Yeah, Apocalypse is a must. Though I've heard it isn't as good as Detonator, it still is a must. StormForce 10 is also meant to be rather good.I think the key is to not expect too much and you'll have a great day!

There's no single ridets anymore. There is a lift; why not use that?
-
I totally agree. Is it really that bad if you've got to get up early? Or if you can't go to Ibiza? Etc. Etc.In the end, there's so many things that people put up with day in day out and do not moan, rant whatsoever. They put up with it. And it is infitely worse than just having to get up early. Thing is, whenever I say anything like this to 'friends', they have a go at me the next time I rant, saying I'm a hypocrite..
-
Wow. I'm getting a regular poster in this topic. I really must enjoy ranting. [/sarcasm]Well, actually, not as much a rant, but still, something I need to get off my chest.Wake up. Nice happy day. Everyone in a happy mood. Etc. Etc.9:30am. My aunt phones. "Hello. Can we borrow your strimmer? *Cousin* needs it to trim her garden before she leaves her rented house or else she won't get her deposit back. Is it okay if we get at about 10?" So, my nan has to panic and try and find it. After rummaging through our 2 sheds, find it. She pops in, says she's gotta run, and leaves. No thanks or when it will be returned.Just after she leaves, uncle phones. One of the uncles who didn't even bother to contact my nan on my granddad's birthday (see recent rant). "Hey. Just to let you know, I could lose my job as the managers have changed." No how are you or consideration. Nothing. So, my nan has a go at him. And he just says he and his civil parent will visit tomorrow or Friday (and none of us - me, my mum and my nan - like his civil partner...). Okay, no asking if it's okay or a time or anything. Thanks for ruining our plans. Edgy mood now created. Nan in a frustrated mood; doesn't wish to take it out on my mum or me. Still no contact from another uncle and a cousin who owe my nan £50 despite several texts and attempted phone calls over the past couple of days. Nan even more frustrated. My nan just gets even more frustrated by the little things and flips out. Needless to say both me and my mum were (and still are) upset by this all, as we've done nothing wrong. We both know she doesn't mean any of it against up, but we are sick to death of it - us taking the brunt for everyone else's flaws. My nan knows she does it to, but she can't help it. I've just given up with my family now. Defriended all of them on Facebook (bar my mum of course) and will cut as many ties as physically possible from them. Call that childish or whatever, but I'm sick of it.Rant over.

Yes. Mark loves Mack. -_-It will be interesting to see what actually happens. Thorpe themselves say they want the next 'big thing' as this is what keeps them in the market. Personally, I don't think that's how the theme park industry should work, but hey ho. So, Thorpe will want the newest attraction on the market. And, they will get it. Unreliable B&M is looking more likely the more I think about it. But hey, in 4 months or under, we'll have plenty to more to go on..
-
B&M - I think we've discussed the 4D idea to death now. But don't rule out a flyer just yet.. Plenty of rumours have been round about a prototype at TP, not to mention B&M's 4D rumours. The favourite in my eyes. Intamin - Would be an interesting choice, though a 4D by them would be high unlikely. It would appear the ride is going to be invert somehow, and what other type of inverting coaster have Intamin got? Dark horse of the lot.S&S - Tried and tested 4D. Rather expensive; reliability an issue. No other type of ride that they've got that would fit the bill. Wild card; you just never know..Vekoma - Can't see them creating a 4D. The gimmicky kneeling coaster or the Flying Dutchman (I think that's what they are called?) flyer design could be on the cards. Rank outsider in my opinion. Mack - Again, can't see them creating a 4D. Could offer something interesting, especially if you look at how well they did with Blue Fire. However, another rank outsider in my eyes. Gerstlauer - As said by Hicksy, no chance.Maurer-Sohne - Hicksy has written them off, but I think there's an (unrealistically) slim chance.Others - Can't see Premier, Dynamic Structures, etc. being in any way involved with this project. So, place your bets people..
-
What's made you rule out Mack justbout of interest?Okay, I do think them constructing a 4D is a bit ludicrious. However, they could pyll something out of the bag, muxh like with Blue Fire.
-
Intamin!? Dear god no, gonna be Vekoma. -_-Personally, my first thoughts were just a rush into the loop. Nothing spectacular. Just lift, invert, drop. But hey, it couldn't be that simple right?
-
You say few have seen a B&M 4D drop, but whi says there even is one?
-
Thanks for all those images Neil! Looking at the latter of them, that high point has been very well placed.B&M prototype rumour + 4D style mock track = Very promising! My only worry would be the length of the ride not being suited to a 4D; how long is X2 and Eejenkia in length? Perhaps it could be more Zacspin than 4D..?On a slight random note, when was the application for Stealth again? I swear it was August/September; but after a bit of digging, I'm confused now. :S

The place doesn't feel right without you (and your overly funny sigs) for some reaaon. :(That's good to hear about Q3); you just having a strange 5 minutes...

Yay! Mr Hicks is back! :(To respond to your points:1) 2012 coaster will most likely be in Area C, yes. The MTDP has never been wrong with coaster placements in the past. It will be no greater than 50m will be greater than 30m (I;d see it between 40-50m in my opinion). 2) 2015 coaster can be in those 2 locations yes. The MTDP does suggest that for all 3 locations (the 2 for this and the 2012 location) that the high points have been carefully thought out - just as you said. 3) I have no idea what you mean here. Did you mean 2012 coaster by any chance? Not sure where you've got those images from either - which document? :(4) Thorpe are showing the 9 places they'd consider placing flat rides - but they are only planning on building 5. They will not exceed 25m when statis, and not exceed 30m when in operation. All the other stuff) Didn't think of a 4D from that plan. Remember though, it is only a mock up and could be anything. However, I do see a very tight turn and drop from the lift hill.Hope that solves everything for you.

Gosh, so sorry to hear about that James. I know what it is like to have that shock to the system for the first time of someone close to you having cancer. I s'pose the only thing you can really do is look at the bright side that it's been found early and that there is that hope. :/Sorry to diverge, but I really need to get this of my chest.Today is my granddad's birthday. Well, it would have been. After losing him to cancer last year, this is the first birthday without him. Goes without saying that my nan is incredibly upset. But did the family come round to see how she was doing? Don't be silly. We had my youngest uncle phone at about 8 in the morning to see how she was. He knows as well as anyone that she's barely awake at that time. Hasn't phoned back. His children (some don't live with him, some do, looong story) haven't bothered getting in contact. My aunt came to visit, which ended up in her bragging about her holiday to Spain (a place my granddad wanted to visit) and showing all the nice photos they took. Other uncles haven't done a thing - wouldn't surprise me if they didn't even know it was his birthday. Just really pees me off how inconsiderate they've been. Also, quick rant at myself after reading through some of my old posts - I was such a d!ck. Sorry.
-
Couple of my finds:2012 coaster - no greater than 50m.2015 coaster - no greater than 40m.Coasters will be no no greater than 850m in length In perspective, that would be Colossus' length. Each coaster will have no more than 9 'Vertical loops'.2 elements/loops will be above 30m.The above 30m points have been carefully thought out and are not changeable. The track layout will have to fit around that.2 more maximum 30m coasters after this MTDP.Static height of all flats will not exceed 25m; in motion will not exceed 30m. And on a nice note...3000 new trees are to be planted each winter (closed season).

Undescribable!Just a shame I can't have a good look till this evening.
-
Wow. Some people.I do not know the full story, but it appears some friends have had a massive fight and are now bitching over each other over tumblr. It really is quite shocking, considering it is ending up as about 4 against 1. As said, I don't know the full story so don't know whether to help ask the '1' side what is happening or what.Eurgm. :/
-
I think it might be. Would make sense for it to be kept up as well.
-
By the looks of it, it wasn't only the breakfasts keeping them going... Tis interesting - thanks for that. But it is a pretty standard thing to do really. I still doubt this will affect how long OG has left though..

For some slower computers, or when there's slow internet connection, that scrolling message can be a nightmare! Also, looking at the box was much quicker. Also, if no rides are down, surely the box could easily be removed and a link to somewhere else could replace? That isn't too hard is it? (I'm not trying to be sarcastic there; I'm actually asking ). I agree with what Dan is saying, about if a ride is down for a few days then it should be in a box on the website. In my eyes, it's common sense Wow, when'd that happen? That must have been such a big step..
-
The Conservatives are to blame for yesterday's loss. They were the ones who cut the Defence Budget after all..
-
I personally see having a 'Rides Unavailable' section as common sense. We all know that these rides aren't easy and can go down at any point. And the park themselves always say in the small print how rides are "subject to availability" or whatever. So why not just update it? It's not hard and is very simplistic - I think a heck of a lot more of the GP would prefer it rather than be against it..
-
That's one thing I wish could be heard so much more. A real shame.
-
Again, perfectly true and something I fully think is silly.
-
More like the morgue. XDIronic thing is, people 'love their country' no matter what, they when they lose, they go right against them. Funny huh?
