Thanks for sharing that, it really does look like they are cutting it fine even with all the extensions they've had!
  2. There are thousands of completely unknown decent bands in this country doing covers and some of their own stuff and will work for peanuts for the experience/exposure. Finding a few decent ones and booking them up for crashpad guests as well as persuading a few day guests to stay for evening eats and drinks seems like an excellent idea to me, everyone's a winner!

And another from America, having a bad carnival week http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-05-20/carnival-ride-accident-witnesses-urged-to-come-forward/4699324 Seems he may not have been tall enough to ride http://m.smh.com.au/queensland/injured-boy-may-be-have-been-too-small-for-carnival-ride-20130519-2juhy.html?skin=iphone Love those rides, which I've always known as a spinning penny. There used to be one at Butlins Bognor, I seem to remember very loose solid bar restraint and you really had to hold on.

Not sure what I think of it. Really reminds me of the old Oblivion advert, the same sort of style with one rider talking to another like that. Is that it for the first inversion then? A fairly standard tunnel of lights? Looks quite underwhelming if that is real footage, but I guess it isn't. EDIT: Clearer version... http://youtu.be/S6jGA3nXH9s
  5. Close d does indeed look stupid. Someone buy Thorpe a thesaurus. Shut?

Can't quite tell what's wrong here, but kiddie hurt on kiddie ride. http://www.southwestiowanews.com/council_bluffs/news/local_news/child-injured-in-carnival-ride-accident-at-bayliss-park/article_3149867e-bf5a-11e2-8a67-001a4bcf887a.html
  9. Clearly it is a travesty I have not been here... yet.

Also, The shop and entrance look a lot like a 'crap, we've run out of budget. What has to give?' conversation has happened, especially with the shop. As long as the ride is good I guess it is OK but it is a shame to see what looks like a bit of a 'that'll do' approach to something that in other areas is so spectacular. I also have concerns about how that yellow will age, I can see it looking really dirty really quickly without regular washing and painting, not one of our dear leaders strong points usually.

Although I don't mind the bits I've heard so far, if the whole track is that full on I can see it getting on my tits very rapidly while stuck in a queue line.

Or, much more probably, it won't tickle you at all. You fly near something that would tickle you had you touched it, thus invoking the fear of being tickled rather than actually being tickled. As Benin said, the words of a man trying to persuade children to visit on a childrens program should not be taken as fact.

    The Smiler Blue Peter bit...
  14. They have shed loads of parking space they never use, that's really not a problem.
  15. Towers Street reporting this planning application has been withdrawn. Odd. Hopefully it is to make way for some better plans to 'resort' the place, rather than a halt on expansion. Wait for the Alton snoozebox application to hit the planning portal...

Towers have said in a couple of press reports there is a second 'worlds first' that they have managed to keep secret and will do until opening. So there's not a lot going on inside before the first lift hill, if there is any sort of secret element it will occur at the end of the ride then. As it stands at the moment The Simler has a much shorter indoor section then Saw, but a much bigger building housing it. That doesn't add up. Not that I personally think there is anything much else to be revealed. If it was anything significant they'd be telling the press about it to use in marketing.

You have to wonder if enough thought/time/effort was put into the ride development overall if something as essential and basic as the restraint system does not work. This would appear to be entirely forseeable and not something that should be having to be amended immediately after opening.
  18. Because this investment 'plan' wasn't planned, making it not much of a plan. More a knee jerk reaction.

I would guess these future developments are not much more than outline plans at the moment and will be highly dependant on the success of Neverland and the revenue that will bring. If they get this right and it works out well for the park financially it could be the start of big things, and do far it looks promising to me. As someone who hasn't been before if they got themselves another headline act (preferably big and B&M shaped) to sit alongside Megafobia they could be a real must do destination.

Some of these clips look like they have been sped up after filming, that they haven't is awesome and crazy.

Yeah, I'm fine thanks. I found it quite euphoric in a strange way, I was laughing uncontrollably a short time later and got a real buzz out of it. Probably comes from the same place that gives me a kick skiing off the side of a mountain with a parachute on and to a lesser (safer) extent riding coasters, although being able to choose to do these things is preferable to having them thrown at you by an angry God.
