  1. If you can work it out, they're awesome... If you're useless, then the ride is meh... Especially in the back...
  2. The disco slide plays Abba The park does need another dark ride in addition to Forest of Plop, and the shows in the Theatre are immense if on (the Theatre itself, is a thing of beauty)... The staff don't feel too confident on that front though of building another big scale dark ride, of course, that could easily change in the future, a Wickie dark ride would be faaaaab... Should also mention the hotel that'll open in 2/3 years too... Especially since they've talked with Europa about hotels...
  3. 'Everything' is not a valid option... Thorpe never seems to really have an off-peak anymore in the same way that the others parks do... Probably not helped by the constant single train capacity though, perhaps pushing for that extra budget of staffing/maintanance would be beneficial to the guest experience... An hour long queue on one train isn't acceptable (apart from when the other train is borked a la Colossus, obviously)... Regardless of it being peak, or off-peak...
  4. A Maverick style ride with the new Intamin trains/restraints on Altair in Cinecitta World might well be fantastic... But the question does lie with does Thorpe need another launch coaster or a multi-looper? They have both already...
  5. I can't really forgive a park that thought putting Fastrack on Skyway would be beneficial... Or Truckers... Or Seastorm... Or Toadies... Or Jumbos... Etc.
  6. Especially if it's a Great Coaster... *shifty* It's not gonna be amazingly tall, I think 30m was the highest point, mainly because Plopsa don't want to spread the families across the park a la Towers... I wouldn't be surprised if they've seen what Efteling have done with Joris and the 1m minimum on certain seats and taken that on board in some regard...
  7. And to think, Plopsaland has no fence around it's lake... We are so different from our contintental brethren...
  8. You MIGHT be lucky with June, it's in the hands of the council, though they're pretty much ready to go... No TR I'm afraid, haven't even done my Italy ones yet, and I didn't take my camera anyway... The offices were offices, just covered in a lot of concept art (which I've seen online anyways)... Anubis is so worth the visit
  9. I don't think we have a topic (I searched) for this park yet, and we're gonna need one... Why? Because it's getting a wooden coaster next year, is generally fab, and is only 45 minutes away from Calais! I visited yesterday and was lucky enough to get to chat to two management staff and try and coax SOME information about the planned wooden coaster for next year... Unfortunately we couldn't, but found out some interesting information about the park and the Plopsa brand (they own 5 parks, including Holiday Park) in general... As for this year, they're theming up their Teacups to a new IP of their own (Studio 100 own the Plopsa parks, so they are filled with their own IPs), called Princessia, which involves a 25m tall castle, a new restaurant and some sets... Once they get permission to build, they'll put planning in for the coaster... Here's some concept art:
  10. Probably considered dangerous in case they fall down because they've not been maintained for years...
  11. Probably just means the AP weekend, rather than them having a separate event... Premier Screaming on Inferno <3
  12. The majority of roles at the parks/midway ARE zero hour contracts though... You pretty much just fill in a calender at the start of the year... The difference you see between parks that retain their staff and ones that cycle every year is astounding... But since most staff at the UK parks are students, we won't see much of a change in this...
  13. Bear in mind only the spokes of the wheel will spin... Very unfortunate really... Looks amazing though... Surprised they haven't tested it at all yet though...
  14. Gotta love some good wild speculation based on pretty much nothing at all... Or dismay at people posting utter rubbish... Either option really...
  15. That's what happens when you live in countries that just don't care about being 'offensive'...
  16. I really hope they don't follow the American market of big rides, minimal theming, as because it's more bland than Enchanted Village...
  17. Let's be honest, Summer Nights in the empty park format were never going to last... For the exact reason people loved it... Add in some apparently famous bands and the event will probably rise to £20+ base price... Of course ride whorers might still be happy, assuming most guests go and see bands instead of riding things...
  18. If you can get a good cheap deal on the hotel (and unlimited Fastrack) then its worth going, especially as it would generally be cheaper than most other major European parks... Tis good when the Euro countries mess up financially...
  19. Always reason to update it, but there's only so many ways one can say it looks fantastic... It's not even a surprise the details come coming...
  20. >Accuses rides of being over-rated >Rates Millenium Force(less)
  21. There's Dragon Khan as well to consider...
  22. There's a reason why no other park in the world has built a ride like Baco... Even Intamin know they messed up...
  23. Well given that Duelling Dragons no longer duels because of people deliberately throwing coins into the other train........
  24. Fury used to be aimed at 600-700 an hour too... It's depressing to see their new throughput goals in the op boxes, given that there's usually a few hundred chalked off the majority of rides... So many rides there have needed replacing with better throughput ones for YEARS...
  25. Nemmie's been closed for two days... Not two weeks...
