  1. I'm sorry, but that has annoyed me. In the same way that all 'GCSEs are easier' claims do.Firstly, I'd be lying if I said I won't be disappointed when I don't get all A*s. That was what I was predicted until January. And I will be disappointed if I get a B in any subject bar French. That was what I've been predicted and that's what I honestly think I can achieve. As for GCSEs getting easier. I don't know if they are and, in my eyes, there's no way of judging. Pass rates are affected by a whole lot of things; teaching quality, the students themselves, etc. But there's one thing I know for certain. GCSEs aren't easy. They are difficult and anyone who disagrees is just stupid in my honest opinion. This year's exams were hard and, in my view, every exam I took this year (except one) was just as harder - some harder - than previous exams. What infruiates me the most about the News reports about exams getting easier is they come when results are out. How does it make those who didn't do as well as expected feel? Being told that these exams are easier and then doing poorly must be horrendous. Whether exams are easier or not, they ARE still difficult. Will, please don't feel I'm having a go at you, I'm not. But this is somethong I feel very strongly about, and I'm just sharing my views about what everyone who has a similar view to yours.
  2. I will say this once..I understand that you'd be extastic with those results, and there are many who would. However, if people don't get what they wanted / needed / were predicted, then they'd be disappointed.
  3. I disagree. Quite a few of the staff at Thorpe are nice and friendly. The trouble is that quite a lot more aren't. It's really unfortunate.
  4. My first thought was Floorless. However, never really paid any close attention to the Mega track honestly. From what we know about X Raptor and the released concept art, I think the track is too small for that too. Then again, I could easily be wrong..
  5. I can see it already.."New 4 2013! Try out our INSANE bins with added ash trays! Can u handle the WICKED task that lies ahead?!"
  6. I had a nosey at these photos on FB earlier. :PReally did seem like an awesome day! . (But no Lorikeets!? )And I do agree the staff there are amazing this season. Friendly, funny and helpful.
  7. I cannot believe I actually laughed quite loudly at that! They're chessey and all that, yes, but they are brilliant!
  8. Ooh, very interesting. Can't wait to sees.
  9. Ah right, must've missed that. Ta
  10. Though you were actually at the event; I've heard it could be either. I'd always assumed 2014 to be more likely as AT usually did SWs on a 4 year thing, but that of course could've changed.
  11. Ah right. Personally, I think it is explain to a good enough standard but, as you said, the maze itself just lets the story down.
  12. I think that is probably what they tried, yes, but I think the execution was very poor. That is probably the best back story you can get for it. The SWAT room of the maze does really give the back story, albeit a weak one.
  13. Brings back out of sheer boredom...
  14. Very true. Just a case of damned if they do, damned if they don't I s'pose.
  15. Hmm, strange. Every time I've visited, it's been on time, give or take a minute. The earliest I've seen the park opened this season is about 9:25. Strange.
  16. I disagree with this. It just annoys people more. For example, Chessie opens its gate at 9:30, but practically all rides don't open till 10. And the amount of people I've heard saying "What's the point in opening the park but not the rides" is uncountable...
  17. I do agree. To be honest, when Ricky pointed it out, I did realise it, but it was only then that I did. Then again, I very rarely bother Tidal Wave, but that's no excuse. You also say how 2 people notice how the Tidal Wave sign was fixed. As far as I'm aware, no one has mentioned about the removal of the Sea Snakes and Ladders (or whatever it was called) play area by Depth Charge, or the extra paving CC side if the Slammer toilets..
  18. Good luck Gemma. :DBy the way, anyone know why GCSE result day has been moved to Tuesday?
  19. My school being my school didn't bother to open for our results, what with only about 12 people collecting results. I wouldn't have got them anyway; only got back home at about 5ish. :DWhether I'll get them on Tuesday or in the post is a different matter...
  20. There aren't many back stories, or even front stories, to the rides to be honest. Even Saw's in unclear. One moment we're police officers, then thrill hunters, then test subjects...Inferno hasn't really had one, but the closest you can device from the park's marketing is how you are riding a Volcano. Personally, I like to make my own little back story to Inferno; the eruption of 2000 caused a monster to awaken inside the Volcano - and you must 'feel the heat' of both the monster and volcano to tame it.Tidal Wave. Do I need to explain that one. X:\WTF. The above is the easiest way to put it, but it isn't really that in some ways now. That's it really.
  21. Remember 2006 and 2007. They were hammering Stealth in. That means, if we were to follow your theory, Nemesis Inferno and Colossus were the 'what' rides of then, and they're even worse now?Nu-uh.
  22. Thorpe doing a special offer for Bounceback...£1 for tomorrow, £10 for any day, £12 for FN.Chessie I think is £5 for tomorrow and £12 for any time, though not sure...
  23. Never got that before to be honest. :blink:Get the head bashing, but that's it really. Little roughness on Saw, no leg cramp on this, maybe I'm lucky? Or just very strange...
