. Who's to say that can't happen one day? Starting with a smaller woodie is probably a better idea then going all out with the cross valley to begin with
  9. I saw a picture of one whilst browsing the sw8 thread on another forum, think it was towersstreet also noticed the reaction to this coaster is much more negative on there than here, I'm personally quite excited and I've never been keen on getting a woodie over a steel coaster but it looks fun
  10. they're saying those are the faces people pull whilst on stealth
  11. I think it's probably just a picture of stealth for no reason at all I'm interested to see the method they use for organising 58 people onto the ride without it being a complete nightmare
  12. Not that I care about spoilers but I feel that that's so obviously going to happen it might spoil it for the people who want everything unspoiled Also wasn't that one of the first rumours about the experience that went round?
  13. Wouldn't be surprising if a host already knew they'd be in costume as they probably already have it and it's hardly anything worth making up, Swarm's staff were in costume too weren't they?
  14. So from that video, I'm guessing this is inside the building? We haven't seen this before right?
  15. You're saying they can't modify terrain because it's on green belt land yet that's the reason the area was excavated? Does digging a pit not count as modifying
  16. I did inferno first, best one to ease you in imo
  17. Stealth is scarier than any inversion, if it gives you any comfort, going through inversions feels no different to any other coaster element, you barely even notice you're upside down (I used to be scared of any ride that goes upside down too, trust me once you've done one you'll realise it's nothing to worry about)
  18. Speaking as someone who's never been on a wooden coaster What's the plus points of building it with wood over having a steel coaster with the same if not better layout?
  19. I've learned never to believe anything like this posted here on the 1st of April April fools or nah? (not that this seems important enough to be worth posting as a joke but just checking) as applies to this
  20. https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=thomas+the+tank+engine+events+2016
  21. Would be cool to see Colossus given a re-track like hulk at Universal

Could swear that's played when I've rode before.. Which would've been a year or 2 ago
  23. The fact that this turned out not to be a spinner confuses me, alot of the layout seems kinda plain and pointless? e.g the wild mouse turn and the general drawn out-ness of alot of it Also the trains looks odd on the huge track, like a rct3 ctr
  24. I've been booking a 2 day entry and overnight stay at alton every march for the past 3 years and it's starting to feel like the price is going up each time yet the ride line up is decreasing They still do the 2nd day ticket free though right?
  25. the use of intamin's new track over the usual 4-bar track these top hat coasters usually have bothers me more than it should :'(
